1) A princess feels powerless without her kingdom and sets off into the woods. She realizes she doesn't need the kingdom to feel powerful.
2) In the woods, the princess encounters paintings and jewelry from her former kingdom. She finds the prince sitting on the throne, having taken power.
3) Angry at being betrayed, the princess breaks the prince's symbols of power and dominance. She defeats him and takes his place on the throne, becoming corrupted by the power she gains.
1. Narrative story: princess thinks she needs to have the kingdom to have power, realizes she's
powerful without it, and becomes corrupted by the power she gains by defeating prince
regardless
Sick of all these people talking, sick of all this noise
Tired of all these cameras flashing, sick of being poised
Princess walking through woods, camera pans out slightly as she is seen weaving
around trees, mouthing the words highlighted above. The background will maybe be edited
to be slightly blurry behind her to highlight her importance in this forest.
- She will be floating around gracefully through the trees off beat to the music. She
will be wearing a floaty dress/cloak to represent femininity and to show how
dainty and vulnerable she’s feeling. It will also be covering her up to show that
she’s fed up of being exposed (both to cameras and in general).
Now my neck is open wide, begging for a fist around it
Close up to princess’ neck, showing the jewellery that she is wearing, she will have a
cult symbol on her necklace to represent her rebellion
- She will be wearing a choker necklace to highlight these lyrics, relating it to the
narrative of the story. She will be pulling at her choker a little bit with her right
hand to lead up to the next line of the song where she’s singing about choking on
her pride – this makes a clear link for the narrative of the story.
Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it
Princess crosses body as a blessing / prayer for strength, bravery
- She uses her right arm to cross her body to represent the holiness as the video is
about challenging power and fighting for power, the royal-ness will be
represented through this crossing of the body, showing how passionate she is
about what she is singing about. This scene will lead up to the next part of this
story.
I'm headed straight for the castle
(Including the instrumental) walking through 'castle' - a clearing in the woods, with
paintings attached to trees, looking at paintings and jewellery
Theywanna make me their queen
Sees a bust with a tiara on it, gently lifts it and places it on head in front entrance to
clearing (doors swing open during next instrumental bar)
And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying that I probably shouldn't be
so mean
2. Cut/pan to prince already sat on the throne, looking smug and arrogant wearing a
crown/cape/holding cane/wearing rings and lots of jewels. Smug smile looking directly at
camera/princess
I'm headed straight for the castle
they’ve got the kingdom locked up
Cut back to princess looking shocked, reaching up to touch necklace/tiara looking
sad/angry? Betrayed maybe
And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying I should / probably keep my
pretty mouth shut
Cut back to prince obnoxiously/teasingly looking sheepish and shrugging, trying not to laugh
/ prince acts out zipping of lips...
Straight for the castle
... And throwing away the key, smirking
--
Oh, all of these minutes passing, sick of feeling used
Princess reaches up to grab tiara angrily, slowly
If you wanna break these walls down, you're gonna get bruised
Lowers tiara to face level to snap it, begins to show signs of breaking it
Now my neck is open wide, begging for a fist around it
Prince begins running forward to steal the tiara back to prevent harm to it, arm out stretched
to grasp it, horror on face, tiara snapped just before the prince can grasp it
Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it
princess, fearless/adrenaline-fueled/powerful* from destroying the tiara, grabs the wrist of
the princes and twists it collapsing him to the floor in pain, princess looking down on him in
disgust (alt - punches him in the face causing a bloody nose and collapsing because i think
blood would look more effective without being too gross, also blood / royalty are connected
so it’s good for symbolism)

3. Full sequence of princess stealing all of the prince’s royal things (cape thing, rings, cane,
jewels and finally crown, putting them all on minus the crown just yet, leaving the prince
looking poorer/weaker without them)
Straight for the castle
Princess walking to the throne and sitting down on it

There's no use crying about it

there’s no use crying about it
Between each line, cross cutting between the princess on throne and disgraced prince on
the floor

Straight for the castle
Cut to black for final line
