The city experienced its snowiest winter on record with over 90 inches of snow from multiple major snow events between December and February. This exceeded the previous record from 1978-1979. The heavy snowfall significantly impacted the city's snow removal budget, with overtime, materials, towing, equipment rental, and other costs exceeding budgeted amounts by over $600,000. Although this winter's snowfall was higher, producing their own salt brine and additional brine trucks helped keep the cost per inch only slightly higher than the previous major blizzard. A community survey is being conducted until April 30th to gather input on snow parking notifications, restrictions, removal operations, and additional services.
