Media is social. Developers build platforms; users make it an application, a community, or even a
news site. One gives the infrastructure, the other value. There needs to be someone who can help
manage these online users, promote the user-firm dialog and harness user-innovation. This is
what I do.
Current Position:
Interactive Media Manager, at Waterbridge, a specialist private equity holding company
with an interest in emergent technology. The position entails the entire spectrum of online
media from product development to social media management.
Positions Held:
• Junior Manager Marketing and Business Development, at Metaversum GBMH, a virtual
world’s development firm which created and now runs virtual world Twinity.
Created and organised community related events, created and applied social media
strategy.
December 2009 to May 2010
• Intern, worked along with Hamburg Media School to enable Random House (UK), a
publishing firm, move to the digital text/ e-book market.
Conducted research on user needs, expectations and extrapolated trends in order to
formulate business strategy.
February 2009 to April 2009
• Intern, helped the Media Diversity Institute, London, develop a new content management
system, bridging organisational web requirements into a people friendly format.
Worked on designing a user interface that would appeal to intermittent and remote
internet users.
October 2008 to March 2009
• Written 220+ newspaper articles and analysis on social media, community development,
internet technology, emerging media devices and applications, for leading Indian
newspapers and magazines from 2007 to 2008.
• Created graphical user interface for a power plant at Schneider Electric, and coal crushing
plant for Rockwell Automation, in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
