         Don't be evil
You don’t need to be evil to be successful in
 whatever you do.
Google was never formed out of a big

All that they had had was a very big and sincere
  idea.
You don’t need to be corrupt to be successful in
 life.

Types of products and services
                 offered

 Products offered by Google carter to a vast
variety of audience ranging from Enterprise, to
    developers, to casual users
 All of Google's services are free of cost.
 It earns most of its revenue from advertisers
    and premium users.
                  FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 6
Accounted for 28% of Google's revenue in 2011.
A pay per click based service where customer's pay from $ 0.50
to up to $ 100 per click.
Some call it a monopoly, others call it a blessing.
Less than 5% of Google's customers know about AdChoices.

                    FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 7
How does AdChoices work ?
1 Several companies or organizations register with Google
                  under AdChoices scheme.
2 Whenever any user types any keyword pertaining to any
product he requires to search and clicks on the SEARCH
button,Google double checks these keywords with keywords
                    stored in Google’s database.
Thus Google search, on displaying search results, displays a
separate set of results highlighted in a separate block and
titled these results as 'Adds by Google'.
3When a user clicks on these sponsored links, he/she is taken to
the advertisers page and can view the advertisers products.
Whenever such sponsored links are clicked on, Google
charges the advertiser a predetermined amount . Thus it is a
win, win situation for Google, the advertiser as well as the
                               user.
                     FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 8
An example on AdChoices
If person X wants to Google about various head phone
models, and types 'HEADPHONE MODELS' on Google
search then on displaying results Google displays adds
pertaining to headphone retailers registered with Google viz
AMAZON, EBAY, BESTBUY or even adds registered by
headphone retailers registered with Google viz SONY,
   SKULL CANDY, BEATS etc...
Thus when person X clicks on any of these advertisement
links Google earns from the advertiser.
Bids for advertisements depend on the demand of the product
and keyword. Eg Cost of keyword Music CD will be much
more higher than cost of keyword Vintage cars

  • 7. Accounted for 28% of Google's revenue in 2011. A pay per click based service where customer's pay from $ 0.50 to up to $ 100 per click. Some call it a monopoly, others call it a blessing. Less than 5% of Google's customers know about AdChoices. FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 7
  • 8. How does AdChoices work ? 1 Several companies or organizations register with Google under AdChoices scheme. 2 Whenever any user types any keyword pertaining to any product he requires to search and clicks on the SEARCH button,Google double checks these keywords with keywords stored in Google’s database. Thus Google search, on displaying search results, displays a separate set of results highlighted in a separate block and titled these results as 'Adds by Google'. 3When a user clicks on these sponsored links, he/she is taken to the advertisers page and can view the advertisers products. Whenever such sponsored links are clicked on, Google charges the advertiser a predetermined amount . Thus it is a win, win situation for Google, the advertiser as well as the user. FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 8
  • 9. An example on AdChoices If person X wants to Google about various head phone models, and types 'HEADPHONE MODELS' on Google search then on displaying results Google displays adds pertaining to headphone retailers registered with Google viz AMAZON, EBAY, BESTBUY or even adds registered by headphone retailers registered with Google viz SONY, SKULL CANDY, BEATS etc... Thus when person X clicks on any of these advertisement links Google earns from the advertiser. Bids for advertisements depend on the demand of the product and keyword. Eg Cost of keyword Music CD will be much more higher than cost of keyword Vintage cars FYBMS, Wilson College, Mumbai 9
