Each Pramirol tablet contains 0.125 mg, 0.25

Pramirol tablets, manufactured by Intas
Pharmaceuticals Limited, India, are used alone
or with other medications to treat Parkinson's
disease. It can improve the patients ability to
move and decrease shakiness (tremor),
stiffness, slowed movement, and unsteadiness.
It could also decrease the number of episodes
of not being able to move ("on-off syndrome").
This medicine is also used to treat a medical
condition called Restless Legs Syndrome
(RLS) that causes an unusual urge to move the
legs.

➢Pramirol (Pramipexole Dihydrochloride Tablets) are
taken once daily, with or without food. Tablets must be
swallowed whole and must not be chewed, crushed, or
divided.
➢The starting dose is 0.125 three times a day (total
0.375 mg per day).
➢Dose may be increased gradually, not more
frequently than every 5 to 7 days, first to 0.25 mg three
times a day (0.75 mg total dose per day) and then to
0.5 three times a day (1.5 mg total dose per day) up to
a maximum recommended dose of 4.5 mg per day.

➢Assess therapeutic response and
tolerability at a minimal interval of 5 days
or longer after each dose increment.
➢Pramirol tablets must be discontinued
gradually.

Pramirol (Pramipexole Dihydrochloride
Tablets) have to be stored at controlled
room temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C
(68°F to 77°F) with excursions permitted
between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Protect from light.
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.

Falling asleep during activities of daily living:
Sudden onset of sleep may occur without
warning. Patients must be advised to report
symptoms to the prescriber.
Symptomatic orthostatic hypotension: Monitor
patients closely especially during dose
escalation.
Impulse control/Compulsive behaviors:
Patients may experience compulsive
behaviors and other intense urges.
Hallucinations: Could occur. The Risk
increases with age.

Dyskinesia: Could be caused or
exacerbated by Pramirol (Pramipexole
Dihydrochloride Tablets).
Renal impairment: No data available in
patients with moderate or severe renal
impairment.
Events reported with dopaminergic
therapy: Include withdrawal-emergent
hyperpyrexia and confusion, fibrotic
complications, and melanoma.

Contraindications
Pramirol tablets are contraindicated in
patients with a hypersensitivity to
Pramipexole Dihydrochloride or any other
component of this medication.

➢Most common Pramirol (Pramipexole
Dihydrochloride Tablets) side effects with an
incidence rate of 5% or more and greater than
placebo in early Parkinson’s disease without
levodopa were somnolence, nausea, constipation,
dizziness, fatigue, hallucinations, dry mouth, muscle
spasms, and peripheral edema.
➢Most common Pramirol (Pramipexole
Dihydrochloride Tablets) side effects with an
incidence rate of 5% or more and greater than
placebo in advanced Parkinson’s disease
concomitantly treated with Levodopa were
dyskinesia, nausea, constipation, hallucinations,
headache, and anorexia.

14. Pramipexole Dihydrochloride Tablets Overdose

There is no clinical experience with
significant Pramipexole Dihydrochloride
overdosage. One patient took 11 mg/day of
Pramipexole for 2 days in a clinical trial for
an investigational purpose. Blood pressure
remained stable, although pulse rate
increased to between 100 and 120
beats/minute.
No other adverse events were observed
related to the increased dose.

15. Pramirol Overdose

There is no known antidote for overdosage
of a dopamine agonist like Pramipexole
Dihydrochloride. In case signs of central
nervous system stimulation are present, a
phenothiazine or other butyrophenone
neuroleptic agent may be indicated; the
efficacy of such medicines in reversing the
effects of Pramipexole overdosage has not
been studied. Management of overdose
may require general supportive measures
along with gastric lavage, intravenous
fluids, and electrocardiogram monitoring.

16. Pramipexole Dihydrochloride During Pregnancy

Pramipexole Dihydrochloride (Pramirol
Tablets) has been classified by the US
FDA as Pregnancy Category C.
There are no studies of Pramipexole in
human pregnancy.
Since animal reproduction studies are not
always predictive of human response,
Pramipexole may be used during
pregnancy only if the potential benefit
outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
