Data for the most recent year were pulled from Infinite Campus as of February 28,
2013, while the data from recent years reflect information available at the end of the
respective school years.

4. Student Achievement
Student achievement at Futures Academy is measured by a varied set of indicators.
Because the program serves a population that is “over aged and under credit” the
progress towards or attainment of a general education development (GED) certificate,
the earning of credits at Pickens Technical College or Community College of Aurora
(CCA), and re-engagement in schooling are desired outcomes for the program and its
students.
The tables on the following slide provide information on data that was readily available
from Infinite Campus. While not all the aforementioned indicator data is provided on
the following slide, there are adequate data points to track the progress for Futures
Academy students across the years.
5. General Education Development Certificate (GED)
As of February 28 of the current year, 24 students were coded in the district’s
student information system as having earned a GED certificate while enrolled in the
Futures Academy program. Current data and data from the previous years are listed
in the table below.

8. Dropout Recovery
Of the 288 students who were enrolled in Futures Academy through February 28,
2013, 139 students were directly placed into the program from their traditional school
while 149 of enrollees were students who had previously dropped out from school.
68% of the students were still enrolled in the Futures while as little as less than 20% of
the students dropped out of school at some point during the current school year.
Twenty four students (8.3%) left the program with a GED certificate this year while the
remaining students transferred to another school/facility outside the district, were
expelled, experienced an illness or injury, or were dropped from the program for an
extended absence.
