1. Location Ideas
From all of my other research and planning I have
discovered that dance music magazines tend to have
various locations as their setting for the front cover. They
often have plain yet brightly coloured backgrounds which
match their colour scheme and occasionally have
glamorous settings such as foreign countries (i.e. Ibiza or
Miami) and/or things associated with them, such as
swimming pools or beaches.
My magazine intends to be an ‘Ibiza Special’ in which my
featured artist is introduced as a new artist; it must reflect
the fact he is new and also represent him as a fun,
relatable artist to my audience. Aswell as this, it must be
vibrant, fun and original so that it can attract my target
audience.

2. In order to reflect the fact he is new, and it will be his first
year DJ-ing in Ibiza, I will not have him in a typical,
swimming pool or villa setting. Instead I intend to give the
images a very tongue-in-cheek feel through the use of
props and mise-en-scene elements such as lighting. My
artist will be stood behind a neutral/plain background
and will have artificial lighting (disguised as ambient
lighting) in order to reflect the fact he is a newcomer; he
hasn’t quite made it within the industry just yet.
