FEA Trip Report
The FEA conference at Garmisch was absolutely incredible. My perception of
education and the teaching industry has changed. The lectures at the trip were extremely
fun and insightful. As potential future educators, our chapter learned about new trends
and techniques that will be present in the future of education. I believe that this trip was
one of the best experiences I have ever had.
The conference was a total success. Future Educator’s Association chapters from
areas across the globe came together to learn about the teaching industry. During our
general meetings, we were lectured and presented with experiences of teachers and
student teachers. The Butler Tech group from Texas presented during most of these
collective meetings. A favorite of many students was the ethical dilemma competition.
All of the chapters were required to address a given situation using ethical reasoning and
present. There was much excitement over the competition.
Between the general meetings, all of the students attended classes that were taught
by teachers around DoDDS Europe. There were nine classes total, with topics that
ranged from assessment of learning to nonverbal communication. A personal favorite
was the class taught by Angelica Jordan, who is also the DoDDs-E Teacher of the Year.
She taught students about the massive importance of nonverbal communication and its
effect on the classroom. We also learned about the nonverbal communication techniques
that are necessary in today’s classrooms.
Overall, I would say that this year’s FEA conference was an amazing experience.
2. There were amazing times to be held during the stay. Education was presented in a very
fun, exciting way that motivated the conference members to teach. The lectures gave us
a brief view into the life and understanding of teachers today. Alongside the lectures, the
classes supplemented by providing aspiring teachers an understanding of new trends and
effective classroom management in teaching. There is no doubt that I will attend next
year’s conferences.
