2. First Idea
• For my first idea, I was inspired by Ocean’s Eleven. I wanted
one of my ideas to be about a heist and Oceans Eleven is
one of the most recognised and successful heist films of all
time
• The plot for the film is two friends go to Vegas to attempt
one of the biggest casino heists of all time. They will rob
three of Vegas' biggest casino’s
simultaneously: the Bellagio, The Mirage, and the MGM
Grand casinos For this to work, they must assemble a team
where each member has a specific talent for the heist to be
successful

3. My Idea for a Heist Film
• After losing everything to a casinio cheating
them out of money, three friends decide to
take revenge against the owner however, they
can’t complete this heist alone. They will need
help. The friends build a team where each
person has a talent specific to completing the
heist, they all have a personal vendetta
against the owner
4. My idea for a Heist Film
• From the trailer, my film will adopt and use many elements from a tradition heist
film. Firstly, the film will feature a wide cast. Each character will have to be unique
and possess a specific talent for the heist to be successful. Very similar to Ocean’s
Eleven, each characters ability will be needed at some point. This will be seen in
the trailer
• Location. For the trailer to be believable, the location is very important. Locations
such as a bank or a casino are used very often in the heist genre and will make the
film appear more authentic, the audience will need to believe it is set in a
bank/casino for them to be immersed in the trailer.
• Comedy. From Oceans Eleven, the use of comedy stands out and has inspired this
idea a lot. Comedy will appeal to a much younger target audience. Traditionally,
heist films don’t use comedy however that will make this film more unique.
• Costumes. Costumes will also be needed to make the film appear authentic.
Similar to the use of location, the audience need to believe they are watching a
heist film, it needs to keep their attention
5. Second Idea
• The second idea for a film trailer was heavily inspired
by the first Trainspotting film.
• The original film is about four addicts living in a poor
suburban area of Edinburgh. The film follows their lives
and how they cope with their addiction. It details their
lives and how they manage as people and as addicts

6. My Idea
• Very similar to Trainspotting, the film will
follow four or five friends. The trailer will have
at least 30 seconds dedicated to each member
of this group and it will provide a brief
introduction for each character.
• The trailer will show how each character is
unique and how they all cope with their
addiction differently
7. My Idea
• Location: for this to be believable, the location needs to much poorer or
economically depressed. This will make sense for the characters as well because
they are addicts. The location needs to reflect how poor the characters are and
portray them as the lowest of society or the ‘underclass’
• The characters will ideally need to be young. Each one is distinguishable from the
other with a unique personality. Cohen’s 1972 theory would suggest that these
characters would be ‘folk devils’ They rebel against society and blame it for how
they are
• Comedy: similar to the last idea, comedy will make the target audience more
diverse by appealing to an older audience with an interest in comedy films.
Trainspotting is known for its use of dark humour which is partly what makes the
film so unique. Comedy wouldn’t be expected in a film dealing with darker
themes, it will make the trailer stand out from a lot of darker indie films
• Props: it’s something simple however it is very effective at keeping the audiences
attention. Props are needed to make the audience believe they are watching a
film. Props can also be used to make some scenes more lively and add action
8. Third Idea
• My final idea was influenced by Groundhog Day. The
idea and concept is very simple and should be easy to
replicate on a small budget .
• The original film is about a weatherman covering the
annual ‘Groundhog day’ in Punxsutawney,
Pennsylvania. The weatherman becomes trapped in a
time loop and relives the same day over again
• https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSVeDx9fk60
9. My Idea
• Although it is very similar to the original plot,
the film will copy a lot of the themes in the
original. My idea will be about a student
reliving the same day, receiving the same
work, interacting with the same people,
reliving the same experiences from his walk
home
10. My Idea
• The main character will need to be young, anywhere from 16-18. the audience
needs to believe that the character is a student. This will keep their attention and
ensure they remain immersed in the film, it wont break the audiences attention
• The location will need to be a school or a college. This set will be reused over as
the character is stuck in a time loop. The location also fits the leads background as
they will be a student, it makes sense to their character
• Character development. As the character lives through more days, their character
will begin to develop. They might initially go mad at the idea but begin to adjust to
reliving the same day. Very similar to the original plot of Groundhog Day
• Use or characters. As it is set in a school/college, there will be a multitude of
characters. Also, the main character will need to interact with the same people
because they are in a time loop. There need to be enough characters and
character interactions in one day to keep the trailer interesting therefore a
minimum of five other characters will be needed
