2. The Purpose
It brings the audience into the movie by creating that
sense of anticipation. It is a special moment in a film in
which it is able to entertain the audience. It clearly
relates to the story being told. The importance of the a
title sequence is expressed by this one quote which many
editors say:
“The movie can’t exist without the title sequence”
3. What else?
Introduce the programme
Tells us the genre/sub-genre
Tells us location/setting
Tells us some information about characters
Warning the shows about to start
Gives the show an identity
Give the information about the tone/style/pace
Period of time the show is set in
4. What was different in how text was used in
‘zombieland’ than other films?
The text is used very differently to other films as they
included it into the film. It interacted as part of the
scene without taking away the power of the horrific
images being shown. They used slow motion shots to
show the image, but the text showed the story giving us
as the audience a clear idea of what is going to happen.
5. How has the designer of blue valentine tried
to emotionally engage with the audience?
The designer of the title sequence shows that there is
love and it clearly exists in the shots of the still
images, with the effect of coming from darkness and into
the light in which the audience can see them. Fireworks
were added but were put out of focus by the
Director, making them look like a bouquet of flowers.
The music's rhythm represented the rhythm of the
movie also.
The main editing used was fading to black.
