Create 2 equal sized & shaped
pinch pots to be joined together.
3. Creating a hollow sphere
that will become the
main foundation/form of
your “piggy bank” or
“skull”
4. Once you have a double pinch pot
form, you will be able to create any
creature, animal /combination for
your bank or a “Day of the Dead”
skull
5. The focus will be on the
TEXTURE of your creature,
animal/combo or “Day of the
Dead” skull.

Many families construct an altar to honor the
deceased relatives
Decorated with:
Candy, flowers, photographs, samples of
the deceased’s favorite foods, & drinks.
Often a wash basin & towel are left out so
that the spirit can wash before indulging in
the feast

10. Candles & incense are burned to help the
deceased find the way home.
Relatives would tidy/clean the gravesites of their
departed on October 31st
Graves were decorated with flowers, wreaths,
or paper streamers.
11. November 1st is “All Saints Day”
November 2nd is “All Souls’ Day”
Families would gather at the gravesite to picnic
& reminisce
