4. CONTENTS
1) Knowledge of correct body postures
for physical activities in daily life
situations.
2) Stretching before practicing physical
activities and in daily life is important to
help prevent injuries.

6. Posture is the term which indicates the position of the body
in space. In humans, the erect position, is the result of
thousands of years of evolution to effectively contrast the
gravity force
7. The posture is also
a form of
communication. Try
to observe your
companions: their
posture informs
you about their
emotions. For
example look at a
sad person: the
curves of the spine
are accentuated.
And now look at a
happy person…
8. The adjustment of
the posture depends
on the nervous
system and on the
information that
eyes, feet, tongue,
send to the Central
Nervous System,
resulting in all the
reflexes that
regulate the action
of the muscles.
9. If the posture
depends on the
various
receptors, the
malfunction of
any receptor
involves all the
system, causing
alterations
throughout our
posture .
10. We have to look at the exact
distribution of weight and
the perfect balance of our
body.
Postural alterations are
noticed thanks to the
differences between the left
part of our body and the
right part.
11. Can backache or stiff neck depend on a sprained
ankle?
Yes, a sprained ankle couses a change of posture,
varying the distribution of weight when we are in
movement or standing.
Brain receives the
information from the
whole body and
sends the message to
the postural control
