Sandra Day O'Connor (Retired), Associate Justice,
was conceived in El Paso, Texas, March 26, 1930. She wedded John Jay O'Connor III in 1952 and
has three children – Scott, Brian, and Jay. She got her B.A. what's more, LL.B. from Stanford
University. She served as Deputy County Attorney of San Mateo County, California from 1952–
1953 and as a non military personnel lawyer for Quartermaster Market Center, Frankfurt, Germany

Dr. Joseph Lifschutz 's Case Essay
I. Facts of the Case: Dr. Joseph Lifschutz was a practicing psychiatrist in California and sought a
"writ of habeas corpus" to be released from custody in the county of San Mateo California. Dr.
Lifschutz was found in contempt of court and was arrested for refusing to obey an order of the San
Mateo court ordering his release of records relating to him and one of his patients. Dr. Lifscutz did
not follow the order because he believed the order from the court was unconstitutional, violating his
constitutional right to privacy. Joseph Housek had been a patient of Dr. Lifscutz for around six
months. As a result of being assaulted, he sued his assailant. In an attempt to discredit the case, the
defense wanted information to try to prove the plaintiff was not competent. Lifschutz refused to give
up client records. According to Stanford Law, "He also attacks the order, or more specifically, the
statutory provisions which authorize the compulsion of his testimony in these circumstances, as

The county fire crew were working to protect the eight houses that were in danger of severe
flooding due to a levee failing in San Bernardino County. Throughout California, there were many

In the poem "The RailRoad Earth" Jack Kerouac, a pioneer of the Beat Generation, narrates his
daily life as a railroad worker in the 1960's. He begins his story in an alley behind the Southern
Pacific Station anticipating the coming commuter frenzy at the station. He offers a unique
perspective as a bystander that looks upon the city and the two conflicting cultures that divide it. He
puts on display not just the everyday hustle and bustle of corporate America, but exposes the low–
down and dirty underbelly of the city. He uncovers a layer to the city that is deeper than its
corporates exterior. One of poverty and hopelessness that swallows the city like a pothole yet

don't agree with the decision of the court or agency, you can have the decision reviewed by a higher
court or agency, and sometimes a court can review an agency's decision. Almost all appeals have to

The Windshield Survey gathered information to better see the bigger picture of the community.
There are many older detached single family homes with front and back yards. There is also a mix
of old apartments, as well as brand new apartments. There are lots of open spaces due to the number
of cemeteries in Colma. Some have lush green fields with trees and planted flowers, while one has a
lake with ducks. Most common place for the residents to hang out at is the shopping mall,
Serramonte. Senior citizens meet there early morning, while a Tai Chi class is offered. The
community travels around in cars or public transportation, such as SamTrans bus or BART train.
BART trains are available from 4:20 am to 1:24 am, trains arrive and depart every 15 minutes.
There are two recreation centers, Colma Community Center and Sterling Park Recreation Center.
Doctors and dentists offices are also located within the community. There are 2 outdoor shopping
centers within 1 mile of each other. There are also numerous car dealerships along the street next to
one of the shopping centers. During the day, families of all ages and all races are out in the

Cerrpa Case
On Sunday, 04/29/2018, at approximately 1030 hours, S1 Alfonso Cerpa was arrested for being in
possession of a stolen vehicle. This occurred in the area of Sullivan Avenue and 280 south. Cerpa
was later released per 849(b) PC with a complaint sought. INVESTIGATION:
On Sunday, 04/29/2018, at approximately 1024 hours, I was in full police uniform, driving a marked
Daly City Police patrol vehicle. I was driving south on Sullivan Avenue, north of the interstate 280
south on ramp. At that time my attention was drawn to a gray, 2015, Volkswagen, Passat bearing
California license #5TUF434. I saw the vehicle was occupied by a male driver and female
passenger. I conducted a records check on the computer in my patrol vehicle and it revealed it was a
stolen vehicle out of Oakland.
I advised San Mateo County Communications that I was following a stolen vehicle. The vehicle
proceeded to get on south bound 280 from Sullivan Avenue. I continued following the vehicle south

Officer Lickness #226 spoke to the registered owner identified as Jorge Perezbarron. Perezbarron
told him he had loaned Cerpa VEH#1 while he was working for him in Oakland. He stated Cerpa
had resigned several weeks ago. He believed Cerpa was upset because he though he should have
received a last paycheck. He told Cerpa told he wanted hes vehicle back and Cerpa stopped
responding. Perezbarron reported the vehicle as stolen to the Oakland police on 03/22/2018. See

As America enters an era of development in transportation, people are bound to tackle traffic
congestions. Today, Americans spend 14.5 million hours every day in traffic because the roads have
more vehicles than they can hold. Heavy traffic is mainly caused by the economy and school
systems as they require people to go to work or school around the same time (Morgan, "The Costs
of Highway Congestion"). There are many public transportation systems that can help reduce
vehicles on the road; however, people choose to use private vehicles. People find private cars more
efficient, comfortable, and faster than public transportation. One of the traffic congestions that
provoked a dispute sits in the city of Pacifica.
Along the Pacific coastline of California lies the Highway 1, also known as the Pacific Coast
Highway, stretching from the northern border of Oregon to San Diego. The Pacific Coast Highway
lies at the edge of the Pacific Ocean that provides the beautiful, natural sceneries. However,
Highway 1 is a four–lane freeway and is busy during peak hours as commuters drive in and out of
Pacifica frequently. The reason for heavy traffic on Highway 1, is because there are more vehicles
on the road with a limited amount of space.

acquired "the remarkable Madina Collection of Islamic art. The collection contains works of various
media dating from the late 7th through 19th centuries from the vast areas that comprise the Islamic
world, from Southern Spain to Central Asia" (Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 2005). While the
museum already had quite an extensive collection of Islamic art, this particular exhibit truly adds the
collections as a whole.

It is very rounded and almost appears as though it is to be only held, and never set down. There is a
design around the rim of the cup. The design is a repetitive design and appears to be an almost
universal type design that could be attributed to any culture. It is something of a floral, or leaf design
and looks to be gold rather than silver as is the rest of the cup. It is a very balanced and beautifully

There is a finial from the 14th century Northern Iran, perhaps from Mazanderan (Los Angeles
County Museum of Art, 2005). This piece is intricately carved from wood and possesses traces of
paint (Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 2005). It measures 14 inches tall and 6 inches in
diameter at its widest point. It is wide at its base and tapers off, not completely to a point, at the top.
It is a very solid as well as very patterned piece of art, or architecture. Like the previous items
discussed or examined, it seems to have a very symmetrical feel to it, as there is not necessarily a
picture to be seen, but a repetitive element that is seen throughout the piece, or all around the piece
in this case. The carving appears to be open carving in that there are holes in the finial where there is
