NARRATIVE AND STYLE
This music video is a 'Narrative' in reverse,
starting with a woman in a bathtub with a
cinder block on her chest. It is from here we
see a man and her struggle violently in
reverse. The narrative eventually reveals the
Female to be the true villain of the piece as
we find by the end that she had duct taped
this man's wife and hid her in the closet. It is
in fact insinuated she is the Mans psychotic
mistress who has intentions to kill them.

LIGHTING AND COLOUR
The lighting is very dark with
barely any moments of light
which reflects the themes of
the narrative. The darkness
also adds mystery to the
narrative and gives an
intimidating feel.
Although the piece consists
of mainly dark colours, The
bathtub scene at the start has
slight blue filtering which
adds to the ominous tone of
the music video and can even
relate emotions of 'sadness'.

COSTUME AND PROPS
Costume is basic so that
audiences focus on the
distorted narrative as the
central point.
Props include weapons of
violence such as the knife
and cinderblock, both used
by the actress and actor in
the aims of hurting eachother
in the narrative.

SHOT TYPES
Shot types are mainly close ups. This includes close ups of the
actors faces, detailing their emotions dramatically. There are
also a lot of close ups on items such as the knife and the bath,
this adds to the narrative's layers, making it more interesting to
the audience.

INTERTEXTUALITY
The film 'Memento' which is also a film shown 'in reverse'.
Disorientating the audience
Possibly influenced by Coldplay's 'The Scientist' music video
which is also showing a very dark, heart-breaking narrative but
in reverse
