About DPS
C
hrist University is recognized as
one of the foremost educational
institutions in India today. Its eco-
friendly, serene and peaceful environment
reiterates the real calling of the Garden
City, where it is situated.
The Department of Professional Studies
was established in 2002, in order to
facilitate the pursuance of professional
courses along with the Bachelor’s degree.
Today four undergraduate courses and two
Post- Graduate course come under its wing;
namely, BCom(Professional),BCom(F&A),
BBA(F&A), BCom(M), MSc(Strategic
Management) and MSc(Actuarial Science).
All six courses are aimed at allowing
students to scout out other professional
qualifications like CIMA, CA, ACCA,
Insurance, Actuarial Science and CS
alongside. With practicing professionals for
faculty, the students are constantly engaged
in adding value to their career profiles
through a variety of add-on programs
such as Big Data, SAP, Six Sigma and
Advanced Excel to make them corporate
fit. The department takes pride in being
able to groom its students into budding
professionals.
The Department envisages higher-level
career placement at Under-Graduate
and Post-Graduate levels through the
effective twinning with add-on courses.
The new strategic initiative aims to create
differentiation in all the programs that
the Department organizes. For core-
competency, the Department is looking at
strengthening the curriculum at Under-
Graduation and Post-Graduation levels
with faculty experts who are practicing
professionals and those with research
exposure. The success and branding of the
courses lie in the comprehensive testing
and evaluation of the covered curriculum.

A University of 20,000 students,
a Department of over 1,800 students.

ognito is the Department’s flagship event. It is an
intercollegiate business festival which challenges the
enterprising minds in a corporate scenario.
Attracting challengers from all over the country, the name
Cognito has always been held in high regard and is easily
considered one of the most challenging business festival
of the year, both in terms of complexity and competition.
When it comes to making an impression, there is no better
arena than Cognito; as proven in Cognito 2014 where
participants took up the role of “Venture Capitalists”
through a series of realistic simulations of what investors
go through in their career. Spread over three days, Cognito
2015 aims to bring students to a pragmatic corporate
interface wherein students get an opportunity to ideate
and solve actual corporate and social issues. Our quality
and practicality centric approach is what makes Cognito
unique.
This fest is organised at the Christ University Hosur Road
Campus which has a strength of 20,000 students. Cognito
is organised by 1,800 students of the Department of
Professional Studies and sponsors will have an opportunity
to directly interact with these students. This guarantees
a direct interaction with about 10% of the entire student
community. The University Campus houses students of the
age group 16-22 out of which more than 60% are outstation
students. Sponsors will also have a direct interaction
with the students who have come from leading national
institutions. The top teams that qualify will be invited to
come to Christ and battle to win the championship.
We extend this invitation to join us in our endeavor of
creating a never-seen-before Business Festival, a brand
we have successfully carried out for over a decade. Christ
University is the address and Cognito is the platform. We
are looking forward to a fruitful relationship. Join hands
with us this 16, 17 and 18 December for Cognito 2015.

he Department of Professional
Studieswouldliketoproudlypresent
to you, our flagship corporate
exposure event “Cognito Carnival” .
The primary objective of this event is
to provide a podium for established
corporates, as well as start-up’s to
showcase their products and services to a
heterogeneous group over 18,000 working
professionals, post-grads, under-grads and
students in the 11th and 12th grade.
Companies will be provided with work
stations as per their requirements and
will be given maximum support from
our end. Additionally, our volunteers will
be conducting various games and mini-
events in order to attract and channel
the enormous crowd towards the work-
stations. Companies may also conduct
market surveys and distribute vouchers.
This two-day event will help companies
improvise or develop their products/
services through our enormous idea
incubation centre called, Christ University.
They can interact with and understand
their intended target market and convert
select potential customers into frequent
users.

8.	Cognito Newspaper
Cognito Newspaper is a special customized newspaper that will be circulated all around campus on all three days of
the fest. It will be kept at libraries and all the canteens and corporate waiting stations at Christ. This newspaper will
have a presence inside the Campus to reach 20,000 students of Christ and this is a unique feature that happens ONLY
at Cognito. 10,000 copies of this paper will be printed. The types and prices of Advertisements are as follows:

9.	Ideating Room Sponsors
Ideating Room is one of the most popular locations during Cognito. Cognito is a simulation of a corporate scenario
and just like any other big company has an ideating room, we have our ideating room where participants can relax and
bust their stress. The contents of this room could be a foosball table, xbox/play stations, snacks and food, dart boards,
punching bags, etc. The room is a hot spot during the 3 days of the fest and every volunteer and participant wants to be
at the ideating room. This allows for great sponsorship opportunities.
•	 A Total sum of Rs. 75,000 OR all equipment and snacks in the Ideating room to be sponsored.
•	 Banners, posters inside the ideating room along with full customisation of the room.

Terms and Conditions
•	 Collaterals if any (Banners and Pamphlets) are to be brought in by the company a week before the Cognito
Carnival.
•	 All payments to be made via Cheque ONLY and addressed to “Christ University”.
•	 The University does not permit any kind of monetary transactions within the preview of the Campus.
•	 TDS (if any) to be deducted at time of issue of the Cheque.
•	 Christ University security staff reserves the right to put an end to any Marketing Activities in campus that may
cause any harm or damage, and put a stop to anything that is obscene and vulgar in nature.

Its eco- friendly, serene and peaceful environment reiterates the real calling of the Garden City, where it is situated. The Department of Professional Studies was established in 2002, in order to facilitate the pursuance of professional courses along with the Bachelor’s degree. Today four undergraduate courses and two Post- Graduate course come under its wing; namely, BCom(Professional),BCom(F&A), BBA(F&A), BCom(M), MSc(Strategic Management) and MSc(Actuarial Science). All six courses are aimed at allowing students to scout out other professional qualifications like CIMA, CA, ACCA, Insurance, Actuarial Science and CS alongside. With practicing professionals for faculty, the students are constantly engaged in adding value to their career profiles through a variety of add-on programs such as Big Data, SAP, Six Sigma and Advanced Excel to make them corporate fit. The department takes pride in being able to groom its students into budding professionals. The Department envisages higher-level career placement at Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate levels through the effective twinning with add-on courses. The new strategic initiative aims to create differentiation in all the programs that the Department organizes. For core- competency, the Department is looking at strengthening the curriculum at Under- Graduation and Post-Graduation levels with faculty experts who are practicing professionals and those with research exposure. The success and branding of the courses lie in the comprehensive testing and evaluation of the covered curriculum.

It is an intercollegiate business festival which challenges the enterprising minds in a corporate scenario. Attracting challengers from all over the country, the name Cognito has always been held in high regard and is easily considered one of the most challenging business festival of the year, both in terms of complexity and competition. When it comes to making an impression, there is no better arena than Cognito; as proven in Cognito 2014 where participants took up the role of “Venture Capitalists” through a series of realistic simulations of what investors go through in their career. Spread over three days, Cognito 2015 aims to bring students to a pragmatic corporate interface wherein students get an opportunity to ideate and solve actual corporate and social issues. Our quality and practicality centric approach is what makes Cognito unique. This fest is organised at the Christ University Hosur Road Campus which has a strength of 20,000 students. Cognito is organised by 1,800 students of the Department of Professional Studies and sponsors will have an opportunity to directly interact with these students. This guarantees a direct interaction with about 10% of the entire student community. The University Campus houses students of the age group 16-22 out of which more than 60% are outstation students. Sponsors will also have a direct interaction with the students who have come from leading national institutions. The top teams that qualify will be invited to come to Christ and battle to win the championship. We extend this invitation to join us in our endeavor of creating a never-seen-before Business Festival, a brand we have successfully carried out for over a decade. The primary objective of this event is to provide a podium for established corporates, as well as start-up’s to showcase their products and services to a heterogeneous group over 18,000 working professionals, post-grads, under-grads and students in the 11th and 12th grade. Companies will be provided with work stations as per their requirements and will be given maximum support from our end. Additionally, our volunteers will be conducting various games and mini- events in order to attract and channel the enormous crowd towards the work- stations. Companies may also conduct market surveys and distribute vouchers. This two-day event will help companies improvise or develop their products/ services through our enormous idea incubation centre called, Christ University.
