3. Our films is called ‘ID REPERRI’ which means ‘I Found It’ in Latin. We
decided to call it this because we though it gave the film a slight twist and we
took inspiration from other films that influenced us.
4. In this slide we decided to describe two of the key characters in the film.
Name: Jay Scott (Jason Scott) Name: Lauren Harte
Age: 18 Age: 19
Brief Description: Short hair Brief Description: Medium length hair,
5’6” – 6’6” 5’6”
slim, big build Slim
Personality: Reserved, loner, emotional Personality: Arrogant, selfish, popular
depressed
5. The mum (Sarah) is Jays mum and the dad (Derrick) is Laurens dad. Lauren
and Jay are step-siblings. Jay feels resentment for his step-dad because he
has been the man of the house since a young age because his dad died.
6. The film would start with a flashback/dream of Jays about his dads funeral.
He would then wake up or come out of his daydream. The film would continue
with them at dinner and jay storming off because they are on holiday during
the anniversary of his dads death. Lauren goes to talk to jay and says ‘Stop
being so selfish, I want to enjoy this holiday and you’re ruining it!’ they are
then kidnapped. The story would then progress that the dad paid someone to
kidnap jay so that he (Derrick) could rescue him and look like the hero. But
instead they kidnap Lauren as well and jay gets short term memory loss. Jay
sees Lauren being taken away and decides to rescue her. He then finds out
later in the film that it was Derrick who orchestrated the kidnapping. Which,
ironically. Leads to more resentment towards him.
7. During the titles, Jay (as a young boy) would be walking down the church
aisle at his dads funeral (or walking towards the grave) and on his way there
there would be non-diegetic sounds of people saying ‘sorry for your loss’ and
‘I'm worried about jay’ then as he looks into the coffin/grave the screen would
fade to white then back to the film.
8. Films that influenced us were the Bourne films and the film Taken.
Both of these films heavily influence the plot and the proposed
camera techniques in different ways.
Editor's Notes
This would help establish jays state of mind early on.
