History
• In1863, Robert Simpson, a local butcher, became the
first policeman in the newly incorporated Town of
Evanston.
• Today, sworn personnel consists of the Chief of Police,
Deputy Chiefs, Commanders, Sergeants and Police
Officers.
• There are full-time and part-time civilians staffing various
positions in the Department.
