In any subject, the new knowledge may be properly linked with the existing knowledge related to the present content and the teacher has to proceed from known to unknown.

Teaching is a complex event, comprising different activities inside the classroom. A teaching Skill is defined as a set of teaching behaviour. Actually, teaching behaviour is different activities of a teacher as he goes about going whatever is required during the class. During the class, a teacher tries to use so many activities in front of the students. Here activities denote Framing Instructional Objectives, Introduction, Announcement of the Days Lesson, Asking Questions, Presentation, illustration with examples, Use of blackboard, Reinforcement, Summarization, Stimulus variation, Evaluation, etc.
Teaching skills are mainly teaching strategies that are used by the teacher during the class. Thus he can guide over the class.
Teaching skills are basically used for the trainee teachers during the teachers training program to acquire the knowledge about i.e How to teach? What to Teach? When to Teach? Why Teach? Etc. We know the teaching is an interactive process where teachers and students are very communicating with each other about particular content.
In teaching-learning process student, teacher, and subject matter or content are important elements.
All these activities or strategies are presented by a teacher in the classroom during the class in a systematic way. So the addition of all these activities or strategies in the set which actually progress the teaching-learning process is called Teaching skill.
According to N.L. Gage (1968) “Teaching skills are specific instructional activities and procedures that a teacher may use in his classroom. These are related to the various stages of teaching or in the continuous flow of the teacher performance.”

• An instructional objective is a statement that will
describe what the learner will be able to do after
completing the instruction. (Kibler, Kegla, Barker,
Miles, 1974).
• According to Dick and Carey (1990), a performance
objective is a detailed description of what students
will be able to do when they complete a unit of
instruction. It is also referred to as a behavioral
objective or an instructional objective.
