• Objectives:
   – The more interested and engaged,
     The easier for students to learn
   – HOW they learn, then WHAT they learn
   – Motivation is the key
   – Incorporate cultural projects
   – Meaningful and frequent assessment

The more interested, the easier to learn

    1. Action, Moving and Singing in beginner levels:
    – Immersion based and practical conversation
    – Greeting people with their name, surname & the
       preference to be called
    – Welcome song on every Monday
    – Act out thanks / sorry in a real situation
    – Tell and show “Where”
    – End the class with “Clean up” song
    – 3 Exit tickets

PINYIN - Sound System
Pinyin – indicate the sound:
1. Hang PINYIN posters in the classroom
2. Practice PINYIN with Rhythm:
   - Model two to three times
   - Clap, Clap and Snap, Snap
   - Who comes first, chant first
   - PINYIN
3. Assess PINYIN - use Chinese poem

 Write characters:
 1. Post eight stroke orders’ poster (next page)
 2. Before write characters, practice
    - Kung-fu stroke orders
    - Model two to three times
    - Motivation-write their “Chinese name”
 3. Assessment –write on the board
 4. Editing code– build a consistent system
