INDIAN FACE
INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK edged lower, unable to sustain
a rally after hitting a third consecutive record high earlier in
session as investors took profits.
Further, Dena Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce dropped
5 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively after a report
indicated that the Mumbai-based branches of these banks
have misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs 436 crore.
Just Dial gained 2.4 percent on its proposal to raise the
foreign investment limit.
GLOBAL FACE
Asian stock markets were steady after strong U.S. housing
data lifted Wall Street shares, helping nudge Treasury yields
higher and keeping the dollar to extend gains against the euro
and yen.
European stocks market were steady to lower, pausing after
the recent upward trend due to growing expectations for the
European Central Bank to implement additional easing
measures to bolster growth.
U.S. stocks market rose after Wall Street applauded vigorous
housing data coupled with solid consumer inflation figures.

in key drugs in the US market.
Bharti Airtel in talks with ATC, Eaton
for sale of Africa towers
Bharti Airtel is in advanced stage talks with American Tower
Corporation and Eaton Towers for selling its tower assets in several
African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda. The deal is
believed to be in the range of USD 1.5-2 billion. The proceeds from
the deal is likely to be used for reduction of debt.
Glenmark Pharma at new high, up
4% on foray into oncology
Shares of Glenmark Pharma touched record high at Rs 749.05 per
share, up over 4 percent intraday on Wednesday as it forays into
oncology with discovery and initiation of an innovative bispecific
antibody, GBR 1302 molecule. “GBR 1302 is the first clinical
development candidate based on the BEAT technology. The
company expects to obtain approval for the initiation of clinical
studies during this fiscal.
Arvind jumps on forays into e-
Commerce
Shares of Arvind surged over 6%, after it announced its entry into
the e-commerce space with the launch of a custom clothing brand,
Creyate. To create a firm footing in the e-commerce space, Arvind
has set up a subsidiary called Arvind Internet Ltd (AIL), which will
anchor all the company's e-commerce initiatives. The firm has a 50-
member team at AIL, which is based out of Bangalore.
Eros Intl rises on acquiring
worldwide rights for Zee TV shows
Eros International Media has surged nearly 10%, , after the
company said its on-demand entertainment portal ErosNow has
acquired the worldwide rights of popular Zee TV shows.ErosNow
subscribers to have online streaming access to popular soaps,
serials and reality shows at no additional cost.
