Three key approaches

  1. 1. Media Homework: Key Three Approaches
  2. 2. § Advertising is conducted on TV, radio, cinema, online, poster sites and in the press (newspapers, magazines). § What distinguishes advertising from other marketing communications is that media owners are paid before the advertiser can take space in the medium. § Other promotional methods include sales promotions, point of sale display, merchandising, direct mail, telemarketing, exhibitions, seminars, loyalty schemes, door drops, demonstrations, etc. § Manager – Organises what needs to be done and sets out deadlines and messages that need to be shown. § Graphic Designer – Designs how the print ad will look. § Sales – They make sure the ad is being shown everywhere. Media Organisations
  3. 3. § The denotation is to advertise and sell the breakfast McDonalds offer. § The main theme colour is red which usually represents love and warmth, this is used to lure in customers into believing that the food is made with love and will make them feel warm. § The steam coming from the hot drink shows the calmness, and as most young adults drink coffee/tea in the morning it instantly attracts them. § “Delicious starts right here” the use of the quotations is almost as if it is a quote from an actual customer which in another tool used to attract customer. § § § Meaning and Representation
  4. 4. § Although the ad is made out to seem that the food is healthy, it really isn't. The ad covers this up distracting customers using eye catching fonts and images. § Again ‘Serving People With Love Since 1955’ is another way that fools customers into buying the products. § The food sold is all cheap and affordable than the actual healthier options on offer so people are drawn into it as its more affordable. § Ethical Issues
