The Day To Day Life Of A Student
Get ready for school, pack your bags do not forget breakfast, go to school, make sure you finish
your homework and ace those tests. The day to day life of a student is quite hard. Time management
is the most necessary tool a student can have in life. The ability to schedule and make time for
everything that needs to be done can help reduces stress that results from unorganization. Students
have a heavy workload including homework from several classes and studying for tests throughout
the year plus finals at the end of each semester. When you add a sport to the mix the amount of
responsibility increases. A student athlete is expected to be at practice and games giving their all
and to get their schoolwork done to maintain good grades. Student athletes have the same
responsibilities as non student athletes plus the added workload of practices and games.
Mornings are hectic for just about everyone. While every student just wants to be able to sleep in
they are expected to get up and get to school on time. As the non student athlete stumbles around
trying to get their tired self dressed, teeth brushed, hair brushed, and makeup, if applicable. They are
also expected to eat, pack their bags, and get to school on time. Breakfast is a nutritional factor that
is needed in the morning but often forgotten. People tend to be rushing in the morning and forget
that it is an important meal that one should not go without. When not forgotten though it adds
minutes to the already ticking

My Interest In My Life
My dream is to become a doctor and my goal is to get good marks on my test and on most of the
subjects. What I like about myself is honest and respect, what I don't like about myself is not
communicate to others and afraid to communicate to others. What bothers me is when no one
wants me to be in their group or even say hi to me. The sport that I like are volleyball, badminton,
and basketball, and the sport that I don't like is hockey. I have a very pretty house and there is a
big pond behind my house, and my aunt's house is beside my house. My bedroom have a own
bathroom, a bed and, a table. The school is very close to my house too, it only take me 7 minutes to
walk.
Park is my favourite place to go it was very fun to play there. My favourite movie is
The good dinosaur and my favourite book is Babymouse. And my favourite game on ipad is Hay

I woke up at 5.00am this morning after a decent rest. I felt energetic because I slept early
yesterday at around 9pm. I jumped out of bed and tidied my room saving time for my morning
jog. Later I went down stairs and found mum already up and watching her favorite morning
sermon on television. I greeted her and asked for my brother: he was still asleep; he is not as
hardworking as I am. I took the dog and told mom I was going jogging. Once out of the gate I
started jogging slowly into the nearby park where my friends and I go jogging every morning and
on weekends. I had jogged for about half an hour when I met Cindy one of my...show more content...
Jogging, I happened to meet one of my neighbors and friend Cindy. We related extremely well as
friends since childhood, and this interaction is what brought us together. Relating to people
around us is what makes us human; we can be termed as social beings. Organization is what
describes the role of doing things in a social group (Eubank, 1932); I followed my daily routine of
waking up, tidying up, jogging and getting ready for work in an orderly way so that things done in
the house and by other family members would not be affected. After jogging, I dressed up to look
neat and maintain my image in the community. Mom had made breakfast for us before we went to
school that was her duty to the family, and she expected all of us at the table for breakfast. We took
breakfast as an institution; institutions involved the arrangements done by human beings in
interaction with each other and regularly just like we did every morning for breakfast. School was
mandatory, and that was another step in life that I had to complete in order to find my place in the
community. I rushed to school; a place that gave me identity and gave me with knowledge. Going to
school made me motivated, responsible, and focused and I needed to be a successful individual in
my society. School was also not just a learning institution, but it gave me the identity

International Students Essay example
Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that
studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and
learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot
handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very
unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to
learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more
expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content...
They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent
essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any
problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of
saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any
language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most
university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money
in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students
because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is
responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very
difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited
since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to
find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is
not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from
Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to
have his own money. He went to

Essay on Dorm Life
Dorm Life
College can be great; living with your roommates can be a nightmare. But wait......before you throw
in the towel, make sure you know and understand the rules of a dorm room. Dorm life is something
almost every college student must experience. It's not as easy as it seems either. Most of the time
students will try to room with people they know, but normally a student can't be that lucky to make
that happen. It can actually be easier living with people who are complete strangers, than living with
people that have been there through life.
The first thing to accomplish is knowing the fact that in a dorm room, everyone has a job. Everyone
in the room must provide certain things. For example, one should bring the...show more content...
Your effectiveness with this message will depend on how assertively you deliver it. Try not to
sound meek and apologetic, because then they may dismiss your concerns. But try not to sound
blaming and angry either, as if they are a horrible person; that will make them defensive. In both
your choice of words and tone of voice, strive to come across as one friendly, reasonable adult
talking to another friendly, reasonable adult. You have something important you want to say, and
you assume they'll listen."
Being inconsiderate with one another is something else many roommates have problems with.
Classes are at different times, so waking up to get ready for class with occur at different times as
well. A roommate may get to sleep longer than another roommate. So if there were another room, to
not make problems, it would be best to get ready where the other roommates can't be disturbed.
Slamming things around, and being loud in general is neither considerate nor respectful of the other
people living there. Problems will more than likely occur and living together will be much harder.
Every College student should know, you must be considerate with one another or else your living
situations are going to have a downslide. You can't take for granted that your roommate, or anyone
else, will know what you want or do what you think they should. People aren't mind readers. To get
results, you have to communicate assertively, expressing your wishes, feelings and needs

My experiences in education throughout my life have greatly influenced me in my decision to go
into the education field. I have had many positive influences in my life that have helped create my
desire to help shape young minds. I have seen what a difference teachers can make, and having the
opportunity to be the person who makes that difference is so rewarding. I have also seen some of the
challenges that come with the teaching profession. My past, present, and future in education have all
affected and will continue to affect me as I progress further along this path. My past experiences in

At DCS, I met several of the teachers that influenced me. One of them was my science teacher,
Mrs. McKimmey. She guided me and inspired me in many ways. I really struggled with science,
but she always did whatever she could to help me succeed. She modeled to me what a good teacher
looks like. All the students felt that she was someone to go to for guidance or advice. I saw what an
influence teachers could have on students through her example.
Through DCS, I received an amazing opportunity that really helped lead me to the path of
teaching. They offered a program called Student Aid. During my senior year, I participated in
this program. For two hours, every day I was able to go into the kindergarten classroom and assist
the teacher. I got to lead small group activities, read with the children, work with those who were
struggling, and really see what goes on behind the scenes. This experience was one of the biggest
influences as far as my decision to become a teacher. I found how rewarding it can be to work with
children and have an influence in their lives. One of the most rewarding feelings was watching the
students understand a concept after working on it with them. While I saw how challenging teaching
could be, I also realized how important it is.
Looking at the different kinds of metaphors that could represent teaching, one that I feel relates well
is looking at a teacher as a gardener. I think that teachers plant

The Outside influences on a College student
Today, young people live in an environment in which many judge beauty on a superficial level,
overspending budget margins for college or the student cannot afford to go to college at that year.
Others such as social influences of the classroom, outside of the classroom, parents and teachers can
have a profound effect on the college student too. These influences often meet with the students at
multiple points in their lives. It depends on the student if they ignore, embrace or follow these
influences that comes to pass. Is it expected to do as the others do? The real question is if all of
these specific influences and individuals alter our lives for better or worse.
It often proves challenging sending a child to college. Young adulthood is usually an important time
for career decision–making and growth (Whiston, & Keller, 2004).College is a large step and
responsibility to ascertain on a college bound student. It proves to have freedom to do well in
school but also to waste valuable time and money. It is often looked as an investment, but to many
others it is viewed as a challenging subject to dedicate. Many student get discouraged as students
study medicine, biology and other PhD candidacy in college. Others look at the very immediate
action that must be taken care of, that subject area is known as tuition.
Financial Aid has become more of burden rather than a free program

My Role In Life
Contrary to popular belief, how you view someone is not all that they are. People have different
parts, or roles, of their lives. Often, we only see one role that someone plays, which is why they
say that first impressions are usually wrong. Because humans adapt to their surroundings and act
according to the group dynamics, we have created these varying roles that often have extreme
disconnects between roles. I am no exception. Although I am one person, I also have multiple roles
in my life to follow: I am a student, a friend, and a leader within the band.
I have always been taught that I am a student before anything else, simply because education is the
key to success later in life. In the classroom, I am typically quiet, unless answering questions from
the teacher. Manners and respect have been engrained to me, making it almost impossible to be
anything but pleasant toward teachers and adults. Because I am also a perfectionist, I do not allow
myself to turn in anything less than my best, no matter the assignment or situation. Perfectionism
also causes me to be exceptionally organized and punctual, qualities that have led to my academic
achievements. With these qualities that most people claim to be "ideal", I typically make friends
with other academic achievers, simply because I have had countless experiences in which other
kids resent me being "perfect", "a teacher's pet", or "a know–it–all". Over time though, I have
learned to embrace those words and accept them as part

They have to face new experience and new challenges in their life when they come to abroad. The
first year of their college abroad is a litmus test for them, if they have a positive experience they
will stay but if they have negative experience they have to leave. I had observed the issues faced
by the international students over here as they make their entry to new culture and a new
educational system. They have to begin a new life in an environment that is very different. For
example simple tasks such as going to grocery store where the language is different and the
products are unfamiliar. The education system in India and Canada is different as in India, more
focus is on memorization and there is no practical work but over here, more focus is on
problem–solving skills and self–guided research. Majority of the students live without their family
which is very hard for them to live without parents in abroad. Their parents sent them over here with

Essay about My Life
My Life
I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and moved to California when I was very young. Before I moved
to California my dad traveled back and forth for 2 or 3 yrs from California and back to Costa Rica.
He spent most of his time working in the Fresno area, in the cities of Tulare, and Visalia. He says
he spent his time working in any available job including some farm labor jobs and went back to Costa
Rica to spend time with us. After the second time he left Costa Rica to come and work he did not
go back. At that time, amnesty was given to immigrants in California, and he moved up north to the
Bay area to find a steady job. That is when he saved enough money for my mother, my two siblings,
and I to join him in California.

I was in ESL programs until I entered junior high school. Learning the language, and trying to keep
up with the class work was a challenge for me. Having friends who spoke my language, and the
English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my
school experience challenging, but exciting as well.
Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other
people. I don't only believe that the support that I can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps
student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can
be gained as well, and hopefully bring insight for continuing their studies beyond high school. As
I improved in my English I also grew an interest in writing. I enjoyed my English classes, along
with my math classes too. My interest grew and grew, and I joined summer girl programs. After
participating two year, I became a mentor to those new peers coming into the program. I worked
with teachers in Science, and in Math classes. I also participated in the volleyball activities, and
group activities. This is when I realized I wanted to work with youth my whole life. My interest in
English, and my interest in being a role model to youth made me decide to become an English
teacher, especially working with students whose first language is not English.
Now, I am a college student. I first went to UC Santa Barbara, where I dealt with more

How Education Has Changed My Life Essay
These past four years have really been a life changing experience. From a childish freshmen not
only at school but at home too, to a still sometimes childish senior, one who knows when and how
to control himself. This school and its teachers have taught me so many lessons that will not be
forgotten any time soon. You can probably imagine how nervous and maybe even a little timorous
I was, my first day at Barstow High. It was not very simple to get accustomed to, coming from
Hinkley School, which contained approximately four hundred and fifty students at most, to a big
crowded hall ways of Barstow. I still remember how nervous I was that first day; my upper lip was

He first started with a lecture followed by a worksheet or two. For the visual learners after the
worksheets he would show short videos about that same subject. Most of those videos were
documentaries which were interesting if you paid attention. Another class that I enjoyed was
English 2 taught by Mrs. Smith. Yea some people think she is though on her students, that's
because she is but I think that it has a purpose. She gives some challenging assignment that
nobody wants to do but somehow she motivates us to complete them. I remember two projects
that were fun and effective, not only as school work but to help sharpen our people skills. One of
those projects was to write a children's story book based on an activist from the civil rights
movement. Once we completed our book we took part in a field trip to two elementary schools
here in Barstow, once there we assigned to a five person groups and we also received a list with
the room numbers that we were to visit. We read our books to first as well as to second graders.
After we I finished I had some of the children write their named on the back of my book. The
second project we were assigned that year and that I enjoyed was to research two authors from the
1800s or so, in collaboration with a partner that we got assigned to. For the first author we had the
option to either create a power point presentation or create our own website about that particular
author. My partner and I choose to build our

My Life As a College Student
Making the Transition
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one student to dissolve the bonds
which have held him to his high school life, he can get fairly intimidated. Making the transition
from high school to college can be a tough one. I remember my experience in such a transition
vividly, as it was only a short time ago.
Growing up in a family in which both my parents had master's degrees, it was naturally expected
that I would go to college, and for both my own benefit as well as pleasing my parents, I chose to
pursue so–called "higher education". Stepping up to this "higher" plateau is no small matter, however.

(It may be a bit of a stretch here to call myself a man yet.) The hardest part was getting settled into
my new place. Fortunately, my campus has apartments in lieu of dormitories. I went to the lease
office and paid what, at the time, seemed like a fortune, and ran up and down two flights of stairs
for hours in an attempt to move in my belongings. My roommates seemed nice, and one of them had
yet to move in, so the room next to mine remained vacant for a while.
Boxed Noodles and Other Delicacies
The Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest translates well to the college world. While living on
my own, many of my long–dormant, carnivorous instincts kicked in. A trip to the local superstore
meant that my pantry was well stocked, but replenishing it was another matter. I soon found myself
planted firmly in a regimen of boxed noodles, frozen pizza, and TV dinners. While not the healthiest
of diets, they did allow me enough carbohydrates to make it through twelve hours of classes.
CB vs. CBW
After the initial stumbling block more commonly known as residential life, I faced the towering
challenge of settling into classes. Once I had registered (which was itself something of a dilemma),
I had in my hand a sheet of abbreviations that rivaled a military briefing or a computer manual. My
first class, on a Thursday morning, was located in a building called CBW, which stood for
Classroom Building West. Surely the

Characteristics of a Successful Student.
Are you a student who wants to be successful? All people can be good successful students, if they

you are so smart you get to skip grades, it just means that you get good marks, work well with

it takes hard work, determination, and patience.

Studying skills will help you be more successful as well, there is also to much studying. To much
studying can cause stress, and dense learning habits, also pushing your self to hard may ruin
learning skills and cause your self to feel bad, or not as intelligent. Study skills for tests, quizzes,
and exams is very important. Evenly spreading out study time will increase memory of the
subjects you learn. Taking frequent breaks will make studying less stressful. Using flash cards,
web sites, computers, or just a pencil and paper are all great ways to study. Having an answer sheet
to refer to, and look over when your done will also help study and learning skills because it can help
you see what you did wrong and need to fix. Having a study group or club before big tests, like
exams or diplomas, will help you have more fun with your friends when studying.
Also study at home with adults to help you. Having friends to study with will increase your
enjoyment of learning, and learning to learn. Doing homework right after you get home from school
is good because you might still remember what to do and what you need to study. Doing
homework in the morning can make it less likely for you to sleep or enjoy your day. If you enjoy
writing or reading a job may be based on writing in a future date, but if you dislike reading you
might want a job such as a doctor.

The Stressful Life of College Students Essay
The Stressful Life of College Students
Modern life is full of demands, frustrations, hassles, and deadlines. Everyone experiences stress as
it is a natural part of human life. Our bodies have a built mechanism for responding to stress.
However, during a certain period of time, people tend to face more stress than usual. One of such
periods is college life. It can be very stressful for some people, especially for those who are not used
to carrying out with so many responsibilities. Students spend most of their time balancing classes,
projects, tests, final exams, personal life, and work; that is enough to make anyone feel
overwhelmed. This stress can cause multiples problems, not just emotional, but physicals as well.
One of the causes...show more content...
It becomes a problem to manage time effectively and distribute it to have balance. A lot of students
are used to leaving all the work for the last minute. They follow a false idea that everything can be
done before the deadline. However, it is not the case with education. Procrastination makes students
do things halfway and not retain all needed information.
The effects of constant stress on a student's body are devastating and may have long–term
consequences. When stress escalates without coping with it, numerous troublesome psychological
and physiological conditions may occur. First, the stressful life of college students may result in such
physical problems as sleeping disorders, breathing difficulties, headaches, and a loss of appetite. In
addition, fatigue, colds, weight change, teeth grinding, increased alcohol and drug use are also
common. Unfortunately, stress is often linked to the immune system suppression. It increases the
chances of altering any existing disease. teeth grinding, increased alcohol and drug use are also

Second, stress may result in a number of emotional problems. The most common ones are the feeling
of being overwhelmed, depression, fear, and anger. However, students may also experience
irritability, mood swings, bad temper, worrying, nervous laugh, and crying spells.

Life Of A College Student Essay
Time sure does fly by! It feels as if it was just yesterday when we threw our graduation caps up in
the air. What will our future hold after we enter the next chapter in our lives? Many are
encouraged, debating, or even forced to enter their new chapter into the life of a college student.
High school graduates are given limited options in the generation we live in today. We grow up to
believe that success comes with the development of education as you grow from a pre–schooler to
an adult. Many don't continue their education because they don't want to live off of a piece of paper
their entire life. Parents and teachers influence students to continue their education after high school;
it increases their chances for the future career they pursue. Graduates should continue their education
because they gain independence, knowledge, and creates financial stability.
Several students who have part time jobs believe they make enough money; therefore, they don 't
consider being open–minded of future careers ahead of them. An example of a job that influences
young adults to believe that they make enough money to maintain their lives already are factories
like Walmart DC. Those students may be influenced by their parents because their mother or father
didn't continue their education either while still conserving enough money in their savings account.
Parents are role models to their kids whereas having motivation will only inspire students for further
success. Some may think that they

Short Composition on The Student Life
[Hints: introduction, its importance, duty of a student, conclusion]
The student life is the best period of our life. It is the time during which boys and girls get their
education in different educational institutions. The life is free from all sorts' anxieties. This is the time
when a student gathers knowledge, builds up his character and prepares himself for the future life.
His future life depends on how he spends his student life. If he makes the best use of his time, he
will be happy. If he neglects his duties, he will suffer in life. So it is rightly called the sowing
season of human life. A student's primary duty is to acquire knowledge. For that he must study
hard. He should read newspapers, magazines and periodicals. He should be careful about his health.
He should maintain the laws of keeping good health. He should be always neat and clean. He must
avoid bad companions. He should be obedient to his parent, teachers and superiors. He must be
upright and truthful. He should learn good manners. He should be gentle and well–behaved. During
leisure he should take part in spreading education among illiterate people. During holidays and
leisure hours, they should try to help their parents in their house–hold works. They should so help
their motherland in any national calamity. A student of today is the citizen of tomorrow. So he
should utilize his student life properly.

My Life As A College Student Essay
Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I
learned skills and tactics that will last me throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the
next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing provided me
with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in
handy in the English classroom, as well as in every subject I will face over the course of the next
four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is
essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a
completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my writing skills at some point. This
class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class
could. This class has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to
use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and facts in a clear organized manner. In
order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same
information. For example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more
involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this idea in each paper in different
forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea.
In the critique, I discussed

my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to

By just going through the motions of coming to work everyday, only getting done what has to be

turn into a mundane professional life. At the same time, if a person does all of these things, but
shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to
slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my
department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department
over the past five years, but I'm beginning to see a limit of how far those skills alone will allow
me to climb. Being an expert in my field of pharmaceutical benefits doesn't translate into managing
personnel just as knowing how to complete a task doesn't mean I'm able to give a clear
presentation on how it should be done. Sure, I've been rewarded for the work I've done and
knowledge I've obtained, but at some point, my employer will eventually see that more is needed to
continue to promote me to higher, more management focused positions. My goal is to complete these
courses and obtain my degree to prove that, if the situation arises, I can be the right person for the
job. A more personal goal of mine is to finish what I've started. After high school,

which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of
my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier.
Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I
think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. As William
James says in his essay Habit, "The period between twenty and thirty is the critical one in the
formation of intellectual and

10th Grade That Changed My Life
In 10th grade I had completely given up on myself, I stopped trying in school and would do anything
not to go. I rarely wanted to go out with my friends. I never felt happy or that I had any sort of
purpose in life. I felt like no matter how hard I tried I would never make a mark on this world. I
guess it was because I didn't really have any direction in my life. With all of my peers having their
future lined up for themselves I felt like I was all alone not knowing what my future was going to
look like. Once 10th grade ended I decided to get a job. I became a cashier at a fast food restaurant
called Gimme A Burger. Although this was a pretty average job, it gave me a sense of
accomplishment. When I came home from work I felt like I had actually

Student Life Guide: Tips for Managing Your Time, Homework and Tests as a Student

  • 1. The Day To Day Life Of A Student Get ready for school, pack your bags do not forget breakfast, go to school, make sure you finish your homework and ace those tests. The day to day life of a student is quite hard. Time management is the most necessary tool a student can have in life. The ability to schedule and make time for everything that needs to be done can help reduces stress that results from unorganization. Students have a heavy workload including homework from several classes and studying for tests throughout the year plus finals at the end of each semester. When you add a sport to the mix the amount of responsibility increases. A student athlete is expected to be at practice and games giving their all and to get their schoolwork done to maintain good grades. Student athletes have the same responsibilities as non student athletes plus the added workload of practices and games. Mornings are hectic for just about everyone. While every student just wants to be able to sleep in they are expected to get up and get to school on time. As the non student athlete stumbles around trying to get their tired self dressed, teeth brushed, hair brushed, and makeup, if applicable. They are also expected to eat, pack their bags, and get to school on time. Breakfast is a nutritional factor that is needed in the morning but often forgotten. People tend to be rushing in the morning and forget that it is an important meal that one should not go without. When not forgotten though it adds minutes to the already ticking Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Daily Journal: a Day in My Life A day in my life Victoria A. Solis SOCI111, American Military University 16 February, 2012 Daily Journal I woke up at 5.00am this morning after a decent rest. I felt energetic because I slept early yesterday at around 9pm. I jumped out of bed and tidied my room saving time for my morning jog. Later I went down stairs and found mum already up and watching her favorite morning sermon on television. I greeted her and asked for my brother: he was still asleep; he is not as hardworking as I am. I took the dog and told mom I was going jogging. Once out of the gate I started jogging slowly into the nearby park where my friends and I go jogging every morning and on weekends. I had jogged for about half an hour when I met Cindy one of my...show more content... Jogging, I happened to meet one of my neighbors and friend Cindy. We related extremely well as friends since childhood, and this interaction is what brought us together. Relating to people around us is what makes us human; we can be termed as social beings. Organization is what describes the role of doing things in a social group (Eubank, 1932); I followed my daily routine of waking up, tidying up, jogging and getting ready for work in an orderly way so that things done in the house and by other family members would not be affected. After jogging, I dressed up to look neat and maintain my image in the community. Mom had made breakfast for us before we went to school that was her duty to the family, and she expected all of us at the table for breakfast. We took breakfast as an institution; institutions involved the arrangements done by human beings in interaction with each other and regularly just like we did every morning for breakfast. School was mandatory, and that was another step in life that I had to complete in order to find my place in the community. I rushed to school; a place that gave me identity and gave me with knowledge. Going to school made me motivated, responsible, and focused and I needed to be a successful individual in my society. School was also not just a learning institution, but it gave me the identity Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. International Students Essay example Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content... They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to have his own money. • 5. Essay on Dorm Life Dorm Life College can be great; living with your roommates can be a nightmare. But wait......before you throw in the towel, make sure you know and understand the rules of a dorm room. Dorm life is something almost every college student must experience. It's not as easy as it seems either. Most of the time students will try to room with people they know, but normally a student can't be that lucky to make that happen. It can actually be easier living with people who are complete strangers, than living with people that have been there through life. The first thing to accomplish is knowing the fact that in a dorm room, everyone has a job. Everyone in the room must provide certain things. For example, one should bring the...show more content... Your effectiveness with this message will depend on how assertively you deliver it. Try not to sound meek and apologetic, because then they may dismiss your concerns. But try not to sound blaming and angry either, as if they are a horrible person; that will make them defensive. In both your choice of words and tone of voice, strive to come across as one friendly, reasonable adult talking to another friendly, reasonable adult. You have something important you want to say, and you assume they'll listen." Being inconsiderate with one another is something else many roommates have problems with. Classes are at different times, so waking up to get ready for class with occur at different times as well. A roommate may get to sleep longer than another roommate. So if there were another room, to not make problems, it would be best to get ready where the other roommates can't be disturbed. Slamming things around, and being loud in general is neither considerate nor respectful of the other people living there. Problems will more than likely occur and living together will be much harder. Every College student should know, you must be considerate with one another or else your living situations are going to have a downslide. You can't take for granted that your roommate, or anyone else, will know what you want or do what you think they should. People aren't mind readers. To get results, you have to communicate assertively, expressing your wishes, feelings and needs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My experiences in education throughout my life have greatly influenced me in my decision to go into the education field. I have had many positive influences in my life that have helped create my desire to help shape young minds. I have seen what a difference teachers can make, and having the opportunity to be the person who makes that difference is so rewarding. I have also seen some of the challenges that come with the teaching profession. My past, present, and future in education have all affected and will continue to affect me as I progress further along this path. At DCS, I met several of the teachers that influenced me. One of them was my science teacher, Mrs. McKimmey. She guided me and inspired me in many ways. I really struggled with science, but she always did whatever she could to help me succeed. She modeled to me what a good teacher looks like. All the students felt that she was someone to go to for guidance or advice. I saw what an influence teachers could have on students through her example. Through DCS, I received an amazing opportunity that really helped lead me to the path of teaching. They offered a program called Student Aid. During my senior year, I participated in this program. For two hours, every day I was able to go into the kindergarten classroom and assist the teacher. I got to lead small group activities, read with the children, work with those who were struggling, and really see what goes on behind the scenes. This experience was one of the biggest influences as far as my decision to become a teacher. I found how rewarding it can be to work with children and have an influence in their lives. One of the most rewarding feelings was watching the students understand a concept after working on it with them. While I saw how challenging teaching could be, I also realized how important it is. Looking at the different kinds of metaphors that could represent teaching, one that I feel relates well is looking at a teacher as a gardener. • 7. The Outside Influences On A College Student Joshua Huayamave Professor Uszerowicz Enc 1102 3/08/2015 The Outside influences on a College student Today, young people live in an environment in which many judge beauty on a superficial level, overspending budget margins for college or the student cannot afford to go to college at that year. Others such as social influences of the classroom, outside of the classroom, parents and teachers can have a profound effect on the college student too. These influences often meet with the students at multiple points in their lives. It depends on the student if they ignore, embrace or follow these influences that comes to pass. Is it expected to do as the others do? The real question is if all of these specific influences and individuals alter our lives for better or worse. It often proves challenging sending a child to college. Young adulthood is usually an important time for career decision–making and growth (Whiston, & Keller, 2004).College is a large step and responsibility to ascertain on a college bound student. It proves to have freedom to do well in school but also to waste valuable time and money. It is often looked as an investment, but to many others it is viewed as a challenging subject to dedicate. Many student get discouraged as students study medicine, biology and other PhD candidacy in college. Others look at the very immediate action that must be taken care of, that subject area is known as tuition. • 8. My Role In Life Contrary to popular belief, how you view someone is not all that they are. People have different parts, or roles, of their lives. Often, we only see one role that someone plays, which is why they say that first impressions are usually wrong. Because humans adapt to their surroundings and act according to the group dynamics, we have created these varying roles that often have extreme disconnects between roles. I am no exception. Although I am one person, I also have multiple roles in my life to follow: I am a student, a friend, and a leader within the band. I have always been taught that I am a student before anything else, simply because education is the key to success later in life. In the classroom, I am typically quiet, unless answering questions from the teacher. Manners and respect have been engrained to me, making it almost impossible to be anything but pleasant toward teachers and adults. Because I am also a perfectionist, I do not allow myself to turn in anything less than my best, no matter the assignment or situation. Perfectionism also causes me to be exceptionally organized and punctual, qualities that have led to my academic achievements. With these qualities that most people claim to be "ideal", I typically make friends with other academic achievers, simply because I have had countless experiences in which other kids resent me being "perfect", "a teacher's pet", or "a know–it–all". Over time though, I have learned to embrace those words and accept them as part Get more content on HelpWriting.net

They have to face new experience and new challenges in their life when they come to abroad. The first year of their college abroad is a litmus test for them, if they have a positive experience they will stay but if they have negative experience they have to leave. I had observed the issues faced by the international students over here as they make their entry to new culture and a new educational system. They have to begin a new life in an environment that is very different. For example simple tasks such as going to grocery store where the language is different and the products are unfamiliar. The education system in India and Canada is different as in India, more focus is on memorization and there is no practical work but over here, more focus is on problem–solving skills and self–guided research. Majority of the students live without their family which is very hard for them to live without parents in abroad. Their parents sent them over here with a hope of their family Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Before I moved to California my dad traveled back and forth for 2 or 3 yrs from California and back to Costa Rica. He spent most of his time working in the Fresno area, in the cities of Tulare, and Visalia. He says he spent his time working in any available job including some farm labor jobs and went back to Costa Rica to spend time with us. After the second time he left Costa Rica to come and work he did not go back. At that time, amnesty was given to immigrants in California, and he moved up north to the Bay area to find a steady job. Learning the language, and trying to keep up with the class work was a challenge for me. Having friends who spoke my language, and the English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my school experience challenging, but exciting as well. Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other people. I don't only believe that the support that I can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can be gained as well, and hopefully bring insight for continuing their studies beyond high school. As I improved in my English I also grew an interest in writing. I enjoyed my English classes, along with my math classes too. My interest grew and grew, and I joined summer girl programs. After participating two year, I became a mentor to those new peers coming into the program. I worked with teachers in Science, and in Math classes. I also participated in the volleyball activities, and group activities. This is when I realized I wanted to work with youth my whole life. My interest in English, and my interest in being a role model to youth made me decide to become an English teacher, especially working with students whose first language is not English. • 11. How Education Has Changed My Life Essay These past four years have really been a life changing experience. From a childish freshmen not only at school but at home too, to a still sometimes childish senior, one who knows when and how to control himself. This school and its teachers have taught me so many lessons that will not be forgotten any time soon. You can probably imagine how nervous and maybe even a little timorous I was, my first day at Barstow High. It was not very simple to get accustomed to, coming from Hinkley School, which contained approximately four hundred and fifty students at most, to a big crowded hall ways of Barstow. Yea some people think she is though on her students, that's because she is but I think that it has a purpose. She gives some challenging assignment that nobody wants to do but somehow she motivates us to complete them. I remember two projects that were fun and effective, not only as school work but to help sharpen our people skills. One of those projects was to write a children's story book based on an activist from the civil rights movement. Once we completed our book we took part in a field trip to two elementary schools here in Barstow, once there we assigned to a five person groups and we also received a list with the room numbers that we were to visit. We read our books to first as well as to second graders. After we I finished I had some of the children write their named on the back of my book. The second project we were assigned that year and that I enjoyed was to research two authors from the 1800s or so, in collaboration with a partner that we got assigned to. My Life As a College Student Making the Transition When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one student to dissolve the bonds which have held him to his high school life, he can get fairly intimidated. Making the transition from high school to college can be a tough one. I remember my experience in such a transition vividly, as it was only a short time ago. Growing up in a family in which both my parents had master's degrees, it was naturally expected that I would go to college, and for both my own benefit as well as pleasing my parents, I chose to pursue so–called "higher education". Stepping up to this "higher" plateau is no small matter, however. You Can Pick Your Friends A typical junior or senior in high...show more content... (It may be a bit of a stretch here to call myself a man yet.) The hardest part was getting settled into my new place. Fortunately, my campus has apartments in lieu of dormitories. I went to the lease office and paid what, at the time, seemed like a fortune, and ran up and down two flights of stairs for hours in an attempt to move in my belongings. My roommates seemed nice, and one of them had yet to move in, so the room next to mine remained vacant for a while. Boxed Noodles and Other Delicacies The Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest translates well to the college world. While living on my own, many of my long–dormant, carnivorous instincts kicked in. A trip to the local superstore meant that my pantry was well stocked, but replenishing it was another matter. I soon found myself planted firmly in a regimen of boxed noodles, frozen pizza, and TV dinners. While not the healthiest of diets, they did allow me enough carbohydrates to make it through twelve hours of classes. CB vs. CBW After the initial stumbling block more commonly known as residential life, I faced the towering challenge of settling into classes. Once I had registered (which was itself something of a dilemma), I had in my hand a sheet of abbreviations that rivaled a military briefing or a computer manual. My first class, on a Thursday morning, was located in a building called CBW, which stood for Classroom Building West. Surely the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. My Life As A College Student Essay Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I learned skills and tactics that will last me throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing provided me with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in handy in the English classroom, as well as in every subject I will face over the course of the next four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my writing skills at some point. This class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class could. This class has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and facts in a clear organized manner. In order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same information. For example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this idea in each paper in different forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea. In the critique, I discussed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Personal Goals as a Student Essay My Personal Goals as a Student An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall goal is no different than any other student, however, I also have several personal goals I hope to achieve while attending the University. Some of these goals are to acquire new skills and enhance my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to feel personal satisfaction of finishing something I started. Already having experience in the business world has proven to me that it is essential to have skills to maintain and improve daily functions. Three skills I'd personally like to improve on are my organizational, time management, and presentation...show more content... By just going through the motions of coming to work everyday, only getting done what has to be done, and going home at the end of the day, one might realize that an everyday routine can quickly turn into a mundane professional life. At the same time, if a person does all of these things, but shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department over the past five years, but I'm beginning to see a limit of how far those skills alone will allow me to climb. Being an expert in my field of pharmaceutical benefits doesn't translate into managing personnel just as knowing how to complete a task doesn't mean I'm able to give a clear presentation on how it should be done. Sure, I've been rewarded for the work I've done and knowledge I've obtained, but at some point, my employer will eventually see that more is needed to continue to promote me to higher, more management focused positions. My goal is to complete these courses and obtain my degree to prove that, if the situation arises, I can be the right person for the job. A more personal goal of mine is to finish what I've started. • 19. My Life As A Student My life as a student has been a fairly good one. I've received good grades throughout all my years of high school and pride myself as an intelligent individual. But my individual ability to grow and learn has been always changing and shifting as I have grown. I think that currently, I am at a low point in my mindset and learning ability, but there is hope on the horizon. This essay will explore the growth and mindset of Will Roser, and how I can grow as a learner, friend, and individual. As a student, I have some habits that I rely on, both good and bad. I am usually a good student, receiving above average grades and I am moderately happy with them. My strength is that I always get everything done on time. I never have an excuse because my work is always done. I pride myself on that fact. And although that may seem like a good quality, the fact that I procrastinate so much does affect how good that work may be. So yes, I always finish my work which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier. Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. As William James says in his essay Habit, "The period between twenty and thirty is the critical one in the formation of intellectual and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. 10th Grade That Changed My Life In 10th grade I had completely given up on myself, I stopped trying in school and would do anything not to go. I rarely wanted to go out with my friends. I never felt happy or that I had any sort of purpose in life. I felt like no matter how hard I tried I would never make a mark on this world. With all of my peers having their future lined up for themselves I felt like I was all alone not knowing what my future was going to look like. Once 10th grade ended I decided to get a job.
