Q.1. The story of this saying took place in Italy. It is about two lovers who loved
each other so much. They decided to marry. But some social circumstances and
relatives block the way of their marriage. They did not accept this and intentionally
decided either to live together as husband and wife, or to die. together having
done best to achieve the marriage, they got disappointed. Dying was the only
option. They thought about a number of ways to commit the suicide, throwing
themselves into the sea was the appropriate way to them. The man sincerely said
he would not bear the situation of seeing her drowning to death in front of his
eyes. He convinced his beloved that he would throw himself first and then she
would do so later.
In the rush moment, the man did it and drown. The lady was looking at him as if he
was 'singing'. The man was dead. It was the lady's turn to follow him to live
together underneath, as they decided. But she soon broke her promise, forgetting
her sweetheart who was dying in front of her eyes and in heart as well.
She 'threw herself back to the village'. Yes! Her promise was to throw herself. And
she did, but to the village instead of the sea.
She came back home, to her relatives as if nothing has happened. Few days later,
she fell in love with another man. She was happy with him as if it was her first love.
It did not take a lot of time till she got married to him.

Q.5. In astronomy, the circumstellar habitable zone (CHZ), or
simply the habitable zone which is also called X, is the region
around a star within which planetary-mass objects with
sufficient atmospheric pressure can support liquid water at
their surfaces. Due to the importance of liquid water, the
nature of the CHZ and the objects within is believed to be
instrumental in determining the scope and distribution of
extraterrestrial life and intelligence.
Earth, of course, fulfils all the requirements, while Venus
roasts in a runaway greenhouse effect and Mars exists as a
frozen, arid world. In between, the conditions are just right so
that liquid water remains on the surface of the planet without
freezing or evaporating out into space.
Give X
X – Goldilocks Zone
It is so named because the conditions are supposed to be
‘Neither too hot nor too cold’.
Q.6. While they didn’t technically invent X, it was the Aztecs who
inadvertently introduced X to the world as a result of the Spanish
invasion. When Columbus first interacted with the Arawak tribe, he
was given a X corsage. Believed to be a key component in the
foundation of their empire, X played a large role in Aztec culture. It
was often made into necklaces or headdresses, and it was commonly
used to decorate religious statues. One Aztec ritual involved throwing
a whole ear of X into a fire as a sacrifice to the gods.
Native Americans are thought to have developed the crop almost
5,000 years ago. They brought a bag of X to the first Thanksgiving. A
common way to eat X at that time was to hold an oiled ear on a stick
over the fire. Natives throughout the Americas also made a X beer.
Some made X soup.
After learning about the fluffy food, colonists began enjoying the first
puffed breakfast cereal—a bowl of X, served with cream or milk.
Popcorn
Q.7. The Forbes Fictional 15 is a list generated
by Forbes magazine that lists the 15 richest people in the
realm of fiction. The members are characters from movies,
books, cartoons, television, video games, and comics. It is
cited by numerous outside sources. In 2006, the top ranked
fictional character had to be removed due to certain reasons.
ID the character and give the reason.

Reason – The children protested that he is not a

Q. 8. X means the rigging of elections by changing the
boundary lines to give one party an advantage through
the distribution of voters. The rigging of elections is as old
as democracy but the act only gained its name in the 19th
century. The governor of Massachusetts in 1812 was
Elbridge _____, representing the Democratic-Republican
party, in opposition to the Federalist party. Seeking to gain
the upper hand in the Senate race of that year a bill was
passed changing the districts by which voters were
grouped. This explains the latter half of the word. The
shape of the districts after the passage of the bill was said
to resemble a salamander or, as someone suggested, an X.
Gerrymandering
Q. 9. X was a Muslim Sufi mystic, saint and scholar of the
Chishti Order. He was the disciple and the spiritual successor
of Moinuddin Chishti as head of the Chishti order. Before him
the Chishti order in India was confined to Ajmer and Nagaur.
His dargah located adjacent to Zafar Mahal in Mehrauli, and
the oldest dargah in Delhi, is also the venue of his annual Urs
festivities. The Urs was held in high regard by many rulers of
Delhi like A, B who built a nearby stepwell, Gandhak ki Baoli
for him, Sher Shah Suri who built a grand gateway, Bahadur
Shah I who built the Moti Masjid mosque and Farrukhsiyar

Q. 10. X is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or

with the eighth Sikh Guru, Y. X was originally
a bungalow belonging to Raja Jai Singh, an Indian ruler in
the seventeenth century, and was known as Jaisinghpura
Palace, in Jaisingh Pura. Y resided here during his stay in
Delhi in 1664. During that time, there was
a smallpox and cholera epidemic, and he helped the
suffering by giving aid and fresh water from the well at
this house. Soon he too contracted the illness and
eventually died on March 30, 1664. A small tank was
later constructed by Raja Jai Singh over the well, its water
is now revered as having healing properties and is taken

Q.14. This is a sonnet by American poet Emma Lazarus. Name it and for
what is it more popular for ?
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
The New Colossus
This sonnet is placed inside the lower

  • 3. Q.1. The story of this saying took place in Italy. It is about two lovers who loved each other so much. They decided to marry. But some social circumstances and relatives block the way of their marriage. They did not accept this and intentionally decided either to live together as husband and wife, or to die. together having done best to achieve the marriage, they got disappointed. Dying was the only option. They thought about a number of ways to commit the suicide, throwing themselves into the sea was the appropriate way to them. The man sincerely said he would not bear the situation of seeing her drowning to death in front of his eyes. He convinced his beloved that he would throw himself first and then she would do so later. In the rush moment, the man did it and drown. The lady was looking at him as if he was 'singing'. The man was dead. It was the lady's turn to follow him to live together underneath, as they decided. But she soon broke her promise, forgetting her sweetheart who was dying in front of her eyes and in heart as well. She 'threw herself back to the village'. Yes! Her promise was to throw herself. And she did, but to the village instead of the sea. She came back home, to her relatives as if nothing has happened. Few days later, she fell in love with another man. She was happy with him as if it was her first love. It did not take a lot of time till she got married to him. Origin of what?

  • 11. Q.5. In astronomy, the circumstellar habitable zone (CHZ), or simply the habitable zone which is also called X, is the region around a star within which planetary-mass objects with sufficient atmospheric pressure can support liquid water at their surfaces. Due to the importance of liquid water, the nature of the CHZ and the objects within is believed to be instrumental in determining the scope and distribution of extraterrestrial life and intelligence. Earth, of course, fulfils all the requirements, while Venus roasts in a runaway greenhouse effect and Mars exists as a frozen, arid world. In between, the conditions are just right so that liquid water remains on the surface of the planet without freezing or evaporating out into space. Give X
  • 12. X – Goldilocks Zone It is so named because the conditions are supposed to be ‘Neither too hot nor too cold’.
  • 13. Q.6. While they didn’t technically invent X, it was the Aztecs who inadvertently introduced X to the world as a result of the Spanish invasion. When Columbus first interacted with the Arawak tribe, he was given a X corsage. Believed to be a key component in the foundation of their empire, X played a large role in Aztec culture. It was often made into necklaces or headdresses, and it was commonly used to decorate religious statues. One Aztec ritual involved throwing a whole ear of X into a fire as a sacrifice to the gods. Native Americans are thought to have developed the crop almost 5,000 years ago. They brought a bag of X to the first Thanksgiving. A common way to eat X at that time was to hold an oiled ear on a stick over the fire. Natives throughout the Americas also made a X beer. Some made X soup. After learning about the fluffy food, colonists began enjoying the first puffed breakfast cereal—a bowl of X, served with cream or milk.

  • 17. Q. 8. X means the rigging of elections by changing the boundary lines to give one party an advantage through the distribution of voters. The rigging of elections is as old as democracy but the act only gained its name in the 19th century. The governor of Massachusetts in 1812 was Elbridge _____, representing the Democratic-Republican party, in opposition to the Federalist party. Seeking to gain the upper hand in the Senate race of that year a bill was passed changing the districts by which voters were grouped. This explains the latter half of the word. The shape of the districts after the passage of the bill was said to resemble a salamander or, as someone suggested, an X.
