3. • Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency Act 2013 passed
with bipartisan support - Agency commenced operation
on 1 July 2013
• Focus on issues beyond work health and safety to
encompass environmental and public health issues
• Implementation and delivery of National strategic Plan

• The Agency and Minister will be informed by the
Asbestos Safety and Eradication Council
