Where is the day of the dead celebrated? Mexico and parts of the United States and Central America.
1) When is it celebrated? November 1st and 2nd
2) What is pan de muerto? “Bread of the dead” a sweet food.
3) Is the day of the dead considered a sad time or a festive one? It’s not a sad time. It’s a time for remembering and rejoicing
4) What is an ofrenda? (give details) Means offering in spanish. The essential part of Día de los Muertos celebrations.
Why are they set up? They are set up to remember their ancestors.
Where are they typically set up? On a table covered with a table cloth
5) What are calacas? Calacas - whimsical skeleton figures that represent death
