➢Finax (Finasteride 1 mg Tablets) is used to treat
men with male pattern hair loss (androgenetic
alopecia) to increase hair growth and prevent further
hair loss.
➢Safety and efficacy have been proved in men between
the ages of 18 to 41 years with mild to moderate hair
loss
➢Treatment with Finax provides around 30%
improvement in hair loss after six months of treatment,
and effectiveness only persists as long as this medicine
is taken.
➢Finax increases hair growth on the scalp and prevents
further hair loss in men. Men with mild to moderate, but
not complete hair loss, can benefit from using this drug.

Contraindications
Finax tablets (Finasteride 1 mg) are
contraindicated in patients with a
hypersensitivity to Finasteride or any other
ingredient of this medicine.
Finax tablets are not indicated for use in
women.
Infertility has been reported in men who had
therapy with Finasteride for long time and
had other risk factors that may affect fertility.

8. Finax (Finasteride 1 mg) - Dosage

➢1 tablet of Finax (Finasteride 1 mg
tablets) has to be administered orally once
a day with or without meals.
➢Daily use for 3 months or more is required
before any benefit is observed.
➢If Finax tablets are stopped, all
therapeutic benefits will be reversed.

Impotence (1.1% to 18.5%)
Abnormal ejaculation (7.2%)
Decreased ejaculatory volume (0.9% to 2.8%)
Abnormal sexual function (2.5%)
Gynecomastia (2.2%)

Ejaculation disorder (1.2%)
Testicular pain.

have to be stored at controlled room
temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C
(68°F to 77°F) with excursions
permitted between 15° to 30°C (59°
to 86°F). Keep container closed and
protect from moisture.

Finax is not indicated for use in women or pediatric
patients.
Women should not handle crushed or broken Finax
tablets when they are pregnant or may potentially
be pregnant due to potential risk to a male fetus.
Finax causes a decrease in serum PSA levels.
Any confirmed increase in PSA while on
Finasteride 1 mg tablets may signal the
presence of prostate cancer and should be
evaluated, even if those values are still within
the normal range for men not taking a 5alpha-
reductase inhibitor.
5alpha-reductase inhibitors may increase the
risk of high-grade prostate cancer.

12. Finax Tablets - Warnings

Infertility has been reported in men who took
Finasteride for long time and had other risk factors
that may affect fertility. Normalisation
or improvement of seminal quality has been
reported after discontinuation of Finasteride.
Breast cancer has been reported in men taking
Finasteride 5 mg during clinical trials and in the
post-marketing period.
Doctors should instruct their patients to promptly
report any changes in their breast tissue such as
lumps, pain, gynaecomastia or nipple discharge.

13. Finax Tablets Overdose

Patients have received single doses of
Finasteride tablets up to 400mg and multiple
doses up to 80mg/day for three months
without adverse effects.
No specific treatment of overdosage with
Finasteride is recommended.

Finasteride has been classified by the US FDA
as Pregnancy Category X.
Finax (Finasteride 1 mg) is contraindicated for
use in women who are or may become
pregnant.
During animal studies, Finasteride caused
abnormal development of external genitalia in
male fetuses. If this medicine is used
during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes
pregnant while taking this medicine, the
patient must be informed of the potential
hazard to the male fetus.
