Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem
Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your
worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is
just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall
physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You
find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or
unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting
words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low
self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving
the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines
that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to
ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do
not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence
structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles
on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are
not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day
or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so
stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of
your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at
it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter
how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what
to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right
direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or
things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been
evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made
schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their
own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make
learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more
problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason,
that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade
twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school
days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they
just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their
fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your
phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of
the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience
to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be
successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in
meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that
highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success
is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race,
religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for
everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It"
encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it
happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which
include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun
(Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed
the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am
also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as
confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to
work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Persuasive Essay On Daycare
Leaving your child with someone else as you head off to work every day is not easy: As a parent,
chances are, you long to be with your child 24/7. This is especially true for new parents. However,
once maternity leave has ended, even mom must return to work. While there are several child care
options available, one of the best options available is daycare. That said, choosing the daycare center
that suits the needs of your family best will require a bit of research.
Choosing a Daycare Provider: What Parents Need to Know
Some daycare providers have licensed caregivers. These licensed caregivers receive special training
to ensure the children are given exceptional care.
10 Signs of a Good Daycare Provider
1. A Stimulating Environment

Are the toys provided age–appropriate and in good shape? Ask about daily activities: These
activities should include talking, singing, dancing, reading and on–the–floor playtime.
2. Security
Any daycare that you choose should have a locked door policy. This ensures that your child cannot
just roam around the neighborhood. Ideally, only staff members, individuals touring the facility and
adults who are dropping off or picking up their children should be allowed in the center. All adult
visitors need to be closely monitored, including you!
3. Age–Group Separation
Toddlers and older children should not be mingling with babies who are under the age of
12–months. Toddlers can be highly–spirited and somewhat unsteady on their feet. In addition, they
have yet to master the art of being gentle with infants.
4. A Clean, Healthy Setting
Look for a health and sanitation rules sign. This sign should address hand washing procedures
related to food preparation and diaper changes. Additionally, it should outline the steps taken to wash
and sanitize toys, feeding utensils, and pacifiers, etc.
5. A Safe Setting

Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay
When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions
and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to
agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across
and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive
essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action;
giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for
others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to
write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much
as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all
into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the
research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to
help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able
to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the
meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my
writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. Giving my readers a better

Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line.
I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk.
Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward
to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Persuasive Essay On Eating Healthy
Should we really take eating healthy and exercising seriously? Exercise and eating healthy are two
of the most important things you need to do to take care of your body properly. Both exercise, and
eating healthy, have many advantages and benefits. They help with multiple things needed
throughout your life. These things include growing physically, mentally, and if you are religious,
spiritually as well. All of this adds up to your body functioning in the highest and best way
possible. People that has unhealthy eating habits, is at severe risk for obesity, diabetes and possible
stroke. Unhealthy eating habits have a harmful effect on the body. Today, Americans debate whether
eating healthy or exercising is worth the effort. According to Lisa Sherman, author of The Journal
of Chinese Medicine, "Exercise may make it easier to make healthy food choices by changing parts
of the brain that influence impulsive behavior. A review paper by US and Spanish authors proposes
that physical activity helps to enhance 'top–down' inhibitory control in the brain, making it easier to
resist unhealthy food and instead choose healthy options" (June 2012): p82. Thanks to our most
popular fast food restaurants, such as, McDonalds, Wendy's, Olive Garden etc. How could people
trick their brains into declining fast food and choose a more healthier option. There are a couple of
easy changes you can make that can have a profound effect on satiety – how full you feel. Research
shows that using smaller crockery tends to trick our brains into believing we are eating more, a
psychological phenomenon that can best be illustrated by looking at the Delboeuf optical illusion.
If you put two identical portions of food on a big plate and a small plate, the portion on the bigger
plate will look smaller, and vice versa: our brains can't help but be fooled by this effect, even when
we know they are the same. Consequently, eating unhealthy food choices could increase the risk of
diabetes. Having diabetes is something nobody wants, but could also not always be avoided. A
person could have diabetes and not know about it. According to, NIH.org, some of the symptoms of
diabetes are, increased of thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger, unexplained

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...
You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds
the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job
to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this
essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there
reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot
before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here,
this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In
the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered
this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you

reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point

Persuasive Essay On Coffee
Coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide. Eighty–three percent of Americans drink
coffee daily, and some more than one cup. Coffee is made by the grinding of roasted coffee seeds,
also known as coffee beans, adding hot water allowing it to flow through the coffee grinds. Coffee
was traditionally introduced as an energy booster to get people through the day. Today, coffee is also
a social mechanism where people feel required to drink it every day. The aspect that makes coffee so
addictive is the caffeine. Caffeine is not addictive the way meth or cocaine is but regular use of
caffeine as a stimulate, can cause mild physical dependence. However, coffee is addicting it does
allow many health benefits. Coffee can reduce the risk of type two diabetes and increase the
possibility of preventing oral cancers. But like all good things, drinking coffee should not be
abused, like coach Phil from Kicking & Screaming, who throughout the main part of the movie,
chugged cups after cups of cappuccinos. Drinking a large amount of coffee does pose several
cons. A con of coffee is an increase in anxiety, and have a negative effect on prescribed medicine.
Although many only use coffees to boost energy early in the morning, this drink can be used to
help with problems. Coffee can reduce the risk of type two diabetes, which is important when
living in the world today. Type two diabetes is a very serious and complicated condition, coffee
helps control one's blood and glucose

Graphic Design Persuasive Essay
Many people will argue that money and esteem is earned from hard work and determination.
However, that's not the case for graphic designers. Graphic design is a job that requires no effort
or talent, and is the easiest and fastest way to earn money and esteem. Graphic design is the best
job because it can be easily learned, it gives certain privileges, and because it supplies a good amount
of money. Graphic design is one of the easiest things to success in.. First off, there are hundreds of
programs that supply programs for graphic design. Free programs such as GIMP, Paint.net, and
Adobe Fireworks are used by real graphic designers in today's work place. These programs can be
easily accessible, and can be found on their represented...show more content...
Along with it being easy to master, graphic design can also supply a large amount of money. This
is because there are so many websites dedicated to it. As said before, putting designs on numerous
websites increases the chances that someone will buy them. Certain websites even have different
prices, which is actually a very good point. Some websites will sell designs for up to $30.00, while
some only $5.00 or $10.00 dollars. It is a statistical fact that most people will buy cheaper designs,
while some people still buying expensive ones. Either way, both websites will generate the same
amount of profit. To go along with this, average graphic designers in America today make over
$40,000 a year. That is a more than the average salary of an American today, just for doing barely
any work. In some cases, graphic designers can make over $60,000 a year, an outrageous salary for
doing barely any work. Graphic design is a very easy way to earn money, but it is also a great way to
save money. Most websites have services that give a rewards for posting designs. Posting designs
can usually make posters and t–shirt designs cheaper and easier to buy. Many websites similar to
Redbubble do this. To along with saving money, making custom designs can do this as well. It
would be a waste of money to buy an expensive poster or t–shirt design, when creating a custom one
is so easy. Lastly, learning graphic design gives many numerous and varied privileges. For

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and
communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's
views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from
the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying
definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene,
from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic
interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as
a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more
consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared
to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely
range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If
an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with
it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill
Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where
an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is
easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or
racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as
simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San
Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric,
and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know
that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication
In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience
in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having
well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of
writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again,
analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing
the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader.
In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online
English course. Each writing assignment...show more content...
Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more
academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the
discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT
Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is
chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing.
Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently
in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in
different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the
formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the
public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the
formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing
my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the
world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard.
Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a
decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). The formality

Persuasive Essay On Social Work
The social work profession and my life experiences have taught me that we all at one point of our
lives have been in the position of asking for help. For some people asking for help may be an
effortless task, but for others, asking for help may involve challenging cultural and family values.
This paper will focus on a period in my life when asking for help signified a huge personal
challenge, as I was taught growing up that I should keep my personal problems to myself and not
involve third parties. I moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic at age 16. I can
certainly state that this has been the most difficult time of my life thus far. Besides going through
physical, social and cultural changes, I was also facing the divorce of my parents. Although I had
been an "A" student in the Dominican Republic, I was doing very poorly in high school as a
result of these combined struggles and the fact that I was still learning the language. After
struggling for several months, I wrote a letter stating all of my problems and that I did not want
to be alive. A week after writing the letter, I decided to give it to my school counselor. I gave it to
her because I didn't want to aggravate or worry my mother and felt that she could do nothing to
help me. I believed the counselor was in a position to actually help me with my problems. At the
point that I decided to give my counselor the letter, I was feeling very anxious, overwhelmed and
stressed, and I did not know what else to do. I felt hopeless about the whole situation; I had been
forced to come to the United States, and when I arrived, I was forced to confront the reality of my
parents' divorce. I couldn't make decisions for myself because I was a minor, so the power was in
my parents' hands, and they weren't doing anything that seemed productive or helpful to me. In
going to my counselor with the letter, I was looking for someone who had the power to help me. In
the exchange with the counselor, she had all the power in our relationship. I felt somewhat
comfortable approaching her because we were both Hispanics and immigrants. The most significant
aspects of my positionality in this context, were my age and my education. My counselor was
educated and

Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness,
love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it
should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of
one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face
of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of
one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the
rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This
topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be
subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the
third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second
leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a
someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss
of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately
494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization
(WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second
leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide
more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use
more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in
America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it
causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to
blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you,
you are wrong. When you think

Persuasive Essay On Inclusive Education
Gretchen Walsh, a special education professional with a masters in education stated, "Inclusion is
important because through our diversity we certainly add to our creativity. If you don't have a
diverse classroom or a diverse world, you don't have the same creative levels and I think our
strength lies in our diversity" (What is inclusion?). Inclusion is the integration of students with
disabilities into a general education classroom receiving accommodations and services necessary for
their specific needs. Inclusion is beneficial for all students because diversity is critical and results in
better academic outcomes and social connections (Willis, J.). Inclusion varies by extent of assistance
needed and it provides students with disabilities the opportunity to learn beside a diverse range of
students. Overall, inclusive education is a current implementation in schools and has been proven to
positively impact students' lives.
Classes today are more diverse than ever and students with learning disabilities contribute to this. It
is important to recognize the great modification in the past two decades that has led to the growth of
inclusive education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act commenced in 1997 and
requires that all public schools in America offer a free education to students with disabilities in the
least restrictive environment, and this federal law is responsible for the application of inclusive
education. It also requires the creation of individualized

Persuasive Essay On Cyber Security
Over the past few years we have seen a massive surge in terrorist attacks carried out by Islamic
fundamentalists, which has forced the US government to take action in hopes of preventing future
attacks. Part of this action has come in the form of increased online surveillance on US citizens. At
first glance, the danger in this is not immediately apparent, but with the information leaked by
Edward Snowden it is becoming all too clear what kind of danger this represents. To be perfectly
clear, the purpose of this paper is not to delve into conspiracy theories about the government using
this surveillance to keeps its citizens in check like some Orwellian dystopian society. Rather, this is
simply to highlight how dangerous the methods used in this type of surveillance is to cyber security,
and how inefficient it is at stopping terrorism. In the past, terrorism is something that has always
had a presence in the world be live in, whether it be from racial/ethnic supremacists, radical
nationalists, religious zealots, or anarchists. Regardless of which group it was that claimed
responsibility for a heinous act of violence, people did not live in fear of being a victim of a
terrorist attack, because the attacks were either so infrequent or small in scale, it just registered as
an unfortunate tragedy. Now all of that has changed, if a person were to ask, "Where was it that
fifteen people were killed in that ISIS attack last year?" They would most likely be asked, "Which
one?" It

Topic For A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive. By delivering Eric Thomas's speech in his unique hip Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Daycare Leaving your child with someone else as you head off to work every day is not easy: As a parent, chances are, you long to be with your child 24/7. This is especially true for new parents. However, once maternity leave has ended, even mom must return to work. While there are several child care options available, one of the best options available is daycare. That said, choosing the daycare center that suits the needs of your family best will require a bit of research. Choosing a Daycare Provider: What Parents Need to Know Some daycare providers have licensed caregivers. These licensed caregivers receive special training to ensure the children are given exceptional care. 10 Signs of a Good Daycare Provider 1. A Stimulating Environment When you...show more content... Ideally, only staff members, individuals touring the facility and adults who are dropping off or picking up their children should be allowed in the center. All adult visitors need to be closely monitored, including you! 3. Age–Group Separation Toddlers and older children should not be mingling with babies who are under the age of 12–months. Toddlers can be highly–spirited and somewhat unsteady on their feet. In addition, they have yet to master the art of being gentle with infants. 4. A Clean, Healthy Setting Look for a health and sanitation rules sign. This sign should address hand washing procedures related to food preparation and diaper changes. Additionally, it should outline the steps taken to wash and sanitize toys, feeding utensils, and pacifiers, etc. 5. A Safe Setting Make sure there are: Gates blocking stairways No choking

  • 7. Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. • 8. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Eating Healthy Should we really take eating healthy and exercising seriously? Exercise and eating healthy are two of the most important things you need to do to take care of your body properly. Both exercise, and eating healthy, have many advantages and benefits. They help with multiple things needed throughout your life. These things include growing physically, mentally, and if you are religious, spiritually as well. All of this adds up to your body functioning in the highest and best way possible. People that has unhealthy eating habits, is at severe risk for obesity, diabetes and possible stroke. Unhealthy eating habits have a harmful effect on the body. Today, Americans debate whether eating healthy or exercising is worth the effort. According to Lisa Sherman, author of The Journal of Chinese Medicine, "Exercise may make it easier to make healthy food choices by changing parts of the brain that influence impulsive behavior. A review paper by US and Spanish authors proposes that physical activity helps to enhance 'top–down' inhibitory control in the brain, making it easier to resist unhealthy food and instead choose healthy options" (June 2012): p82. Thanks to our most popular fast food restaurants, such as, McDonalds, Wendy's, Olive Garden etc. How could people trick their brains into declining fast food and choose a more healthier option. There are a couple of easy changes you can make that can have a profound effect on satiety – how full you feel. Research shows that using smaller crockery tends to trick our brains into believing we are eating more, a psychological phenomenon that can best be illustrated by looking at the Delboeuf optical illusion. If you put two identical portions of food on a big plate and a small plate, the portion on the bigger plate will look smaller, and vice versa: our brains can't help but be fooled by this effect, even when we know they are the same. Consequently, eating unhealthy food choices could increase the risk of diabetes. Having diabetes is something nobody wants, but could also not always be avoided. A person could have diabetes and not know about it. According to, NIH.org, some of the symptoms of diabetes are, increased of thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger, unexplained Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Writing Prompts It happens to every driver eventually. You're barreling through enemy territory, eyes darting back and forth scanning for raiders. You spot a spike trap, you turn sharply, but it's too late! Bang! The sun–faded hula girl on the dashboard dances to the sound of rubber slapping against highway. You climb out of your battle barge, open the cargo hatch and see the rig's last spare tire, sitting on top of it is a red cooler; sweaty from the desert sun. It's the perfect size for a bag of ice and the fresh kidney your war chief awaits. Follow this simple guide to changing a flat tire and you will be held aloft by your war party in celebration, or fail and be consumed by the poison gas cloud that pursues you. • 11. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On Coffee Coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide. Eighty–three percent of Americans drink coffee daily, and some more than one cup. Coffee is made by the grinding of roasted coffee seeds, also known as coffee beans, adding hot water allowing it to flow through the coffee grinds. Coffee was traditionally introduced as an energy booster to get people through the day. Today, coffee is also a social mechanism where people feel required to drink it every day. The aspect that makes coffee so addictive is the caffeine. Caffeine is not addictive the way meth or cocaine is but regular use of caffeine as a stimulate, can cause mild physical dependence. However, coffee is addicting it does allow many health benefits. Coffee can reduce the risk of type two diabetes and increase the possibility of preventing oral cancers. But like all good things, drinking coffee should not be abused, like coach Phil from Kicking & Screaming, who throughout the main part of the movie, chugged cups after cups of cappuccinos. Drinking a large amount of coffee does pose several cons. A con of coffee is an increase in anxiety, and have a negative effect on prescribed medicine. Although many only use coffees to boost energy early in the morning, this drink can be used to help with problems. Coffee can reduce the risk of type two diabetes, which is important when living in the world today. Type two diabetes is a very serious and complicated condition, coffee helps control one's blood and glucose Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Graphic Design Persuasive Essay Many people will argue that money and esteem is earned from hard work and determination. However, that's not the case for graphic designers. Graphic design is a job that requires no effort or talent, and is the easiest and fastest way to earn money and esteem. Graphic design is the best job because it can be easily learned, it gives certain privileges, and because it supplies a good amount of money. Graphic design is one of the easiest things to success in.. First off, there are hundreds of programs that supply programs for graphic design. This is because there are so many websites dedicated to it. As said before, putting designs on numerous websites increases the chances that someone will buy them. Certain websites even have different prices, which is actually a very good point. Some websites will sell designs for up to $30.00, while some only $5.00 or $10.00 dollars. It is a statistical fact that most people will buy cheaper designs, while some people still buying expensive ones. Either way, both websites will generate the same amount of profit. To go along with this, average graphic designers in America today make over $40,000 a year. That is a more than the average salary of an American today, just for doing barely any work. In some cases, graphic designers can make over $60,000 a year, an outrageous salary for doing barely any work. Graphic design is a very easy way to earn money, but it is also a great way to save money. Most websites have services that give a rewards for posting designs. Posting designs can usually make posters and t–shirt designs cheaper and easier to buy. Many websites similar to Redbubble do this. To along with saving money, making custom designs can do this as well. It would be a waste of money to buy an expensive poster or t–shirt design, when creating a custom one is so easy. • 14. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple. A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader. In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment...show more content... Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing. Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard. Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). • 16. Persuasive Essay On Social Work The social work profession and my life experiences have taught me that we all at one point of our lives have been in the position of asking for help. For some people asking for help may be an effortless task, but for others, asking for help may involve challenging cultural and family values. This paper will focus on a period in my life when asking for help signified a huge personal challenge, as I was taught growing up that I should keep my personal problems to myself and not involve third parties. I moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic at age 16. I can certainly state that this has been the most difficult time of my life thus far. Besides going through physical, social and cultural changes, I was also facing the divorce of my parents. Although I had been an "A" student in the Dominican Republic, I was doing very poorly in high school as a result of these combined struggles and the fact that I was still learning the language. After struggling for several months, I wrote a letter stating all of my problems and that I did not want to be alive. A week after writing the letter, I decided to give it to my school counselor. I gave it to her because I didn't want to aggravate or worry my mother and felt that she could do nothing to help me. I believed the counselor was in a position to actually help me with my problems. At the point that I decided to give my counselor the letter, I was feeling very anxious, overwhelmed and stressed, and I did not know what else to do. I felt hopeless about the whole situation; I had been forced to come to the United States, and when I arrived, I was forced to confront the reality of my parents' divorce. I couldn't make decisions for myself because I was a minor, so the power was in my parents' hands, and they weren't doing anything that seemed productive or helpful to me. In going to my counselor with the letter, I was looking for someone who had the power to help me. In the exchange with the counselor, she had all the power in our relationship. I felt somewhat comfortable approaching her because we were both Hispanics and immigrants. The most significant aspects of my positionality in this context, were my age and my education. My counselor was educated and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Inclusive Education Gretchen Walsh, a special education professional with a masters in education stated, "Inclusion is important because through our diversity we certainly add to our creativity. If you don't have a diverse classroom or a diverse world, you don't have the same creative levels and I think our strength lies in our diversity" (What is inclusion?). Inclusion is the integration of students with disabilities into a general education classroom receiving accommodations and services necessary for their specific needs. Inclusion is beneficial for all students because diversity is critical and results in better academic outcomes and social connections (Willis, J.). Inclusion varies by extent of assistance needed and it provides students with disabilities the opportunity to learn beside a diverse range of students. Overall, inclusive education is a current implementation in schools and has been proven to positively impact students' lives. Classes today are more diverse than ever and students with learning disabilities contribute to this. It is important to recognize the great modification in the past two decades that has led to the growth of inclusive education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act commenced in 1997 and requires that all public schools in America offer a free education to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, and this federal law is responsible for the application of inclusive education. It also requires the creation of individualized Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Cyber Security Over the past few years we have seen a massive surge in terrorist attacks carried out by Islamic fundamentalists, which has forced the US government to take action in hopes of preventing future attacks. Part of this action has come in the form of increased online surveillance on US citizens. At first glance, the danger in this is not immediately apparent, but with the information leaked by Edward Snowden it is becoming all too clear what kind of danger this represents. To be perfectly clear, the purpose of this paper is not to delve into conspiracy theories about the government using this surveillance to keeps its citizens in check like some Orwellian dystopian society. Rather, this is simply to highlight how dangerous the methods used in this type of surveillance is to cyber security, and how inefficient it is at stopping terrorism. In the past, terrorism is something that has always had a presence in the world be live in, whether it be from racial/ethnic supremacists, radical nationalists, religious zealots, or anarchists. Regardless of which group it was that claimed responsibility for a heinous act of violence, people did not live in fear of being a victim of a terrorist attack, because the attacks were either so infrequent or small in scale, it just registered as an unfortunate tragedy. Now all of that has changed, if a person were to ask, "Where was it that fifteen people were killed in that ISIS attack last year?" They would most likely be asked, "Which one?"
