Introduction
F5 Networks is a company based in America that specializes in
technology of application delivery networking (ADN) for the
network-based applications delivery and the performance,
security, server’s availability, devices of data storage, and other
resources of network. The company’s headquarter is in Seattle,
Washington. F5 Networks also has other manufacturing, sales
and development offices. Originally, F5 produced and sold load
balancing products. This company offers its products in diverse
sections of the application delivery controller (ADC) bazaar. F5
Networks assists different firms that scale cloud and data
centers to deliver applications to their clients at any time or
place without hitches (F5 Networks, 2016).
Company’s vision statement
The vision statement of F5 Networks is to help customers to
deploy applications wherever they want to.
Company's mission statement
The mission statement of the company is to help their customers
get secure, fast and available application.
Definition of the term company Strategy
Company strategy is a grouping of processes, policies, and
procedures that are used in helping a company operate in
accordance to its mission statement as well as attain goals, both
long-term and short-term. A general business strategy is multi-
layered, because it includes the harmonization of the operations
of all departments and divisions in the organization structure.
Company strategy also involves the general scope and
corporation direction as well as the way through which different
company operations work mutually to attain certain goals
F5 Networks’ Business strategies
F5 Networks has been enjoying great profits from its growth
initiatives that have been going on. The company is also
enjoying strong balance sheet, product innovation, friendly
moves from shareholders and good quarterly results. The
company has had great price appreciation due to the current
demand for security solutions and also its continuous launch of
its products. The company has further come up with products
like Software Defined Application Services (SDAS) that enables
event-driven and real time changes. F5 Networks has a pricing
strategy known as “Good, Better, Best” and improved
capabilities of BIG-IQ policy that together have helped to
rationalize the product portfolio and drive its continuous
revenue growth. The BIG-IQ software-based solution was
launched in 2013. It facilitates the BIG-IP devices management
and application services.
F5 has aligned various strategies in its goal of getting better.
One of them is its pricing strategy, where its products are
classified as good, better, and best. The strategy brought about
positive response from customers. Over 80% of their products
were sold under this strategy. F5 growth has also been enabled
by the security focus strategy. F5 introduced very competitive
portfolios of security solutions that deal with access policy
manager, advanced firewall manager and application security
manager. The company is receiving more and more contracts for
its Versafe services like anti-phishing, anti-malware solutions
and Internet anti-fraud.
Another strategy applied by F5 networks is partnership. This
company partnered with VMwareso as to strengthen its portfolio
of security. These two companies are now working on offering
security to the mobile personnel. They aim at securing access
applications regardless of the user’s location. The two
companies are also focusing on minimizing costs and ensuring
that deployment is easy. With VMware being a major player in
automation, virtualization and cloud management, F5
partnership to the company was indeed strategic. The company
has seen increase in revenue as a result of the partnership
(Gregg, 2015).
In another strategy, F5 Networks is working to trump over
Cisco. The company aims at gaining from the problems that
Cisco is going through currently. After the last year’s spying
scandal that emerged on Cisco, the company is currently
suffering confidence crisis. Further the credentials of Cisco Inc.
were greatly damaged after the revelation that the Heartbleed
bug had effects on its services and products. According to
information released by Cisco 11 of its products and 2services
got vulnerable to the Heartbleed scandal. Strategically, F5 has
been capitalizing on the troubles of Cisco through stating that
its products are resistant to the susceptibility. The management
of F5 has been assuring its customers that it is well protected
from the Heartbleed bug because it utilizes OpenSSL (Mukesh,
2014).
Does the company's strategy match their vision and mission
statements?
Yes, F5 Networks are matching their vision and mission
statements. The company is demonstrating very strong strategic
goals in ensuring that their customers are able to deploy
applications despite their locations, and also do that in a fast
and secure manner. F5 Networks are also getting more new
contracts due to their enhanced product innovation and their
ability to remain competitive among its competitors. The
company is managing to deliver fast services, more innovative
services through partnership as well as more secure services
than its competitors (Ed & Kim, 2016)

1. Why can’t people have everything they want? How can you
teach “scarcity” in concrete and relevant ways to Pre K or
Kinder students?
It is not possible for people to have all what they want in their
life. The reason behind this boils down to the idea of “scarcity”.
Some people have access to some resources such as abundant
fertile land while others live in a desert rich in crude oil. The
desert residents need food while the farmers need petrol to
move their farm machines. It is a way of nature to make nations
and people economically interdependent to each other. Scarcity
is also significant in that it makes mankind to have choices
(Noyes, 2015). For this reason, no one, not even a country or
region regardless of how rich in resources it could be has all
that is wanted to have a satisfactory and a self-sufficient live.
Therefore, scarcity as studied in economics drives choices
towards ensuring that humans strive to get what they want to
satisfy the immediate needs.
In an attempt to make Pre K understand “scarcity”, first they
need to know that we live in a world where people live based on
choices we make. The reason for choices is to ensure that we
satisfy the most basic needs first for us to live. However, I think
the Pre K needs to also understand that even though people may
have multiple choices to make, some people or nations find it
hard to make the right choices and quite often make mistakes in
deciding what is a necessity and what is secondary choice for a
success in life. A good example for the pre K to understand
scarcity and choices is, if one of the kids taking art class gets a
token of $ 1.00 from their parents to by cookies. Unfortunately,
before buying the cookies notices that the kid lost her pencil
and she is already away from home. The child must choose the
most basic at the time. Here she will forgo the cookies and
purchase a pencil because it becomes a necessity in that
situation. Some kids may make a wrong choice and purchase the
cookies and forget about the pencil and end up unable to take
class notes and drawings. This example will make the kids
understand “scarcity” and “choices”. It is important for the Pre
K to know that the choices we make in life makes us who we are
in future.

2. Why is it important to educate children to genuine
democracy? How is that different from indoctrination? Give an
example of both.
Children need to be educated to a genuine democracy. Kids that
grow in a free society develop self-awareness and are able to
mature with a conscious mind. In mature democracies, children
that going through a curriculum that allow them learn from the
early stages about the children’s rights and as they mature get to
know the rights of a citizen is a great significance the nations
towards nurturing citizen participation and self-determined
population for a great free future for all (Kirillov et al., 2016).
Children educated in a genuine democratic system develop
values that enable them understand their environment and can
quickly adapted to multi-diversified societies. Some of this
values include, but is not limited to right to be heard (Kirillov
et al., 2016). From schools, they learn to project their opinion
and express their views freely. In a reciprocal manner, they also
are expected to learn how to listen to others as well. By so
doing they grow aware that people have different views on
issues and that could depend on the socialization, experiences
and preferences. With the recent effect of globalization, and the
open market, these values will enable them cope easily in a
cross cultural context because they are open and free thinkers.
Values of justice, respect and trust is core in a genuine
democracy. Impending the values in a children’s curriculum at
early stages will ensure that this kind understand what is just in
interpersonal relationships and understand why it is important
to respect and always to others what is just because it is a basic
and moral value universal to all human Beings (Kirillov et al.,
2016). When democracy taught at early stage to kinds they grow
up to exhibit free thought and are able to question about things
which drives the society away from cynicism and bends towards
just cause.
Indoctrination and genuine democracy differ in that
indoctrination bends towards religious teachings. It impedes
free thought and thus people are coerced to believe and act as
the teachings state (Kirillov et al., 2016). Those who question
issues that may be obscure are seen as deviant and in some
religions, that are traditionally closed such as Islam, people end
up being stoned to death. Just is always not given in
indoctrination system. In a genuine democracy, anyone can
question whatever they think feel suspicious of in the society.
People have freedom of speech and opinion and choice unlike in
indoctrination.

F5 Networks has a pricing strategy known as “Good, Better, Best” and improved capabilities of BIG-IQ policy that together have helped to rationalize the product portfolio and drive its continuous revenue growth. The BIG-IQ software-based solution was launched in 2013. It facilitates the BIG-IP devices management and application services. F5 has aligned various strategies in its goal of getting better. These two companies are now working on offering security to the mobile personnel. They aim at securing access applications regardless of the user’s location. • 7. few-reasons-why-f5-networks-can-rise-further.aspx 300 words each question · · 1. Why can’t people have everything they want? How can you teach “scarcity” in concrete and relevant ways to Pre K or Kinder students? It is not possible for people to have all what they want in their life. The reason behind this boils down to the idea of “scarcity”. Some people have access to some resources such as abundant fertile land while others live in a desert rich in crude oil. The desert residents need food while the farmers need petrol to move their farm machines. It is a way of nature to make nations and people economically interdependent to each other. Scarcity is also significant in that it makes mankind to have choices (Noyes, 2015). For this reason, no one, not even a country or region regardless of how rich in resources it could be has all that is wanted to have a satisfactory and a self-sufficient live. Therefore, scarcity as studied in economics drives choices towards ensuring that humans strive to get what they want to satisfy the immediate needs. In an attempt to make Pre K understand “scarcity”, first they need to know that we live in a world where people live based on choices we make. The reason for choices is to ensure that we satisfy the most basic needs first for us to live. However, I think the Pre K needs to also understand that even though people may have multiple choices to make, some people or nations find it hard to make the right choices and quite often make mistakes in deciding what is a necessity and what is secondary choice for a success in life. A good example for the pre K to understand scarcity and choices is, if one of the kids taking art class gets a token of $ 1.00 from their parents to by cookies. Unfortunately, before buying the cookies notices that the kid lost her pencil and she is already away from home. The child must choose the
  • 8. most basic at the time. Here she will forgo the cookies and purchase a pencil because it becomes a necessity in that situation. Some kids may make a wrong choice and purchase the cookies and forget about the pencil and end up unable to take class notes and drawings. This example will make the kids understand “scarcity” and “choices”. It is important for the Pre K to know that the choices we make in life makes us who we are in future. References Noyes, D. (2015). Fairy-Tale Economics: Scarcity, Risk, Choice. Narrative Culture, 2(1), 1-26. 2. Why is it important to educate children to genuine democracy? How is that different from indoctrination? Give an example of both. Children need to be educated to a genuine democracy. Kids that grow in a free society develop self-awareness and are able to mature with a conscious mind. In mature democracies, children that going through a curriculum that allow them learn from the early stages about the children’s rights and as they mature get to know the rights of a citizen is a great significance the nations towards nurturing citizen participation and self-determined population for a great free future for all (Kirillov et al., 2016). Children educated in a genuine democratic system develop values that enable them understand their environment and can quickly adapted to multi-diversified societies. Some of this values include, but is not limited to right to be heard (Kirillov et al., 2016). From schools, they learn to project their opinion and express their views freely. In a reciprocal manner, they also are expected to learn how to listen to others as well. By so doing they grow aware that people have different views on issues and that could depend on the socialization, experiences and preferences. With the recent effect of globalization, and the open market, these values will enable them cope easily in a cross cultural context because they are open and free thinkers.
  • 9. Values of justice, respect and trust is core in a genuine democracy. Impending the values in a children’s curriculum at early stages will ensure that this kind understand what is just in interpersonal relationships and understand why it is important to respect and always to others what is just because it is a basic and moral value universal to all human Beings (Kirillov et al., 2016). When democracy taught at early stage to kinds they grow up to exhibit free thought and are able to question about things which drives the society away from cynicism and bends towards just cause. Indoctrination and genuine democracy differ in that indoctrination bends towards religious teachings. It impedes free thought and thus people are coerced to believe and act as the teachings state (Kirillov et al., 2016). Those who question issues that may be obscure are seen as deviant and in some religions, that are traditionally closed such as Islam, people end up being stoned to death. Just is always not given in indoctrination system. In a genuine democracy, anyone can question whatever they think feel suspicious of in the society. People have freedom of speech and opinion and choice unlike in indoctrination. References Kirillov, N. P., Fadeeva, V. N., & Fadeev, V. V. (2016, January). Modern philosophy of education.
