Recruiters track their new connections and organize their network using a combination of location, years of experience and job-title. If we are reviewing new connections - which ones are we likely to remember or share with out hiring manager? Given the choice between a profile with a relevant job-title or hyperbolic text; the recruiter will pick the profile using the job title 8 out of 10 times. If a recruiter searches for profiles - she will use the job-title somewhere in that search. And for people savvy enough to connect to recruiters and use their job-title effectively; those candidates have a much higher rate of be...well.... hired. Bottom line - recruiters search on job-titles each and every time. If your profile uses hyperbolic language, lots of adjectives or superlatives - your profile will not rank as high as it could.
