BROADCAST PRODUCTS
Forms of broadcast products are live, recorded,
music and speech programming, commercials,
drama and commentary.
2. Terrestrial radio:
Is when a transmission of
programs publicly
broadcasted on a radio. It
goes from the station to the
radio.
Live Radio:
Live radio is a broadcast which
is played on a radio without
any delays. Most talk radio
shows use live radios which
allows people can to speak
anonymously about their lives
or opinions.
Recorded Radio:
Recorded radio is something
that is recorded off the radio
which has sound and visual
images. This is where the
audience can download it or
watch the recorded version of
the original broadcast.
3. Music radio:
Is a radio format which music is
the main broadcast content. Radio
drama and comedy radios often
use this on a public radio.
Speech Programming Radio:
Broadcast radio programming
consists of talk shows and often
includes telephone
conversations with members of
the audience.
Commercial Radio:
Commercial radio is when a
radio develops its working
budget from selling radio
commercials.
4. Radio Drama:
Radio drama is an exaggerated
acoustic performance which is
performed on radio or published
on audio media, such as tape or
CD.
Commentary Radio:
Radio listeners are unable to
see what is happening on TV
or for any events such as
race horsing, football etc.
Digital audio broadcasting (DAB):
Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) is known for
audio broadcasting this is when an analogue
audio is converted into a digital signal and
transmitted on a known channel in the AM or
(more usually) FM frequency range.
5. NON – BROADCAST
PRODUCTS
Non broadcast products are podcasts and
internet radio they are often not live and can be
pre recorded.
6. WHAT ARE NON BROADCAST PRODUCTS?
Non Broadcast: YouTube is non broadcast because any types of
video could be played by someone and because it’s not
broadcasting out like a TV or Radio no one will know
that someone across the country is watching it, and you can skip
to any part of the video. Other websites on the internet that
include videos like Blip TV, BBC I Player or ITV Catch up are non-broadcast
because they aren’t being transmitted across to
people and just like YouTube any video could be watched and
not be transmitted across to everyone.
7. Podcasts:
A digital audio file made
available on the internet for
downloading to a computer
or a manageable media
player. It is available as
series which people can
download manually.
Internet radio:
An internet radio is an audio service
which is heard on the internet.
Internet radio involves streaming
media which allows listeners to have
a continuous stream of sound that
cannot be paused or replayed this is
like a traditional broadcast media.
Podcast
In store radio:
In store radio is when you can
customised internal radio station
which is played out across a retail
store or a business workplace.
This improves customer
experience and promotes the
retail brand and products.
