2.  A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea.
 Nouns can function in a sentence as a
subject, object, or an objects preposition.
 Boy
 Girl
 Beach
 Atlanta

3.  Sally went for her morning jog.
Sally would be a noun because she is a person.
 The pencil was red.
Pencil is a noun because it is naming a thing.

4.  The boy is lightening fast.
 Fast would not be a noun because it isn’t
naming a person, place, thing, or idea.

5.  A pronoun is just like a noun but it isn’t a
clear noun.
 It doesn’t describe a certain person, place,
thing or idea.

6.  She was early for class.
She is a pronoun because it’s not a clear noun.
 They all failed the test.
 They is also a pronoun because it’s not a
clear noun.

7.  Isaac is a great athlete.
A pronoun doesn’t refer to a specific person.

8.  Adjectives are words that describe or modify
another person or thing.
 The articles- a, an, and the are also
adjectives.
 Tall
 Big
 Huge
 Small

9.  She has frizzy hair.
Frizzy describes what her hair looks like so
therefore it is an adjective.
 The bear was huge.
Huge describes how big the bear was.

10.  He was very tall.
Was isn’t a adjective because it doesn’t
describe the noun.
