■ This can be done by commenting or sharing your opinion on certain media, on public

■ This then leads others to reply to you, therefore then forming relationships through

■ A form of escape or emotional release from everyday pressures
■ This can be through keeping up with a series or something as simple as watching a
movie as it allows the viewer to feel as though they’re living the life of the lead
character, thus giving them the sense that they have escaped the pressures of their

■ The ability to compare one’s own life with the characters and situations within a text
and explore personal problems and perspectives
■ This also offers a sense of escapism however this is more about identifying yourself
with other characters in the media, thus making you feel represented and a part of
