1. Task 9
Title of magazine
The title of magazine is‘choonZ’, why I choose this title was because it’s short
and snappy; it’s an informal word using the letter z at the end connoting
slang.
Explanation of choice of genre
There were many reasons why I choose this genre. Rnb/Hip-hop is the genre I
enjoy to listen to so being a fan of this genre already enables me to produce
a better magazine because I know what is expected. Another reason is
because I don’t think there’s another magazine which has elements of them
both.
Target audience
My core target audience will have to be ages between 16-20 but for both
males and females and think a magazine has to be targeted at this ages
after completing a questionnaire and focus group I think this target audience
is craving for a magazine of this genre.
Initial ideas about front page
My initial ideas for my front cover are, one main image with short cover lines,
for my masthead to be bold and for it to be full with bright colours so it’s
implying to my core target audience.
Initial ideas about contents page
A contents of what is included within the magazine for the colour scheme of
the front cover to follow onto the contents page, to mirror the masthead and
to have more images.
Initial ideas about double page spread.
For my double page spread I’m thinking of performing an interview with an
artist. Within the double page spread I want to include images and to follow
the colour scheme so each piece connects together.
Initial ideas about photographs
A range of images including pictures of both males and females, to reflect
my magazine I would like images of Rnb/hip-hop stereotypes. I’m looking into
a graffiti background as I believe this would be quirky and different. For my
double page spread I want pictures expressing my interview with the artist.
