Review of Related Literature
Scope and Limitation
This study focuses on the challenges that pupils have in learning English grammar as well
as the difficulties that teachers have met in teaching English grammar. Respondents for this study
were Grade 4 teachers from Albay Central School, SY 2021-2022, which has a total population of
12 teachers that is located at Albay.
This study does not include any of the pupils' other challenges. The said school's other
levels are likewise excluded. Because the target responders include Grade 4 teachers from Albay
Central School, other schools and instructors in Albay are also excluded.
Theoretical Paradigm
ResearchDesign
This study used a descriptive design and a descriptive survey technique of research to learn
about the difficulties that pupils have when learning English Grammar and the difficulties that
teachers face while teaching English Grammar. The data for this study was gathered using a survey
questionnaire. To investigate the variables in question, the descriptive method of research may
involve the use of a variety of research methods. The researcher did not manipulate or control any
variables. The variables are instead only identified, observed, and measured. The researchers used
a descriptive method in this study because it entails describing, recording, analyzing, and
interpreting the current nature, composition, or processes of occurrences. The emphasis is on the
present situation, or how a person, group, or item behaves or performs in the present. A descriptive
research method is a good choice because it can be used in a variety of ways and for a variety of
reasons.
Definition of Terms
To make the study more understandable, the researchers included definitions of some terms
that they sought to define in order to gain a better understanding of the text. The following are the
terms used in the study, as well as their conceptual and operational definitions and explanations.

Significance of the Study
Distinguishing the difficulties encountered by Grade 4 pupils in learning English Grammar
can serve as a guide and reference for others in determining whether the pupils have good grammar
skills or poor grammar skills. This study specifically regards the following which will highly be
benefited:
Pupils. The study's findings will help students determine their level of grammatical skills and, if
necessary, improve them.
Teachers. This study can help teachers in determining which technique to teach in order to
improve students' grammatical skills.
Parents. This study will assist parents in determining whether their child has grammatical
difficulties and how they can provide possible solutions to help their child.
School Administrators. This research will assist school administrators in developing and
implementing programs and seminars to improve students' delivery and grammatical skills.
Community. This research will help the community in organizing such programs that will benefit
the young ones to improve their grammatical usage and to develop strong grammatical skills.
Researchers. This study will help researchers working in the field of education get insight into
how to respond in these instances.
Future Researchers. This work will serve as a guide for future researchers if it is relevant to their
study.
METHODOLOGY
Methods of Research
Sources of Data
The researchers focused mainly to know the challenges faced of Grade 4 pupils in learning
English Grammar in Albay Central School. The researchers chose the Albay Central School, Grade
4 teachers as their target respondents because it is the location of the researchers' Practice Teaching
Internship. The responses of respondents in the survey questionnaire are the primary sources of
data. The internet and books related to the study were used as secondary sources of data. These
data sources were chosen because the researchers believed they would provide reliable data about
the study.
Sampling Design
The researchers used probability sampling in this study, which means that every member
of the population has a chance of being chosen. The respondents were all the Grade 4 teachers at
Albay Central School who were given the survey questionnaire, which was analyzed by the
researchers to determine the study's results. The researchers counted the teachers from Albay
Central School, Grade 4 level, for a total of 12 instructors in this study. The researchers gave each
of the 12 respondents a survey questionnaire, which they used to determine the study's findings.
This study excluded teachers from other levels and schools that were not in the internship area of
the researchers.
Assumptions
The following are the study's assumptions:
1. Challenges faced by the pupils in learning English Grammar was identified.
2. Difficulties met by the teachers in teaching Grammar were encountered.
3. Action plan was proposed to improve teaching English Grammar.
Data Analysis Plan
In analyzing the collected data, the researchers used descriptive statistics. It assisted the
researcher in summarizing the data and determining the study's findings. All three objectives will
make use of the following terms:
Frequency Distribution was utilized to determine the number of responses that fell into
each category. This made it easier for the researchers to assess the data gathered from the teachers
of the Grade 4 level at Albay Central School. The frequency distribution was used specifically to
determine the objectives of this study, which were to identify the different challenges faced by the
pupils of Albay Central School in learning English Grammar; determine the problems encountered
by the teachers in teaching English Grammar; and propose possible solutions to improve pupils'
learning in English Grammar.
Percentage used to calculate the proportion of responses from each item on the survey
questionnaire. It is also the basis of the overall evaluation of the data that have been gathered from
each objective that the researcher analyzed and interpreted in order to come up with the results and
the discussion.
Ranking To simplify the obtained data, the highest and lowest percentages are ranked.
The following formula was used by the researchers:
P = f/N x 100
Where:
P = Percentage
f = Frequency Distribution
N = Number of respondents
100 = constant

OSABEL, JHIESELYN M.
Traits: Honest, Responsible, Respectful, Fair, Generous, Determined, Reliable,
Conscientiousness, Polite, Disciplined, and Optimistic
Jhieselyn, says everything honestly and appreciates individual differences as she judges all
people on their merits, she's nice and leads her group to be organized, and she's doing great as she's
been relaxed in every problem encountered and she's accountable for her consequences. Even
though she isn't perfect, I adore her. On the outside, the character appears to be an easygoing person
who is well-dressed every day, is very clean, neat, and modest, has an approachable face, and
speaks in a smart manner.
Her character says to show her personality was, always be good to others, as she want them
to be good to her and be her best self, and just like Lao Tzu’s saying “Always watch your thoughts,
they become your words, always watch your words, they become your actions, always watch your
actions, they become your habits, watch your habits, they become your character, and it becomes
your destiny”. This becomes a reminder that she should mind her own business and literally think
before she acts. The lesson that her character learn was always be positive in everything, even it
results to a mistake or a failure because failure is the stepping stone on the way to success and
mistakes are the best teachers that it helps to develop character.
SAGUIT, JOBELLE
Jobelle is the eldest in the family. She’s a wonder woman, a loving mother to Ellie her
adorable daughter. She’s a working mom and at the same time a student, finishing her bachelor’s
degree in Elementary Education. She likes to wear comfortable, neat and classy clothes that can
lift her confidence more. She likes eating a lot, so she learned how to cook delicious foods
especially desserts. She’s a family-oriented person, she has her family at the heart of all that they
do and all of the decisions that she make. She cares deeply about each family member and making
sure they feel seen and heard as well as accepted for who they are. She has a big circle of friends
that she adores and treat like a family. Her friends first impression based on her appearance around
is really different from her personality. Her appearance is more likely to be unapproachable person
and ill-tempered. But when they know her, she is kind, polite, friendly, talkative in a good way
and a very jolly person, she loves to share learning experiences.
What she hates the most about her personality or characteristics is that she doubted herself
sometimes. The reason for this characteristic to appear is that one day when she did her best, it’s
not enough for her father. After what happen she lose her confidence and doubted herself
sometimes. After so many years of doubting and losing her confidence finally she met new friends
that motivate her and helping her to gain it back. What she learned and realized about this is
accepting herself and loving herself more is important than listening to what other people say. We
cannot please everyone because we have different personalities, likes and dislikes. Learning to
love yourself is teaching others to love you because to fall in love with yourself is the first secret
to happiness.

After so many years of doubting and losing her confidence finally she met new friends that motivate her and helping her to gain it back.
