PASSIVE VOICE as a Grammatical Feature in
Report Text
Passive voice in report text is used to inform facts. The form of the passive voice is in the
form of the simple present tense. Examples of passive sentences (passive voice):
Fireflies are found on trees.
The energy is released in the form of light.
In passive voice writing, the actor
may or may not be included.
As for the verb in the passive
sentence (passive voice) is in the
form:
to be + past participle (V3)
