Soldiers' Preparation in the U.S. Army Similarly, United States Army has extreme concern with the
specific preparation of Soldiers. Therefore, it has developed a program called Physical Readiness
Training (PRT). The program's goal is to train Soldiers to be ready to work in hard duties and
sustain activity in assignments or in combat roles (FM 7–22, 2012). The PRT has a high concern
with Soldiers health, presenting preparation, recovery, strength and mobility, posture and body
mechanics activities. The PRT has three phases to develop in Soldiers the correct physical condition:
the conditioning phase, the sustaining phase, and the reconditioning phase. First, the initial
conditioning phase is responsible for the practice part in order to develop the movement skills the
correct way and prepare Soldiers for the next phase. The second phase is the sustaining phase. This
focus phase is to achieve in Soldiers a higher level of physical readiness required in specific tasks
and maintain the level achieved. The last phase is the reconditioning phase. During this phase, the

We were all lined up and waiting patiently as big white buses came to a screeching stop in front of
us. We were then instructed to grab our things and begin filing onto the bus one by one. The bus ride
wasn't too long, but it was long enough for some doubt and regret to creep into my consciousness. I
looked around at everyone's faces and they seemed to be thinking the same thing I was, and they all
had frowns on their faces. I then noticed these men in the distance wearing a weird brown rounded
hat. They all were broad shouldered, middle aged men and they were all standing in a line appearing

resilience skills established in 2008 by General George Casey, the 36th Chief of Staff of the Army.

Every soldier is responsible for performing his duty to the very best of his ability and for trying to
improve their performance, including personal conduct and appearance. Every soldier is responsible
for treating other people with dignity and respect. Basically in the U.S. Army soldiers are expected
to fulfill their duties with discipline since both that and duty go hand in hand with each other. You
cannot perform your duties in a military manner if you are not disciplined and a soldier cannot show
it without adhering to the standard even if it is keeping up with the appropriate military appearance
(AR 670–1). It takes discipline to be responsible, although it doesn't just come from having
discipline. Generally, all of the seven army values come together to build a disciplined soldier. You

The movement from a drafted to an all–volunteer force has proven to provide the Army of the
United States with some of its most impressive Soldiers. Whether Soldiers desire to join the military
for the pay, job security or answering the call to serve their country, these desires have become

Soldiers due to continued pay cuts to military pay, basic allowance for housing and changes to

Physical responsibilities can be split between both sides for military personnel, involving their
civilian lifestyle and their soldier lifestyle. The contrast between both involve physical
responsibilities that encompass many facets. When we break down physical responsibilities for each
of these two sides, we are better able to understand why being physically present is essential for

The United States Army Quartermaster Corps is the oldest Logistics branch of the United States
dating back to 1775. The other Logistics branches being the Transportation Corps, and Ordinance
Corps. In 1775 the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution providing a Quartermaster
General of the grand army and a deputy under him. At this time and until 1912 this organization was
referred to as the Quartermaster Departments. In 1912 Congress consolidated Subsistence, Pay, and
Quartermaster departments to create the Quartermaster corps. Quartermaster units and soldiers have
served in every US Military operation from the Revolutionary War to current operations in the
Middle East. The role of the Quartermaster Corps is to provide logistical support to the ground
forces. They are in charge of general supply, Mortuary Affairs, food service, petroleum and water,

these essentials to the combat lines and without this support, the combat arms would not be able to

rules of engagement. This meant that they had to complete the mission, and their superiors did not
necessarily care if the natives were pleased or harmed with the outcomes. As far as they were

change for the natives from when they had met Lewis and Clark on their journey exploring the

and statistics to higher authority. One of the first instances of dishonesty a Soldier sees in the United
States Army is pencil whipping 350–1 training.
At my first duty station, I was inprocessing my unit. While filling out documents, the training non–
commissioned officer (NCO) came up to me and handed a sign in sheet on a clipboard to me. She
then explained the company completed some training earlier that day and I needed to sign the sheet.

An Organizational Profile of the United States Army I have chosen to write about the United States
Army for my Organizational profile. Not only was it extremely interesting to look at the
organization that I love and how it functions, but it is the one business that I feel most comfortable
with. The Army employs approximately 530,000 Active Duty Soldiers and 330,000 civilians,
making it one of the largest, most powerful corporations in the world. Founded in 1775, it is one of
the oldest businesses in the United States and is rich with history, symbolism, and structure (citation,
year). The Army is so interesting to me because it has so many different lines of effort. Of course
you have to train Soldiers to fight and win, but you also have to take care of the families, run a
town, manage factories and hospitals, and provide education for the children. What other
organization does this on such a large level? Even the other branches of the Armed Forces can?t
compare to what the Army accomplishes on a daily basis. Structural Features Bolman and Deal
(1997) stated that structural frames are goal oriented. The Army?s goal is simple, clear, concise and
achievable; to win America?s wars. Every function that goes on within our Organization supports
this goal in some shape or fashion.

Components of the solution:
a. Cognitive: Cognitive greatly contributes to the ability to adapt. Training Soldiers in a more
dynamic aspect will help improve repetition, memory, intellect, aptitude, learning and decision–
making abilities. The Army will improve its current learning model by putting more emphasis on
unit level training, PME, and talent management.
b. Physical: The Army is implementing an educational health program currently known as the
performance triad. This program is designed to heighten the state of a person's overall wellness.
Personal wellness encompasses physical, emotional, and cognitive wellness. Soldiers will be taught
to possess an internal mindset to optimize their health and improve on becoming a Professional
Soldier Athlete.
c. Social: The Army can be looked at as a social melting pot. To be "socially fit" means leaders must
be capable of communicating with all levels throughout the ranks no matter the cultural and ethical
background. Being socially fit tends to create a more resilient individual who is more likely to with
stand the negative effects of stress and

The United States Army Signal Corps
The storied history of the United States Army Signal Corps is lined with technological achievement
and advancement. Evidence of the technological advancement and achievement is seen in the Signal
Corps development of the Airplane, the meteorological service and more recently the massive
improvement in net centric communication, which has led to greater command and control for
leaders in the field. It is now time for the Signal Corps to tackle the next big project, and that project
is robotics, a field that can change the way the Army fights and wins wars.
Robotics is a rather large field with limitless capabilities, but there is one place in particular that
robotics can have the highest impact, and that is security. Securing our military bases , be it forward
operating bases, outposts, or even our garrison areas have become a major issue over the last decade
and countless lives have been lost in doing so but with the use of robotics we can make it safer.
Using robotics in base security will allow the United States Army to make massive changes in force
employment and the Signal Corps already has the tools necessary to make this happen with a little
help from the outside world.
One of the key concepts in changing force employment is the creation of a more flexible force
capable of responding to complex situations while maintaining security and working to achieve the
