When Christian Dior first started off in 1935, he
sold sketches upon his return to Paris. Popular among
the masses then,
were his hat creations. Although this soon gave
way to his dress designs which was his main focus.
He was hired by Robert Piguet in 1938.
Launched in 1946, Christian Dior's first collection
came out in 1947, where he created the extremely
popular "New Look" a look that featured rounded
shoulders, cinched waist and a very full skirt.
Christian Dior went on to be the most influential
fashion designer in the late 1940's and 1950's. He
went on to establish Dior as a global brand with a
variety of products.
