Identification
Eggs are soft and white
Larvae are elongated, golden brown color. Body is taper
from head to tail. Tuft of hair at the end of the body.
Adult body is upto 3cm long. Antennae are brownish in
color and body is covered with scales.
Life cycle
Eggs female lay about 50eggs on soft lint (carpet or fur).
Eggs are hatch in one week.
2. Larval period may be delayed it may takes 9month to
3years.larvae even survive in starvation. The full grown
larvae wonder in house any found anywhere in the
house. Pupal stage is about one week.
Adult has ability to carry on its life time in unfavorable
conditions.
Damage
1.The larvae found in keratin compound(fur, feather,
hair, wool).
2.Make irregular holes.
Control
1.Done vaccume cleaning on the carpet.
2.Dry out the carpet on sunshine.
3.Use insecticide.
