1. Treatment 2:
Working Title: My working title is ‘Virus’, because in the film Sky
sends a virus to her whole school.
Film Length: My film is going to be around 10 minutes because I
don’t want it to drag on but I want it to be long enough to get the
whole story in.
Tag line: My tagline is ‘You’ll forget but I’ll remember’ to include
the idea that she makes everyone forget who she is, but she knows
deep down who she really is.
Key Characters: Sky is 17 years old and doesn’t have many friends at
school. She feels that everyone is out to get her and that no one
likes her. She is very clever and her favourite subject is computer
science.
Tom 17 and is the good looking guy in the year who every girl wants
and every guy wants to be. He plays rugby and has recently broken up
with his girlfriend Sophie.
Synopsis:
Act 1: Sky is at school on her own and doesn’t have any friends. She
spends her breaks and lunches in the computer room working on a
virus she’s been planning since she was 12. She has always hated her
school because no one is nice to her, so she feels as though she has
to get back at them all.
Act 2: Sky completes the virus and sends it to everyone in her
school. As soon as her classmates see the text virus they
immediately forget everything they know about Sky and she reinvents
herself and no one remembers that they never used to like her. She
suddenly starts making new friends and Tom starts showing an
interest in her.
Act 3: After 2 weeks Sky starts to hate her new life and wants to go
back to how it was before. She’s fed up of trying to keep up with
the rest of the girls and be someone that she isn’t. She then sends
out an antivirus and reverses everything that happened to go back to
her normal life.
Target Audience:
My target audience for my short film would be between the ages of 14
and 18. This is because they would be able to empathise the
characters. If the target audience was older, they would appreatiate
or understand the use of snapchat and other social media.
Form and Style: My film will be set now and therefore won’t have any
filters or styles to it. I will film it with the typical
cinematography for whatever fits the shot best.
Marketplace: I think there is a place in the market for my film. I
think it’s similar to other films but I’ve never seen something
exactly like this.
