2. Inheritance- When you schedule a program after a popular
program, in hope it inherits some of the audience.
Pre-echo- Scheduling a program before a popular program,
in hope the viewers will tune in early, see the end of the
program, like it and tune in next time.
Hammocking- Scheduling a program in between two
popular programs so it benefits from pre-echo and
inheritance.
Channel loyalty- Keeping to one channel for a night. In the
1980's there were only four TV channel, these were: BBC1,
BBC2, ITV and Channel 4. Audience were encouraged to
stay 'loyal' to one channel, however, channel loyalty has
eventually died out, because of the introduction of
newer/fragmented TV channels.
