2. Who? What? When? Where?
Albert fish molested 400 children and
tortured and killed several others.
His main suspect which led the
police to him was Grace Budd. She
was a 10 year old girl with a family of
other children who lived in
Worcester, New York. Albert Fish
became close friends with this family
in order to gain their trust. He told the
family he wanted to take little Grace
to a birthday party with him and
because the family were close with
him they let her go with no hesitation.
That was the last time they were to
ever see Grace. Albert took her to an
abandoned house stripped her and
cut her into pieces so that he can eat
her. He had sent letters to Mrs. Budd
describing the awful things he did to
her daughter and because of his
careless mistake the cops were able
to locate him when he was found he
immediately confessed to killing
Grace and other children with a smile
on his face. . He was put on trial on
March 11, 1935 and tried to plea for
insanity but was sentenced to death
by electrocution on January 16,
1936.
3. Background
Fish was born May 19, 1870 in
Washington Dc. His family had
mental born illness. When he
was young his parents
abandoned him and he was
sent to an orphanage. He was
exposed to regular beatings and
very little education and learned
to work more with his hands
then his brains.
4. Forensic Evidence
The only evidence they were
able to find was a letter written
to the mother of Grace Budd
and letters to anonymous
females.
5. Other Ineresting Facts
According to Fish , he would lure children
away from their homes, torture them using
a paddle laced with sharp nails, then
raped them. The sexual fantasies he acted
out on children made him more addicted
and to end in murdering and cannibalizing
his young victims. In 1898, he married and
later fathered six children. After Fish’s wife
left him for another man, he began playing
games with his children that made them
beat him with a paddle until blood ran
down his legs. He also found enjoyment
from pushing needles deep into his skin.
After his marriage ended, Fish began
writing woman from listed in the personal
columns of the newspapers. He would
write graphic detail of sexual acts he
would like to share with the women. The
letters were never made public due to the
graphics, but were later used for evidence
in court.
