- The Nifty closed down 0.25% at 8924.30 points, with maximum call and put open interest at 9000 and 8800 strike prices respectively.
- Among active contracts, the 9000 CE saw a contraction of 250,000 open interests while the 8900 PE saw an addition of 380,000 open interests.
- Nifty March futures saw an addition of 310,000 units, taking total outstanding open interest to 221 million units.
1. Nifty Options - OI Distribution
The Nifty was down by 22.60 points or 0.25% to
settle at 8924.30.
As per the OI data, the maximum OI outstanding
for Calls was at 9000 SP and that for Puts was at
8800 SP. Besides, for trading purpose, one could
Buy NIFTY with SL of 8850 for Target of 9000-
9050.
Nifty March 2017 futures closed at 8952.10 on
Wednesday at a premium of 27.80 points over spot
closing of 8924.30.
Among Nifty calls, 9000 SP from the March month
expiry was the most active call with a contraction
of 2.5 Lakh open interests. Among Nifty puts, 8900
SP from the March month expiry was the most
active put with an addition of 3.8 Lakh million open
interests.
Nifty March futures saw an addition of 3.1 Lakh
units, taking the total outstanding open interest to
2.21 Cr. units.
Among most active underlying, Bharat Financial
Inclusion witnessed an addition of 9.1 Lakh units of
Open Interest in the March month futures
contract, followed by Reliance Industries
witnessing an addition of 3 Lakh units of Open
Interest in the March month contract, Jet Airways
(India) witnessed an addition of 10.8 Lakh units of
Open Interest in the March month contract.
The top gainers on Nifty were Bosch up by 2.81%,
Yes Bank up by 1.99%, Zee Entertainment up by
1.65%, Eicher Motors up by 1.42% and Kotak
Mahindra Bank up by 0.92%.
On the flip side, Tata Steel down by 2.07%, Idea
Cellular down by 2.07%, ONGC down by 1.96%,
Tech Mahindra down by 1.71% and BHEL down by
1.34% were the top losers.

2. Derivative Strategy Pay- Off Chart
The India Volatility Index increased by 1.44% and
reached 14.07.
The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at 0.91 for
February month contract.
The top five scrips with highest PCR on OI were Indo
Count Industries (1.76), Tata Consultancy Services
(1.39), NIIT Technologies (1.32), YES Bank (0.94) and
Indraprastha Gas (0.88).
