5. Present Status: A . Physical progress : 85% B. Financial Progress: Expenditure up to March, 2011 is Rs.819.62 crore inclusive of AIBP(CA) Rs. 435.50 crore Achievements: The Barrage component along with part of the canal was completed and in operation since 1991 with a partial irrigation potential of 14,861Ha upto the end of March,2011. in Thoubal and Imphal East District Targetted Dt. Of Completion : - March 2012

6. Rehabilitation & Resettlement :- 6(six) villages namely (i) Louphong (T), (ii) Phayang (K), (iii) Lamlai Khullen (T), (iv) Lamlai Mongbung, (v)Chadong and (vi) Lamlai Khunou(T) are to be submerged/displaced due to the construction of Thoubal Project. Out of the 6 villages 4(four) villages namely (i)Louphong (T), (ii) Phayang(K), (iii)Lamlai Khullen(T) and (iv) Lamlai Mongbung had been completed. The rehabilitation work of 2(two) villages namely Chadong and Lamlai Khunou arer being started.

Shortfall in the completion of the Khuga Multipurpose Project is due to non-completion of the canal portion resulting from requirerment of canal lining which was not in the provision of the revised estimate. To achieve the ultimate benefit revised estimate in consultation with Central water Commission is under preparation and also for the improvement of the canal.
