Dr. Patricia Sigam gave a presentation at the Lift Basel Conference on digital health and the need for new players. She discussed how digital health can enable more compassionate, coordinated, comprehensive, continuous and accessible patient-centered care. She noted a paradigm change where care is now patient-centric rather than focused on the patient-doctor relationship. Digital health tools can empower nurses and providers by enabling remote patient monitoring, wound documentation, decision support, and secure data exchange. This societal change also allows for remote physiotherapy and home treatment supported by digital tools. While remote support is complementary, it does not replace human support. Studies show remote support provides value through increased patient serenity, information, and liberty while caregivers
