This document presents an analysis of congenital rubella and rubella infections during pregnancy in Italy from 2005 to 2013, reporting a total of 75 congenital rubella cases with an incidence of 1.5 per 100,000 live births. The study highlights the need for continued vaccination and monitoring procedures to reduce incidence levels in line with WHO goals. Despite an overall low incidence, two peaks in cases were observed in 2008 and 2012, indicating ongoing public health challenges associated with congenital rubella.
