RELATIONSHIP LISTENING
THE PURPOSE OF RELATIONSHIP
LISTENING IS EIGHER TO HELP AN
INDIVIDUAL OR TO IMPROVE THE
RELATIONSHIP AMOUNG PEOPLE.
THERAPEUTIC LISTENING IS
SPECIAL TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP
LISTENING.
INFORMATIVE LISTENING
INFORMATIVE LISTENING IS NAMED WE
GIVE TO THE SITUATION WHERE THE
LISTENERS PRIMARY CONCERN IS TO
UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE.
LISTENERS ARE SUCCESSFUL IN SO
FAR AS THE MEANING THEY ASSIGNED
TO THE MESSAGES IS AS CLOSE AS
POSSIBLE TO THAT WHICH THE
SENDER INTENDED.
FOR EXAMPLE we listen to lectures
teachers and what we learn depends on
how we listen to them.
CRIATICM LISTENING
THE ABILITY TO LISTEN
CRITICALLY IS ESSENTIAL IN
DEMOCRASY.
POLITICIONS, MEDIA SAYES, MAN,
ADVOCATES OF POLICIES,
PROCEDURES AND OUR
FINANCIAL, EMOTIONAL,
PHYSICAL REQIUR US TO PLACE A
PRIMIUM ON CRITICAL LISTENING.
APPRECIATIVE LISTENING
APPRECIATIVE LISTENING INCLUDES
LISTENING TO MUSIC FOR ENJOYMENT
TWO SPEAKERS BECAUSE YOU LIKE
THEIR STYLE, GOOD CHOICE IN
THEATER, TV, RADIO OR FILMS.
IT IS RESPONCE OF LISTENER, NOT
THE SOURCE OF MESSAGE, THAT
DEFINES APPRECIATIVE LISTENING.
FOR EXAMPLE hard rock music is not
source of appreciative listening for me.
DISCRIMINATIVE LISTENING
THE FINAL TYPE OF LISTENING IS
CALLED DISCRIMINATIVE
LISTENING.
IT CAN BE MOST IMPORTANT
TYPE, BECAUSE IT IS BASIC OF
OTHER FOR.
BY BEING SENSITIVE TO CHANGE
THE SPEAKERS RATE, VOLUME
AND LISTENING OF DIFFERENCE
IN MEANING.
TRAITS OF GOOD LISTENER
 ATTITUDE
 Most people enjoyed talking
about their own selves.
Some are angry to late of
stream, others feeling lonely
and just need a friendly ear.
 A good listener excepting a
person, and whether person
is saying, you don’t have to
angry but you need to
suspend your own judgment
truly.
 This is most difficult part of
listening.
 BODY LANGUAGE
 Most of our communication
is par lingual.
 Its not what we say that
counts but how we say it,
the tone we used and what
are safe.
 A listener must be open to
another in attitude and
postures.
TRAITS OF GOOD LISTENER
 TO MAKE
YOUCOMPREHAND EHAT
HAS BEEN SAID
 Sometimes a person need
to know you know hear and
understand what has been
said.
 You can show these by
repeating back what they
said and ask some
questions.
 DON’T INTERPUT WITH
WELL MEANING ADVISE
 This may interrupt their flow
and will turn the
conversation to your
mission.
 If they ask for advise by all
meaning give it, but don’t
after it tentatively if at all.
DIFFERENCE BITWEEN HEARING AND
LISTENING
 Hearing means the sense through which a person or
animal is aware of sound : the ability to hear.
 Listening is also known as “active listening” is a
technique used in communication and provide
feedback.
 So the main difference between hearing and
listening is, while listening is only refers to your ears
picking up noise, listening means to interpret the
noise, understand it and provide an response it.
