2. The faces of two people take up a large part
of the poster to suggest that the film is based
around them and that there is a narrative
part in the film.
3. The use of a spider web fits in with the title
but does not give anything away about the
film.
4. The iconography used has a big yet subtle
impact on the story of the film (without
giving the story away). A spider can clearly be
seen in the spider web which supports the
title “Along came a Spider”. However, the
spider is red and also looks like blood has
splat on the web which gives a much better
idea of the true theme of the film (blood and
crime). Also, the use of shadows fits in with
typical thriller iconography.
5. The use of dark and bright colours suggest
there are dark elements of the film but also
uncertain parts throughout. This could
subconsciously intrigue the audience in to
wanting to watch the film.
6. The seriousness of the character’s faces
suggests that they are seeking revenge or
some sort of redemption. This follows typical
thriller iconography and themes.
7. With all of these aspects put together, this
thriller film poster is very successful at
capturing its audience and intriguing people
to watch it.
