Essay About A Love Story
Now–
Hani cried into him. This was not to be a love story, or one with a happy ending at all was it? There was never to be a finality. This would never end.
Never. Hani would live forever, just as Lee should have, but he had given his life to her... his very soul. He would die here in her arms, and she would
be alone. No hope. No love.
Six months ago–
Hani sighed. "It's funny... how I became a vet in hopes to save lives."
He just looked at her curiously. "you saved mine that night." He reminded her.
Hani started spacing out. Lost in thought. Then the flashback came. That night... the memory was vivid in her mind. She had been heading back to
her home in the heavy rain, when she saw him soaking wet, and bleeding out. The wound in his side was gleaming red in the dim light of dusk in the
rain. Though he had almost no strength left, he pleaded to her not to call an ambulance. His voice was strained. Any of the ragged breaths he took now
could be his last.
Shaking with the effort of dragging him along, she finally brought him to her vet. She lay his limp body to the floor. She was not licensed to treat
another human, but to protect life was the way she would eventually go. It all came down to this. Every moment was to be made use of. She dashed
into another room, and seconds later darted back out, with all of the necessary medical supplies. Dropping down to her knees by his side, she pulled
his shirt up a little to get a better look at his wound. It looked like he was stabbed

Benefits in Youth Football
Since the creation of man, sports have had a tremendous role in the way people live their lives. From the time we are born, until our elderly age, most
of us are involved in some way with sports. Whether it is a scrimmage game of soccer at recess in elementary school, playing on the varsity athletic
team or simply watching the Olympics or sporting events on television, sports have an influential role in our everyday lives. The outstanding popularity
of the sports industry has profoundly affected youth sports organizations that an estimated twenty–six million children ages six through eighteen
participate in at least one school or community based athletic program (Smith & Smoll, 1997). Well structured sport programs can provide youths with

This is a large boost in the physically disabled youth's self–esteem because that youth knows that their participation in sport allows them the
opportunity to advance in sport just like a healthy youth can.
Physical activity is essential for children; therefore sport participation has many physical benefits for youths (Willox, 1994). In the United States
there is a very unhealthy trend of physically unfit children going on. According to a recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health seven out
of ten kids in our nation are out of shape and the incidence of obesity has increased by more than 50 percent among America's children and teen
since 1976 and continues to grow at a staggering rate (Metzel & Shookhoff, 2006). When children participate in sports activities they get some of the
exercise they need to improve their quality of life and can help prevent children from becoming obese. Physical activity regulates obesity because it
increases energy expenditure, suppresses appetite, increases metabolic rate, and increases lean body mass (Willox, 1994). Even though regular physical
sport activity has been shown to improve physical fitness, it can also help in preventing many different health problems down the line that youths who
participate in sports are more likely not to develop than youths who do not participate in sports. Women who participated in organized sport and fitness

Dog Vomiting Research Paper
A dog owner in Pennsylvania got a surprise when she took her pet to the vet with stomach woes. Surgery was required to relieve the dog of an unusual
range of stomach contents that included eight pairs of underwear. As the parent of a fur baby, it can sometimes be hard to decide whether a delicate
tum is a short–lived affair, or warrants a trip down to the vet quick smart. Here are five signs that may help you better understand why your dog is
unwell, so that you can make a more informed decision before getting into the car.
Vomiting
Let's start with the most common signs that your canine is not well, and that is the presence of dog vomit somewhere you really would not like it to
be. Vomiting is caused by a number of different reasons, including:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you are not aware of foods that can be toxic to dogs, here's a couple of the bad guys:
Avocado. Persin is a compound that is found within avocados and while it does no harm to humans, it will make your dog ill. If your pet gets into the
bowl of guacamole, take them to the vet.
Coffee. Have you ever tried to take a break from a one cup a day coffee habit? That caffeine addiction is not easy to break. If your dog has a drink of
your coffee, they could experience heart palpitations, increased breathing or internal bleeding. They need to be seen by your vet before permanent
internal damage is done.
Other foods that could cause problem include alcoholic beverages, chocolate and grapes. Call your vet if you unsure about something your pet has
consumed.
Now that you are better informed, you have a better idea of when you need to take them immediately to the vet when stomach troubles strike. While
mild intestinal disorders will strike your dog during its lifetime, moving your underwear to an unreachable shelf will at least prevent that being the
cause of a vet

Old Smeller: A Short Story
Old Smeller It was Lilian's big day. Dr. and Mrs. Vandertramp were thrilled that Lillian was so happy on her 9th birthday. Her smile was so bright
when she went down(Desendre) the stairs that day. They were throwing her a party with all of her friends coming. The party didn't start till 1:30
so she still had plenty of time to get ready. She wore a big pink dress with a plump pink bow on the back. She went out(Sortir) the back door to the
backyard and all her friends were there. She looked on the present table and was so excited to see all the big packages. She had no idea what could
be in any of them. Her parents had said that she couldn't open them until they had some fun and ate cake. So Lilian had some fun playing games and

him to see if he was okay, but he didn't look so good, he couldn't even stand back up. So Dr. and Mrs. Vandertramp decided to take him to the vet.
When they arrived(Arriver) at the vet they took Old Smeller out of the car and took him to the doctor in the vet's office. They waited in the waiting
room while the doctor checked on their dog. When the doctor returned(Retourner) to the waiting room with Old Smeller she told then that Old
Smeller he became(Devenir) sick and he couldn't stand back up right away because he was getting old and that there was nothing they could do.
She told them that the best thing to do was to take him home and make sure he was comfortable in his last moment with them. Lilian was feeling
surprisingly sad to hear about the end of her new dog's life being so close. She had only had him for about a week but she had spent so much time
with him. So they went back(Revenir) home and made sure Old Smeller was in his soft doggy bed, and Lilian even let him lay on her favorite
blanket. Lilian was about to go(Aller) get Old Smeller some water until she noticed it just looked like he

What Does Digger Mean
Digger It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the grass was green, in middle of the yard was a trampoline. The net was black and the mat
that covered the grey silver springs was a medium dark blue and has holes from the dogs going up and down and up and down. You could hear the
paws go off the mat and makes the spring go back to it's original position, I was doing a flip. Five minutes had passed before I heard a vomit noise
that sounded like water coming down a faucet. Then I saw Digger, Digger was a golden retriever with dark eyes and a pink nose. His nose was pink
because he would stick it in the sparkly white snow every white winter. Right there Digger was trying to tell me something, you just know that feeling.
So I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whenever I got home from school I would think that I would see Digger right there by the door. But then I realized that he's not there then I
became so sad that I felt like my whole world just crumbled to pieces. I was standing on top of it with no one there to give me a big bear hug to make
me feel better. But not that sad because I know that Digger will always be in my heart forever. Until the day that I die I know that I will see him again
one day but until that day he will be in my heart. A week passed by and we could not live without a dog it felt like there were no animals in this world
to comfort you. So we got two new know dogs, There names are Maya and Riley. Maya is a half black lab and half doberman and Riley is half red
healer and half german shepherd even though they are not a big fan of one and another they still are amazing dogs. Digger has informed me that
the things that you love the most will always stay in your heart even if they are not there by your side. This quote just means a lot to me "IF THERE
ARE NO DOGS IN HEAVEN,THEN WHEN I DIE I WANT TO GO WHERE THEY WENT,"

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Choking Dog

The Choking Dog "Come on, come on, move it, idiot!" Joanne beat impatiently on the steering wheel of her Mercedes sports car. How stupid to get
caught up in the rush hour! She had planned to leave work early this afternoon, at three o'clock, to give herself a chance to relax and have a bath

dealing with the man. When she came out of her office, all the other staff in the Highlight Advertising Agency had already left. Now she was stuck in

Ralph's Monologue
Hope
I knew I had to do something as Ralph knocked Phil over. So I pulled my dog whistle out of my pocket and blew as hard as I could. It hurt to see
Ralph in pain, however, it hurt even more to see the light in his eyes change to evil slits as he grasped Richard's arm. He halted, suddenly, and
shook his head heavily. That's when I charged at him, swiped the chain from my bag, and flung it around Ralph. I could tell he was becoming dizzy
as I constricted it, but I kept going. I knew I had to make him black out, I had to. So I did. I gave the chain a final tug and stepped back. I knew his
vision was almost black as he tried to thrust himself at me. Instead, he launched in the wrong direction and flew of the small cliff. He went crashing ...

this plan?" "Only if you don't tell my family." "Fine, we have a deal."
He rushed off and I followed him. We went in to see Ralph. He had his eyes rolled back in his head and the vet grabbed something off the desk and
shot it in his chest. Suddenly the monitor gave a beep and his heart rate steadied. "Now I know you are not lying. Otherwise that would have killed
him... Amazing." "Told you."
Suddenly there was a slight wind and I watched as Ralph changed back to his original form. The vet was amazed. His jaw dropped to the floor. I
was also then that I saw what he looked like in human form. It was worse than anything I had ever seen even worse than he looked before. A sob

"Izzy, come here girl," I called, marching through the snow to get my dog. I grabbed her collar and began walking her to the house so I could go
eat breakfast. Though Izzy started to lose her hearing, I spoke with her as if she understood everything I said. As we trampled towards the house, I
took in the beauty of the Cheyenne winter. Once we reached the house and I put Izzy in her kennel, it dawned on me that my dog had arthritis and her
hearing started deteriorating. Finally out of the cold, I took off my wintertime coat and entered the house. After breakfast, I went downstairs to begin
school. "Hannah, you need to let Izzy, Nala, and Brodie out," my mom said, entering the school room. Reluctantly, I went to let them out. Again, I had to

My Love Of Education
Many people are on their own route towards what they consider receiving or claiming an education. Whether it be a formal or informal education,
we all approach obstacles that keep us away from a direction we may have our mind or even our heart set on. In this essay, I will describe my
experiences in which my education has brought me close to losing my temper and self–confidence.
I used to groom the knots of her black–and–white coat that would pile up on her belly. But, one day, I remember coming across a ball–like lump under
her skin. I moved it around to see if it bothered her, but she just lay there with her belly up, waiting for me to finish. The next morning, my dad and I
took her to the vet and found out they were benign tumors, but should be removed before they could turn into something more serious. My family
struggled to find the funds to remove the lumps. My love for animals, and particularly for my dog, Lyn Yang, quickly turned into dreams of being able
to remove the lumps myself. But at that point, I was helpless. I thought, maybe one day, I'd be a veterinarian and able to rid animals of their problems.
That was the beginning of the dream.
Growing up, I mostly stuck by my parents and they didn't stimulate my interest in animals. Even with all the time we spent at the vet, I never thought to
speak to a veterinarian. What did I know about job–shadowing? I now realize the importance of having real–life role–models, and someone to speak to
about my goals and aspirations. It's like Sonia Sotomayor said, "When a young person, even a gifted one, grows up without proximate living examples
of what she may aspire to become, her goal remains abstract."
In those days, in my environment, my dream to become a veterinarian gradually diminished. So much diminished during my teenage years. I found my
mind shrinking. I could feel my dream getting smaller and smaller. Instead of choosing a profession that could drive me, I let me community drive me
instead – and it got the best of me.
Life is different when you don't have a dream. I spent a lot of time in the streets. I had this small–minded definition of success, particularly when
everyone around me was making fast money. The slow–developing value of an education

Nursing Task DI-Dealing With Patients
Nursing Task DI– Dealing with clients
In this report, I will be explaining all of the situations and how they should be dealt with. The situations which I will be evaluating are animal
emergencies, euthanasia, animal escapes, complaints, routine advice and a dispute over payment.
Animal Emergencies
Animal emergencies can be very upsetting for the owners as their animals are part of their family. Animal emergencies could be anything from a simple
first aid to a more complicated situation. When dealing with this situation you need to make sure that you stay calm because it can help the owner get
reassurance that you know what you are doing and it can help you diagnose the animal quicker. If possible you should explain why the emergency has
occurred because this can help the owner prevent it from happening again and it might reassure them that they haven't done anything wrong. When
dealing with animal emergencies you should make sure that you provide the clients/animal with compassionate and high quality care. ( http:/

Minor emergencies are when the animal is injured but they won't need immediate treatment. Minor emergencies include: bites or stings from insects( if
the animal is allergic or this can be more serious ), minor wound (any bleeding wounds which are covered with a bandage, minor burns (small burns
and the animal might have little or none discomfort, blood in the animals urine or if the animal is limping (which could mean it has injured or lame).
With this type emergencies the animal can either be treated by the vet or the owner at home. The owner might phone the vet clinic for advice on what
to do. This advice could includes how to stop the animal bleeding or just by making the animal comfortable. The owner might book an appointment so
that the injured animal can be examined by the

Do Public Subsidies For Professional Athletic...
Do public subsidies for professional athletic organizations benefit their local community?
Sports teams, or professional athletic organization, are extremely important institutions within a city or region. They can help connect people with
places, and through this loyalty, a sense of civic pride can be seen. Furthermore, the multi–billion dollar industry sports produces effects that can impact
individuals and communities. In recent years dozens of new sports stadiums have been built throughout the country, with major funding coming from
public subsidies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the positive and negative impacts that come with these subsidies.
The issue at hand, however, is that power has shifted from the cities to the teams themselves. Professional athletic organizations have started taking
advantage of cities by threatening to relocate unless they get public subsidies for expensive stadium renovations and construction. With this in mind it
is imperative to ask today's question: Do public subsidies for professional athletic organizations benefit their local community? The way I plan on
conducting research is through a literary analysis, as I am a high school student with very few resources to gather large amounts of primary data. The
types of literature that will be in this paper will include studies, meta–analysis, news articles, and magazine articles. By gathering this information, I will
be more equipped to conduct more intensive research in the

The Worst Day Of My Life
I remember August 11th vividly because it was the worst day of my life. It's been one month since I lost my dog. He was an eight month old German
Shepherd that brought joy to everyone that he met. He was slightly taller than most german shepherds his age. Most of his body was covered in black
fur, his legs were a beige color. It looked like he was wearing Ugg boots all the time. His eyes reminded me of a flame because they were a crimson red
and orange. Most people said his eyes reminded them of sunsets that you see on a beach. The morning started off ok because I was sleeping, I worked
a long shift for work the previous night and I needed all the sleep I could get. It was 6:45 am, I remember because I looked at my phone when I was
awaken by a wailing noise. That noise still haunts me during the day when I'm alone or when I try to fall asleep. The only way I can describe the
wailing noise is to compare it to sirens from a police car. The wailing noise was coming from my dog because he was being run over. I threw the covers
aside because I knew that the noise was coming from my dog. I frantically ran down the stairs and I flung the door aside. Now that I think about it
when I opened the front door I was surprised the handle didn't detach itself from the door. I froze once the door was opened because I was paralyzed
once I realized what was going on. My dad was at the end of driveway trying to comfort my dog. I immediately ran to the end of the driveway, in

Watson enjoys playing golf at the country club. An 18–hole round generally takes him out of his office for about 4 hours of relaxation and exercise. He

[NB. all parts of this question combined count the same as one of the other questions.] a. Do you think his cost of playing golf is $10 per week? Why

b. Suppose that if he didn't work or play golf on Wednesday afternoon, he would play tennis (also at the club). Tennis require only a court

The Installation of Technology in Sport Stadium Essay
"Goal!" The fans rise in celebration as the ball crosses the line. Or does it? The ball was just over the line according to the referee. However,
technology says otherwise. Over the years, there have been many controversial calls in all sports. Human referees have always made mistakes. It has
been debated whether technology should take over refereeing. Some argue that technology will improve the accuracy of calls in sports, while others
claim that it will remove from the human aspect in sports. Technology should not be used instead of referees in sports, because it is costly to operate,
occupies more time during matches, and takes away from the human element of sports.
Installation of technology in sports stadiums would require a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Introducing technology to sports would result in frequent stoppages during games, and would take away from the excitement of the matches.
Although many argue that technology will make decisions in sports more accurate, it is believed that human error actually makes sports more
exciting. Errors made by referees can create make games more engaging for viewers and fun to watch. Next, technology puts a lot of pressure on
referees to make correct calls. Refereeing is a stressful job by itself, and technology would put more stress on referees. Fans, because of available
technology, will begin to lose respect for referees if they make mistakes. In addition, sports are a human activity, and should remain this way. FIFA
general secretary Jerome Valcke says that, "we should trust and keep football as a human game" ("Goal–line..."). Also, introduction of technology into
sports would "miss a huge opportunity to educate people about the role of uncertainty in science" (Pielke). Lastly, use of technology would increase
the risk of hacking and fake video footage (Pielke). In conclusion, human error is an essential part of sports, and eliminating mistakes by introducing
technology would make sports less exciting and appealing.
Technology should not be used in refereeing in sports, since it is time–occupying, requires a lot of funds to manage, and takes away the element of
human error from sports. Referee errors do not make a sport less

" Sammy if you're dead, don't do anything..... Sammy, move, please?..... Are you dead, come on Sammy!...... SAMMY ANSWER ME!... I burst out

I rushed down back to my house and grabbed my scissors. Sammy, No more dumb mistakes. I cut off her head and little blood spilled out. 3, 2, 1, go. I
started to cut off mine as well, when I realized I was dying. The last thing I saw was Sammy, my new dog, decapitated. "HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
That was the first thing I heard in this odd room. I took a breather still confused on what happened. I saw myself on a mirror, brown hair, blue eyes, a
bit plump, blood still coming out, dead. That was me alright. The laughing was coming from a few yards away, I was running when I bumped into
something. "CRAP, you're already here!"

Descriptive Essay On Unexpectedly Gone
Unexpectedly Gone
"Yeah, he's pretty sick. Well I'll see you tomorrow, goodbye!" I called to my friend Elizabeth, who was plotting beside me. As soon as the bus
stopped, I leaped from my leather seat. The sun was shining through the front window; I could even feel the heat blaring on my back. I turned my
head to look out the window, and the sky was bright and clear. I was in the front seat, so I was the first one to scramble off the bus.
"Bye Ursula! I hope your dog is okay," Elizabeth exclaimed. Yeah, I sure hope Happy is okay I thought as I rushed down the steps, and out thedoor.
Happy was my 16 year old dog, who was pretty sick from September to November. I really loved him; he was my first dog. Some people don't
understand how hard it can be to lose an animal, and sometimes people do. People who have experienced situations like this realize that it can be so
sudden; it's unexpected. And some people who haven't experienced this may think, "it's just an animal." To me, losing an animal is like losing afamily
member. Your pet is like a member of your family.
I sped down the edge of the road so I could get to my home. My feet were sore from so much movement that day, so I almost stumbled a few times
as I moved along. I had to walk half a mile, but I didn't think it would badger me. I hope Happy is feeling as good as he did yesterday I worried. I
couldn't get him out of my head. I really had no image of what I was going to expect when I got home. Was he going to be at the vet? Was he
feeling well? Was he just lying there on the couch? Other than that, I was feeling golden. I finally got a perfect score on my test that year, so I was
proud of that. I was planning on sharing that with my parents (along with checking on Happy) when I got home. Oh yeah, there was also some rude
girl who wouldn't leave me alone whenever I was in her sight. Oh well, we weren't that close anyway. I continued to stroll until a road divided the grass.
I had to patiently wait for a blue car, which drove by pretty slowly. I hated it whenever a car drove by, especially when I'm eager to come back home.
Why can't I cross the street first?
After the car drove away in the distance, I finally jogged across the road. I continued to

My Life Short Story
I had always taken life as a joke or not that serious until this tragic event affected my whole life. It was just a routine day during summer break and
life seemed pretty good until I received a phone call from my mom to come home as soon as possible. I then thought that maybe they had a surprise
for me because it was close to my birthday.
Once I got home I darted up into my parents' room, and I then saw my dog laying on the bed, she looked like she had just threw up or something.
They then told me that she had blacked out and wasn't doing well. Then the first thing I thought was that she was just going to be better in a couple of
days.
It then hit me that my dog was 14 years old and she was only supposed to live until 11 years old. It possibly meant that she was old and sick and it
was her time and that's when I broke out into tears. But I knew that she would be okay because she is a fighter and we will get her the help she needs.
The next day I wake up and she is still laying on my parents bed looking tired. I then asked my parents with enthusiasm and my heart racing, "How is
she doing today?"
They then said "she hasn't ate or drank anything all day."
I asked with my heart beating twice as fast , "What are you guys going to do?"
They broadly explained with concern in their eyes"the only thing we can really do is take her to the vet and see what's wrong with her so we can
make her better."
Before they took her to the vet they get her to drink a little water, but she

Losing a Best Friend I pull up and rush inside. Would this be the last time I see my best friend of 10 years? The room is cold, plain, and white from

The man also explains how he would be dazed, due to the anesthesia from the surgery he had just undergone. The surgery revealed that my best
friend named Jack had cancer, and that he was too old to undergo chemo. They bring him in, his glassy eyes look at me and his furry tail wags. He
is extremely underweight and his ribs show from under his thick black and white coat. He seems happy for the first time in months. I later realize
this is because it is the first time he had not been in pain in so long. I say my goodbyes and rush out of the vet, tears streaming down my face. We

I knew it would happen.
It always happens, no matter what, I just didn't think that it would happen today. Standing here, in this white space with its white walls and white

"Yes, Jacob?" She replied from somewhere in the house.
"Come here quick! Something is wrong with Gibson..."
Gibson had backed himself into a corner and started shaking uncontrollably, strands of saliva clinging to his muzzle. He couldn't stop shivering, eyes
blinking uncontrollably, and it kept getting worse and worse. Suddenly, all movement stopped and he was Gibson again. Scared, I pleaded, "Is he
alight?" "Act calm and stay with him Jacob; I'll call the vet."
This was the first hint of his downfall, a hint we should have taken more seriously. If we had only understood what was happening to him perhaps we
could have prevented what happened next.
Gibson's second seizure came a few days later as he sat at the top of the stairs, a place where he commonly went to relax. The shaking started again.
"What was that?!" echoed Dad's booming voice in response to the crash we had just heard.

Personal Narrative: A German Shorthair Hunting Dog
Tucker was a german shorthair hunting dog, infact, one of the best hunting dogs. I first went hunting with tucker when I was five, and my dad was

We went back to the vet that day, and we discovered even worse. The doctor explained to us that he had terminal cancer. It was either he dies of

Wheels: A Short Story
When I was younger, I had a pet dog named Wheels. My dad got him from a guy at work in 2002. I was just a little baby when they got him. I had
him up until about the 4th or 5th grade. He was a blue heeler, that loved to chase cars and cattle. He was mainly black and white. He got his name,
because he loved to bite wheels on a car. He sometimes got out of hand and went after people. He was very protective of our family, not letting
unknown people on the deck. My brothers and I would come home from school, and play with him. If we rode our bikes around the farm he would try
and take the front tire off of the bike. One time he got his teeth stuck in the tire and he got whipped around it hard. You would think he learned his
lesson after that, but he didn't. We had another dog at the same time as Wheels. His name was PouchГ©. We'd chase them around the yard and try
and pull their tails, and when we did they got mad. They would try and bite us, we thought it was funny when the other person was screaming and
running away, but when it was our turn it wasn't so funny. We'd also try and catch some cats with them. My brothers and I would have fishing nets

Title Ix And Its Impact On Society
A huge thing that has impacted society and especially sport today was the passing of Title IX. It changed the way we look at sport and how we
address it. Title IX is a law that passed in 1972 that requires gender equity for men and women in all educational programs that receive federal
funding (titleix.info). The government showed that they will not play favorites and that we are all equal before the law (Summers). The passing of
this law was a turning point for women. It impacted women in many areas of life but when most people think of Title IX, sport first comes to mind.
Women had played sports before this time, but did not receive all the same opportunities as men. Women athletic programs were not provided with the
same funds that men sports and female college athletes received only two percent of overall athletic budgets. There was much less woman
participating in sports than men so before Title IX only 1 in 27 girls played high school sports. After Title IX, things drastically changed for women
in sports though (titleix.info). Today there is a question about whether or not Title IX accomplished what it set out to actually accomplish. There are
mixed views on if it was successful. There is no doubt that it has made a huge impact on women sports but has its faults made the law fail at its
attempted mission. Carrie Lukas says, "Men's sports teams have been sacrificed in order to achieve "proportionality" as demanded by those enforcing
Title IX" (Lukas). Title IX

How To Put My Incapacitated Dog
On Wednesday, June 18, 2003, I had finalized the decision to put my incapacitated dog to rest. It became a reality. I clearly remember the warm,
breezy day that occurred two weeks ago. As I sat in the freshly cutgrass of my front yard, I paid no attention to the sounds of the birds that were
singing or the leaves that were dancing on the trees. All that was on my mind was the details of the last 13 years and remembering the times we
shared together. As I kept trying to convince myself that he would not have to suffer another day from his ailments, I kept thinking of the first day
that he came into my life. I was 15 years old when I got Valen. It wasValentine's Day in 1990. Earlier that week my mother was near Port Jervis, New
York on a business trip. She had some free time before she had to come home to Pennsylvania so she decided to stop at the local SPCA. Her
intentions were to simply look at the animals and then leave. She made her way to the area that housed the dogs. There she found a shy, but friendly,
golden retriever. He was a bit apprehensive at first, almost as if he was neglected and abused, but it didn't take much of my mom's gentle touch and
her soft, subtle voice before this dog realized she was his savior. She decided that she would like to adopt this dog however, the policy was strict, and
there was a seven–day waiting period before you could adopt an animal. This was in place to allow ample time for the owner to claim their animals
if they got astray. As much as my mom wanted to leave that day with the dog, she had to wait. It was on Tuesday, February 13, 1990 that my mom
received a call from the SPCA. They were pleased to have the opportunity to offer her the dog through adoption since no one had come forward to
claim him. She decided that she would go back to New York the next day to pick him up. On Valentine's Day, I got home from school and to my
surprise I was greeted at the door by this vivacious, brown–eyed golden retriever. I was so excited and I immediately sat down on the cold, ceramic
floor and played with my new friend. We rolled all over the floor and I was giggling as he licked my face, and at the same time, he was whimpering
with happiness. We did this for about an hour until I

An Analysis Of Invisible Man And Invisible Man
Throughout this course, we have investigated self–knowledge and what it means to know one's self. Each book that we have read has forced us to
think critically in order to analyze the characters and their relations with self–knowledge, and Invisible Man was no different. The Narrator, also known
as Invisible Man, faced many challenges when it came to knowing who he was. By the time that you are done reading this paper, you will know not
only what it means to know who one is, but also to what extent we define identity as they both relate to Invisible Man.
When asking the question "what does it mean to know who one is," I believe that it is one that could be seen in many different ways as it relates to
Invisible Man. Some would look at this as something so basic like him knowing his name or age, but knowing who one is, is something that goes so
much deeper than that. Knowing who one is means knowing oneself from the inside out. In the book Invisible Man, He didn't really know who he
was. The problem that I believe he faced with his identity was the fact that he was always trying to please others; he was always trying to reform his
life in order to be what he thought others wanted him to be. When the men from the brotherhood gave him his new name, they told him "Get it down
so that even if you are called in the middle of the night you will respond. You are to answer to no other, understand?" Invisible man just accepted it
because he felt like who they wanted him to be is who

Reese is furry, friendly, strong, playful, energetic, loyal, and most of all misjudged. Reese is a rescue pitbull. Our stories conjoined on a dreary

"I believe so." My mom returned.
I pleaded for us to pull over, I wanted to see the sorrowful dogs situation. My mom relentlessly pulled the car over to the side of the highway and

As I hiked down the long ramp I heard my brother, Colby, laughing behind me. "Look Meaghan," Colby said dangling a small bacon treat above
Madix's head, "I couldn't find his leash, so I made him follow a treat." Madix jumped with his short legs to try and reach it. Across the street I
spotted two small, bushy tailed squirrels chasing each other around a tree. I looked from the squirrels to Madix and back again. Before I could move
a muscle Madix had darted towards the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt his heart beating rapidly.
"Colby!" I yelled excitedly, "His heart is still beating!"
"Mom, his heart is still beating!" I heard Colby say.
"Mom said to take him to the vet, they are on their way home." Colby said, putting his phone in his pocket.
I jumped up, still holding Madix like a baby. I had stopped crying, for the time being. Colby and I jumped into the car and took off, avoiding the lady in
the SUV, and my grandpa behind us.
The usually short seven minute drive to the vet seemed like an eternity. As we were driving there was a horrible stench, it smelled like one of
Madix's farts. Colby and I both knew it was the dog, but neither one of us said anything. I began crying again as I thought of what I would do if Madix
was dead.
Colby had not worried about parking inside the lines, we both jumped out and rushed into the vet's office.
"Our dog just got hit by a car." Colby said with a tremble in his voice. A veterinarian hurried out from the back and took Madix's lifeless body out of
my arms. His head flopped from my chest to hers.
As I sat in the waiting area I began sobbing. An older lady with grey hair, sitting in the waiting area with her cat noticed.
She walked over to me, "Can I pray over you and..." she paused, waiting for me to tell her Madix's name.
"Madix." I said looking at her wrinkly face.
She smiled and placed her hand on my head.
"Dear Lord," She began, "Please watch over this young girl and Madix. Help her to

Persuasive Short Stories
As we are nearing our destination our bus driver yells out "I am going to stop at this gas station and fill up." When our bus driver came back onto
the bus he exclaimed "The gas station is out of gasoline so we will stay here overnight." Then, everyone in the bus started grunting and moaning.
"But guys we can make this fun if we tell stories to pass the time, Here, I will start." I said. And we began telling each other our stories. "Can we
please adopt this one, Mom? Pretty please, he is so cute! With his bright green eyes and his pink little nose," said Jacob, a thirteen year old boy with
red hair. "After this we will be pretty much bankrupt," said Jacob's mom, with her deep blue eyes staring into Jacob's "Please just this one thats all,"
said Jacob "Ok but promise me that you will take responsibility of him by taking care of him," said Jacob's mom. And they strutted to the individual
behind the counter. When they got back home with their new puppy they decided to name him Spot due to a cinnamon–colored spot on his back. The
next morning, when Jacob woke up he noticed that Spot's nose is not the same shade of pink. In fact, it is quite pale. "Mom we need to take spot to
the vet now!" screamed Jacob wistfully. "Ok, I will get Spot while you get in the car," replied Mom. When they got to their destination, Jacob sprinted
out of the car and went to the vet's office and almost immediately the vet said "Spot is going to need surgery, do you have insurance?" "No, how much

Essay About A Love Story

  • 1. Essay About A Love Story Now– Hani cried into him. This was not to be a love story, or one with a happy ending at all was it? There was never to be a finality. This would never end. Never. Hani would live forever, just as Lee should have, but he had given his life to her... his very soul. He would die here in her arms, and she would be alone. No hope. No love. Six months ago– Hani sighed. "It's funny... how I became a vet in hopes to save lives." He just looked at her curiously. "you saved mine that night." He reminded her. Hani started spacing out. Lost in thought. Then the flashback came. That night... the memory was vivid in her mind. She had been heading back to her home in the heavy rain, when she saw him soaking wet, and bleeding out. The wound in his side was gleaming red in the dim light of dusk in the rain. Though he had almost no strength left, he pleaded to her not to call an ambulance. His voice was strained. Any of the ragged breaths he took now could be his last. Shaking with the effort of dragging him along, she finally brought him to her vet. She lay his limp body to the floor. She was not licensed to treat another human, but to protect life was the way she would eventually go. It all came down to this. Every moment was to be made use of. She dashed into another room, and seconds later darted back out, with all of the necessary medical supplies. Dropping down to her knees by his side, she pulled his shirt up a little to get a better look at his wound. It looked like he was stabbed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Benefits in Youth Football Since the creation of man, sports have had a tremendous role in the way people live their lives. From the time we are born, until our elderly age, most of us are involved in some way with sports. Whether it is a scrimmage game of soccer at recess in elementary school, playing on the varsity athletic team or simply watching the Olympics or sporting events on television, sports have an influential role in our everyday lives. The outstanding popularity of the sports industry has profoundly affected youth sports organizations that an estimated twenty–six million children ages six through eighteen participate in at least one school or community based athletic program (Smith & Smoll, 1997). Well structured sport programs can provide youths with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a large boost in the physically disabled youth's self–esteem because that youth knows that their participation in sport allows them the opportunity to advance in sport just like a healthy youth can. Physical activity is essential for children; therefore sport participation has many physical benefits for youths (Willox, 1994). In the United States there is a very unhealthy trend of physically unfit children going on. According to a recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health seven out of ten kids in our nation are out of shape and the incidence of obesity has increased by more than 50 percent among America's children and teen since 1976 and continues to grow at a staggering rate (Metzel & Shookhoff, 2006). When children participate in sports activities they get some of the exercise they need to improve their quality of life and can help prevent children from becoming obese. Physical activity regulates obesity because it increases energy expenditure, suppresses appetite, increases metabolic rate, and increases lean body mass (Willox, 1994). Even though regular physical sport activity has been shown to improve physical fitness, it can also help in preventing many different health problems down the line that youths who participate in sports are more likely not to develop than youths who do not participate in sports. Women who participated in organized sport and fitness programs as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dog Vomiting Research Paper A dog owner in Pennsylvania got a surprise when she took her pet to the vet with stomach woes. Surgery was required to relieve the dog of an unusual range of stomach contents that included eight pairs of underwear. As the parent of a fur baby, it can sometimes be hard to decide whether a delicate tum is a short–lived affair, or warrants a trip down to the vet quick smart. Here are five signs that may help you better understand why your dog is unwell, so that you can make a more informed decision before getting into the car. Vomiting Let's start with the most common signs that your canine is not well, and that is the presence of dog vomit somewhere you really would not like it to be. Vomiting is caused by a number of different reasons, including:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you are not aware of foods that can be toxic to dogs, here's a couple of the bad guys: Avocado. Persin is a compound that is found within avocados and while it does no harm to humans, it will make your dog ill. If your pet gets into the bowl of guacamole, take them to the vet. Coffee. Have you ever tried to take a break from a one cup a day coffee habit? That caffeine addiction is not easy to break. If your dog has a drink of your coffee, they could experience heart palpitations, increased breathing or internal bleeding. They need to be seen by your vet before permanent internal damage is done. Other foods that could cause problem include alcoholic beverages, chocolate and grapes. Call your vet if you unsure about something your pet has consumed. Now that you are better informed, you have a better idea of when you need to take them immediately to the vet when stomach troubles strike. While mild intestinal disorders will strike your dog during its lifetime, moving your underwear to an unreachable shelf will at least prevent that being the cause of a vet ... Her smile was so bright when she went down(Desendre) the stairs that day. They were throwing her a party with all of her friends coming. The party didn't start till 1:30 so she still had plenty of time to get ready. She wore a big pink dress with a plump pink bow on the back. She went out(Sortir) the back door to the backyard and all her friends were there. She looked on the present table and was so excited to see all the big packages. Lilian ran over to him to see if he was okay, but he didn't look so good, he couldn't even stand back up. So Dr. and Mrs. Vandertramp decided to take him to the vet. When they arrived(Arriver) at the vet they took Old Smeller out of the car and took him to the doctor in the vet's office. They waited in the waiting room while the doctor checked on their dog. When the doctor returned(Retourner) to the waiting room with Old Smeller she told then that Old Smeller he became(Devenir) sick and he couldn't stand back up right away because he was getting old and that there was nothing they could do. She told them that the best thing to do was to take him home and make sure he was comfortable in his last moment with them. Lilian was feeling surprisingly sad to hear about the end of her new dog's life being so close. She had only had him for about a week but she had spent so much time with him. So they went back(Revenir) home and made sure Old Smeller was in his soft doggy bed, and Lilian even let him lay on her favorite blanket. • 5. What Does Digger Mean Digger It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the grass was green, in middle of the yard was a trampoline. The net was black and the mat that covered the grey silver springs was a medium dark blue and has holes from the dogs going up and down and up and down. You could hear the paws go off the mat and makes the spring go back to it's original position, I was doing a flip. Five minutes had passed before I heard a vomit noise that sounded like water coming down a faucet. Then I saw Digger, Digger was a golden retriever with dark eyes and a pink nose. His nose was pink because he would stick it in the sparkly white snow every white winter. Right there Digger was trying to tell me something, you just know that feeling. So I... But then I realized that he's not there then I became so sad that I felt like my whole world just crumbled to pieces. Until the day that I die I know that I will see him again one day but until that day he will be in my heart. A week passed by and we could not live without a dog it felt like there were no animals in this world to comfort you. So we got two new know dogs, There names are Maya and Riley. It hurt to see Ralph in pain, however, it hurt even more to see the light in his eyes change to evil slits as he grasped Richard's arm. He halted, suddenly, and shook his head heavily. That's when I charged at him, swiped the chain from my bag, and flung it around Ralph. I could tell he was becoming dizzy as I constricted it, but I kept going. I knew I had to make him black out, I had to. So I did. I gave the chain a final tug and stepped back. I knew his vision was almost black as he tried to thrust himself at me. Suddenly the monitor gave a beep and his heart rate steadied. "Now I know you are not lying. Otherwise that would have killed him... Amazing." "Told you." Suddenly there was a slight wind and I watched as Ralph changed back to his original form. The vet was amazed. His jaw dropped to the floor. Watching as the vet shaved part of her paw and stuck the needle into the shaved part of her paw, I cried and petted Izzy. Leaving the vet did not feel right because I would never see Izzy ... • 9. My Love Of Education Many people are on their own route towards what they consider receiving or claiming an education. Whether it be a formal or informal education, we all approach obstacles that keep us away from a direction we may have our mind or even our heart set on. In this essay, I will describe my experiences in which my education has brought me close to losing my temper and self–confidence. I used to groom the knots of her black–and–white coat that would pile up on her belly. But, one day, I remember coming across a ball–like lump under her skin. I moved it around to see if it bothered her, but she just lay there with her belly up, waiting for me to finish. The next morning, my dad and I took her to the vet and found out they were benign tumors, but should be removed before they could turn into something more serious. My family struggled to find the funds to remove the lumps. My love for animals, and particularly for my dog, Lyn Yang, quickly turned into dreams of being able to remove the lumps myself. But at that point, I was helpless. I thought, maybe one day, I'd be a veterinarian and able to rid animals of their problems. That was the beginning of the dream. Growing up, I mostly stuck by my parents and they didn't stimulate my interest in animals. Even with all the time we spent at the vet, I never thought to speak to a veterinarian. What did I know about job–shadowing? I now realize the importance of having real–life role–models, and someone to speak to about my goals and aspirations. It's like Sonia Sotomayor said, "When a young person, even a gifted one, grows up without proximate living examples of what she may aspire to become, her goal remains abstract." In those days, in my environment, my dream to become a veterinarian gradually diminished. So much diminished during my teenage years. I found my mind shrinking. I could feel my dream getting smaller and smaller. Instead of choosing a profession that could drive me, I let me community drive me instead – and it got the best of me. Life is different when you don't have a dream. I spent a lot of time in the streets. I had this small–minded definition of success, particularly when everyone around me was making fast money. The slow–developing value of an education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The situations which I will be evaluating are animal emergencies, euthanasia, animal escapes, complaints, routine advice and a dispute over payment. Animal Emergencies Animal emergencies can be very upsetting for the owners as their animals are part of their family. Animal emergencies could be anything from a simple first aid to a more complicated situation. When dealing with this situation you need to make sure that you stay calm because it can help the owner get reassurance that you know what you are doing and it can help you diagnose the animal quicker. If possible you should explain why the emergency has occurred because this can help the owner prevent it from happening again and it might reassure them that they haven't done anything wrong. When dealing with animal emergencies you should make sure that you provide the clients/animal with compassionate and high quality care. • 12. Do Public Subsidies For Professional Athletic... Do public subsidies for professional athletic organizations benefit their local community? Sports teams, or professional athletic organization, are extremely important institutions within a city or region. They can help connect people with places, and through this loyalty, a sense of civic pride can be seen. Furthermore, the multi–billion dollar industry sports produces effects that can impact individuals and communities. In recent years dozens of new sports stadiums have been built throughout the country, with major funding coming from public subsidies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the positive and negative impacts that come with these subsidies. The issue at hand, however, is that power has shifted from the cities to the teams themselves. Professional athletic organizations have started taking advantage of cities by threatening to relocate unless they get public subsidies for expensive stadium renovations and construction. With this in mind it is imperative to ask today's question: Do public subsidies for professional athletic organizations benefit their local community? The way I plan on conducting research is through a literary analysis, as I am a high school student with very few resources to gather large amounts of primary data. The types of literature that will be in this paper will include studies, meta–analysis, news articles, and magazine articles. • 13. The Worst Day Of My Life I remember August 11th vividly because it was the worst day of my life. It's been one month since I lost my dog. He was an eight month old German Shepherd that brought joy to everyone that he met. He was slightly taller than most german shepherds his age. Most of his body was covered in black fur, his legs were a beige color. It looked like he was wearing Ugg boots all the time. His eyes reminded me of a flame because they were a crimson red and orange. Most people said his eyes reminded them of sunsets that you see on a beach. The morning started off ok because I was sleeping, I worked a long shift for work the previous night and I needed all the sleep I could get. It was 6:45 am, I remember because I looked at my phone when I was awaken by a wailing noise. That noise still haunts me during the day when I'm alone or when I try to fall asleep. The only way I can describe the wailing noise is to compare it to sirens from a police car. The wailing noise was coming from my dog because he was being run over. I threw the covers aside because I knew that the noise was coming from my dog. I frantically ran down the stairs and I flung the door aside. Now that I think about it when I opened the front door I was surprised the handle didn't detach itself from the door. I froze once the door was opened because I was paralyzed once I realized what was going on. My dad was at the end of driveway trying to comfort my dog. However, technology says otherwise. Over the years, there have been many controversial calls in all sports. Human referees have always made mistakes. It has been debated whether technology should take over refereeing. Some argue that technology will improve the accuracy of calls in sports, while others claim that it will remove from the human aspect in sports. Introducing technology to sports would result in frequent stoppages during games, and would take away from the excitement of the matches. Although many argue that technology will make decisions in sports more accurate, it is believed that human error actually makes sports more exciting. Errors made by referees can create make games more engaging for viewers and fun to watch. Next, technology puts a lot of pressure on referees to make correct calls. Refereeing is a stressful job by itself, and technology would put more stress on referees. Fans, because of available technology, will begin to lose respect for referees if they make mistakes. In addition, sports are a human activity, and should remain this way. FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke says that, "we should trust and keep football as a human game" ("Goal–line..."). Also, introduction of technology into sports would "miss a huge opportunity to educate people about the role of uncertainty in science" (Pielke). Lastly, use of technology would increase the risk of hacking and fake video footage (Pielke). In conclusion, human error is an essential part of sports, and eliminating mistakes by introducing technology would make sports less exciting and appealing. "Act calm and stay with him Jacob; I'll call the vet." This was the first hint of his downfall, a hint we should have taken more seriously. If we had only understood what was happening to him perhaps we could have prevented what happened next. Gibson's second seizure came a few days later as he sat at the top of the stairs, a place where he commonly went to relax. The shaking started again. "What was that?!" echoed Dad's booming voice in response to the crash we had just heard. Gibson had fallen all the way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was either he dies of cancer, or we put him down. And we don't enjoy either option unfortunately. The next couple of days were the worst days of my life. We spent family time, but Tucker wasn't feeling so great. That same night, was the worst night of my life. Later that night, my parents took Tucker to the vet, and put him down. • 33. Wheels: A Short Story When I was younger, I had a pet dog named Wheels. My dad got him from a guy at work in 2002. I was just a little baby when they got him. I had him up until about the 4th or 5th grade. He was a blue heeler, that loved to chase cars and cattle. He was mainly black and white. He got his name, because he loved to bite wheels on a car. He sometimes got out of hand and went after people. He was very protective of our family, not letting unknown people on the deck. My brothers and I would come home from school, and play with him. If we rode our bikes around the farm he would try and take the front tire off of the bike. One time he got his teeth stuck in the tire and he got whipped around it hard. You would think he learned his lesson after that, but he didn't. We had another dog at the same time as Wheels. His name was PouchГ©. We'd chase them around the yard and try and pull their tails, and when we did they got mad. They would try and bite us, we thought it was funny when the other person was screaming and running away, but when it was our turn it wasn't so funny. We'd also try and catch some cats with them. • 35. Title Ix And Its Impact On Society A huge thing that has impacted society and especially sport today was the passing of Title IX. It changed the way we look at sport and how we address it. Title IX is a law that passed in 1972 that requires gender equity for men and women in all educational programs that receive federal funding (titleix.info). The government showed that they will not play favorites and that we are all equal before the law (Summers). The passing of this law was a turning point for women. It impacted women in many areas of life but when most people think of Title IX, sport first comes to mind. Women had played sports before this time, but did not receive all the same opportunities as men. Women athletic programs were not provided with the same funds that men sports and female college athletes received only two percent of overall athletic budgets. There was much less woman participating in sports than men so before Title IX only 1 in 27 girls played high school sports. After Title IX, things drastically changed for women in sports though (titleix.info). Today there is a question about whether or not Title IX accomplished what it set out to actually accomplish. There are mixed views on if it was successful. There is no doubt that it has made a huge impact on women sports but has its faults made the law fail at its attempted mission. Carrie Lukas says, "Men's sports teams have been sacrificed in order to achieve "proportionality" as demanded by those enforcing Title IX" (Lukas). Title IX ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. How To Put My Incapacitated Dog On Wednesday, June 18, 2003, I had finalized the decision to put my incapacitated dog to rest. It became a reality. I clearly remember the warm, breezy day that occurred two weeks ago. As I sat in the freshly cutgrass of my front yard, I paid no attention to the sounds of the birds that were singing or the leaves that were dancing on the trees. All that was on my mind was the details of the last 13 years and remembering the times we shared together. As I kept trying to convince myself that he would not have to suffer another day from his ailments, I kept thinking of the first day that he came into my life. I was 15 years old when I got Valen. It wasValentine's Day in 1990. Earlier that week my mother was near Port Jervis, New York on a business trip. She had some free time before she had to come home to Pennsylvania so she decided to stop at the local SPCA. Her intentions were to simply look at the animals and then leave. She made her way to the area that housed the dogs. There she found a shy, but friendly, golden retriever. He was a bit apprehensive at first, almost as if he was neglected and abused, but it didn't take much of my mom's gentle touch and her soft, subtle voice before this dog realized she was his savior. She decided that she would like to adopt this dog however, the policy was strict, and there was a seven–day waiting period before you could adopt an animal. This was in place to allow ample time for the owner to claim their animals if they got astray. As much as my mom wanted to leave that day with the dog, she had to wait. It was on Tuesday, February 13, 1990 that my mom received a call from the SPCA. They were pleased to have the opportunity to offer her the dog through adoption since no one had come forward to claim him. She decided that she would go back to New York the next day to pick him up. On Valentine's Day, I got home from school and to my surprise I was greeted at the door by this vivacious, brown–eyed golden retriever. I was so excited and I immediately sat down on the cold, ceramic floor and played with my new friend. We rolled all over the floor and I was giggling as he licked my face, and at the same time, he was whimpering with happiness. We did this for about an hour until I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. An Analysis Of Invisible Man And Invisible Man Throughout this course, we have investigated self–knowledge and what it means to know one's self. Each book that we have read has forced us to think critically in order to analyze the characters and their relations with self–knowledge, and Invisible Man was no different. The Narrator, also known as Invisible Man, faced many challenges when it came to knowing who he was. By the time that you are done reading this paper, you will know not only what it means to know who one is, but also to what extent we define identity as they both relate to Invisible Man. When asking the question "what does it mean to know who one is," I believe that it is one that could be seen in many different ways as it relates to Invisible Man. Some would look at this as something so basic like him knowing his name or age, but knowing who one is, is something that goes so much deeper than that. Knowing who one is means knowing oneself from the inside out. In the book Invisible Man, He didn't really know who he was. The problem that I believe he faced with his identity was the fact that he was always trying to please others; he was always trying to reform his life in order to be what he thought others wanted him to be. When the men from the brotherhood gave him his new name, they told him "Get it down so that even if you are called in the middle of the night you will respond. You are to answer to no other, understand?" Invisible man just accepted it because he felt like who they wanted him to be is who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Dog Descriptive Essay Reese is furry, friendly, strong, playful, energetic, loyal, and most of all misjudged. Reese is a rescue pitbull. Our stories conjoined on a dreary Sunday morning; the night before it had been storming and the skies remained grey with small rays of light peeking through. Furthermore, it was that time of day where the sun has been up for a little while, yet no one is quite fully awake. Drowsily, I watched the trees and fields pass through the smudged window of the backseat of our family car. Simultaneously, the sounds from the radio entertained me as we drove down the interstate, we were on our way home from visiting family in Cincinnati for the Labor Day weekend. It was the typical boring car ride everybody sits through up until we all noticed something. "What is that?" My mom, brother, and I all thought to ourselves. Suddenly the question was answered. "Is that a stray dog on the side of the road?" My brother questioned aloud. "I believe so." My mom returned. I pleaded for us to pull over, I wanted to see the sorrowful dogs situation. My mom relentlessly pulled the car over to the side of the highway and we trotted in the direction of the lonely dog. My feet squished through the muddy grass and I wrapped my arms around myself as the breeze came through. As we became closer it was obvious this dog had been here a while and was in sickening condition. Her fur was still wet and her fragile frame was quivering. I jumped up, still holding Madix like a baby. I had stopped crying, for the time being. Colby and I jumped into the car and took off, avoiding the lady in the SUV, and my grandpa behind us. The usually short seven minute drive to the vet seemed like an eternity. As we were driving there was a horrible stench, it smelled like one of Madix's farts. Colby and I both knew it was the dog, but neither one of us said anything. I began crying again as I thought of what I would do if Madix was dead. Colby had not worried about parking inside the lines, we both jumped out and rushed into the vet's office. "Our dog just got hit by a car." Colby said with a tremble in his voice. A veterinarian hurried out from the back and took Madix's lifeless body out of my arms. Help her to
