1. Question 2
2 How effective is the combination
of your main product and the
ancillary texts?
2. The Basic plot of our film
Title - Unhinged
Genre - Psychological Thriller
Storyline
A middle aged man named john turns to alcohol and drugs after the recent passing away of his 9 year old
daughter. He's let himself go to the point he's living in a run down house and lives in constant paranoia and
confusion putting missing posters up for his daughter and hallucinates his daughter each and every day.
Story opens with a man sat on his couch drinking in the middle of the day (cans and bottles all over the floor)
he finishes a can and throws it across the room then grabs some posters by the side and throws a back pack
over his shoulder and cuts to a shot of him stumbling around drunk trying to puts up missing posters for his
daughter who passed away. (John has gone crazy and all his pain is affecting him with hallucinations)
John stumbles across his last poster he hears a little girls laugh then catches a glimpse of a girl run towards a
house. Thinking its his daughter he finds his way to a house ( his house ) follows her upstairs to his daughters
room where he opens the door to see himself arguing with his daughter where he yells 'get out' (this is the
night his daughter died) This hallucination gives him a sudden realisation of what he had done making him
feel that he was the cause of his daughters death. He makes his way back towards the sofa he first sat on
where he then grabs some pills empties them into his mouth waits staring at the glass as they slowly make an
effect on him killing himself (ends where the film started.)
4. Analysis of poster
In our poster we tried to leave as much analysis of the image to the audience as
possible, we did this so the viewer would be curious of the plot of our film. This was
also the reasoning of why we used a distorted image of Johns daughter as you never
truly see what she looks like in the films final cut.
Compared to posters of other productions I think that our poster is quite abstract.
Despite is obscurity I believe this is used to good effect for the reasons stated above.

6. Analysis of radio trailer
Before making our own trailer we made sure to study radio trailers from recent
films and chose to analyze the trailer for the book of Eli. We did this so when we
came to making our own work we had a good idea of what to include.
We made our trailer as close to the industry standard examples that we could
and we did this to make sure they where high quality. We decided to include the
most important information that listeners would require to see our film and also
try to hint at the films basic plot.
7. Summary
In conclusion I believe we marketed our advertising well and used effective selling
techniques with a combination highly professional tools to reach our final goal. We
also produced two good quality works and stuck to the brief that we had in mind
before we stared producing. As well as this I believe that we hit our target audience
and also attempted to appeal to a wider range than what we first had in mind.
