centuriesearlier.Itisimportanttoknowabout the effectof WestwardExpansiononthese peoplein
orderto investigate the cultural significanceof the removal of Native Americansfromtheirland.As
historians,youhave beengiventhe abilitytogoback in time andlookat thisimpactand analyze how
WestwardExpansion affectedthe Native Americans.
Task:
You are a historianwhoisgoingback to the mid-19th
centuryand lookingathow WestwardExpansion
and the IndianRemoval Actaffectedthe Native Americanslivinginthe easternandsouthernpartsof
the UnitedStates. While there were Native Americanslivinginthose areas,there were alsoNative
Americanslivinginthe otherpartsof the UnitedStates.The settlersmovingweststumbleduponthese
